Gandhalfman_'s Achievements

  1. I just got back to university to grab my second bachelor degree in IT-Security and Networking , As far as I know we will only be taking Java as a programming language... When it comes to thing I am studying and to expand my knowledge , what other programming language should I learn which will benefit me in the long run?
  2. OP , those pointing sticks still exsist today and are under the name of "ThinkPad" Even Lenovo's slimest , ahem , most powerful (giggle) laptop has it. They exsist ;P
  3. Hello everybody , I would like to discuss and see people's opinion on the In-Win 901 case. What do you think of the whole aluminium chasis and glass side panel? Figuire 1. Taken from the offical website.
  4. Thats what I thought when he said "more softwares". I'll just wait it out or try to grab a hold on one of the engineers he is going to work with and discuss with him. The joys of having a BSIT degree in the family , yay. Thank you for all the info~
  5. He did mention that there are going to be more 2d/3d modeling software involved. He is still discussing it with the other engineers , so I am not 100% whats going on. (It has being going on for 2 months now , my brains acking with all the updates). Assume the engineers are going to do some heavy 3d/2d rendering , will a 660ti or a 750ti do the work until everything gets upgradeable?
  6. In US dollars , roughly between 1000$-1400$ (Please note I do live in the other side of the world , prices are either cheapers or more expensive) I can access to free WIndows 7 Enterprise And peripherals will be covered (Not added to the computer budget) I have no information about what types of project the busniess is going on about , even thou I asked for it several times , but I do know the people who will work on it are going to be electrical engineers. So I am guessing making blueprints and interior designs of building for electrical purposes? I will confirm tomorow if this thread remains unanswered.
  7. My dad , who wants these computers , did not specify how much exactly. He wants around 20 workstation computers that will handle AutoCad and he wants them as low-cost as possible since it is a new business office.
  8. Hello everyone , I am planning on building a lowbudget business level workstation for my dads new workplace which will focus heavely on Autocad. I have built several computers in the past up until now , from gaming to enthusiast to casual builds , but not a workstation one! I will list what I have in mind: Link - http://gear-up.me/checkout/cart/ (if link does not work then look bellow): Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Storage- 1. SSD:Samsung 120GB Evo Basic (For OS and software) 2. HDD:1TB Caviar Blue (for storage) Motherboad: MSI G43-B85 CPU: Intel i7-4770 BOX RAM:DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Low Profile Black 8GB 1600MHz CL10 1.5V PSU: Modular PSU CX 600W 80+ Bronze Workstation level graphic cards are expensive where I am from. I heard that "GTX" Nvidia cards works just fine.If so , should I get 750ti? Please share with me any suggestions or changes in what I am building Thank you!
  9. Yea thats the problem ;( Shipping wont be much of a big deal thou , got a nice discount on a shipping company here. Im just worried if I buy anything used from Ebay and recieve it after a long wait time , it might turn out to be completly faulty or somthing.
  10. I used to have a Thinkpad T400, but it got stolen (no need for full details lol). The X220 is kinda rare to find where I come from but I will do alittle digging here and there. My university do offer thinkpads but the T400 low specs and very overpriced. What about the good ole IBM T60? Found one for 300$ish
  11. I found a nice deal on a Lenovo x61 Thinkpad for around 130ish$ Specs: CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo RAM : 2GM HDD : 80GB OS : W7 pro (will change it to linux) I am planning on going back to uni and I need a laptop for word processing mainly and able to read Powerpoints / PDF My questions Is it worth it? Can I upgrade it in terms of RAM and HDD (would go with a SSD)
