  1. Why would I not have? No you can't download whats inportant here, the drivers. The dash yes, manual yes not drivers. And theres no drivers to point to in the dash. Looking through Tor (denmark). The US GOV message isn't even there. Nor is there for any drivers. Just got off the phone with them, its news to them, they haven't got a call about it. Told them about going through a vpn and links are there for manual, dash etc. But no drivers.
  2. WTF. The base windows placeholder drivers need to go. So what does one do when you can't get the drivers from the source?! https://www.lexar.com/en/download_cat/ssd Its their 240gb version. Big Gov allows tick tock bs, spying apps etc.... but Lexar isn't allowed to offer a driver.
  3. Thank you much! So I'll set it on the network side. But in Brave, I got this. If I leave it to default, does that over ride the network DNS? Or should I use custom and use the same DNS that I applied on the network? Any thoughts on the IPv6 enable/disable at the network? Brave:
  4. I've dug around for an hour, no joy. Simply, if I'm using Quad9, do I set the same IPV4 dns on my network and browser? Or just the network? In Brave, the dns option is to let brave use my ISP for DNS or one of the others from the drop down list. Quad9's not in the list, so it would be the 'custom' option. Both or just on the network side? And bonus Q: in W7 (just a garage laptop for work), should I keep IPv6 enabled and use quad9's IP6 address as well? Or disable IPV6. My gateway/ISP does use IP6 and I see network traffic on it. I dont do any network sharing/printing etc, so what would you untick if your goal was speed (Wi-fi in the garage sucks strong connection but lacking, need speed here). Not my illustration. Thanks a ton! Cheers
  5. Just got a chance to return to this.. Awesome, thank you very much! Will give that link a go. Cheers!
  6. Yeah for the model number I posted, theres no display drivers. And you can't select the OS. Trying that one you provided with a slightly different model number, no joy. Gave some off the wall errors, still installed and finished But the install didn't take. After install, reboot and still VGA drivers, max reso 1024. Catalyist Control wont open. Back to safe mode, DDU, cleared the AMD driver, rebooted. Reinstalled that same driver you posted, same errors and VGA. No Catalyist control center. Damn, what the hell am I going to do?! I've never seen a gpu (integrated or not) with no driver support. Hell I probably could find some Vodoo 3Dfx drivers - but not these edit: Can select the OS now. W7 64...... No display drivers. https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2515193&osId=3333616
  7. First, thank you so much, really appreciate it. I have the same page (on a second computer now) https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2515193&osId=3333616 And it aint there! Do you see the display driver on that link?! I sure as hell don't. Weird weird. edit: I see ya picked a slightly different model number. Very nice! I'd never thought of that. Thank you a ton
  8. Pulled out an old laptop, Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5974 (Win 7 x64) https://gadgetaz.com/Laptop/Toshiba_Satellite_L305D-S5974--2317 Wanted to update gpu drivers.... safe mode, then DDU. Reboot. Installed (W7 64bit) https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/integrated-motherboard-graphics/ati-radeon-3xxx-series/ati-radeon-3100 Borked, tried three times. Jutters, slow, acting sick. After researching, the ATI (AMD) 3100 drivers are not compatible with Toshiba laptops. Went to Dynabook (was Toshiba computers), entered the model number L305D-S5974 - NO F'N GPU drivers https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2515193&osId=3333616 Tried the "Toshiba Service Station" - it found one odd driver, no gpu. What the hell do I do now? In over 2 decades, never not been able to find a solution, until now lol Thank You very much.
  9. Great point, that makes really good sense. Windirstat - yeah, theres some beefy ones, I'll check out that max size, as a matter of fact I remember seeing it so it is indeed there. Thanks Spotty! edit: theres a great description of quick, size exclusions and exactly what ya pointed out. https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048728611-Defraggler-options-Quick-Defrag-tab Take care.
  10. Always used just W10 defrag, heard good things about Defraggler - thought I'd give it a go. 1tb/7200 After clearing all OS cache, temps, browser, history etc and reboot. Ran analyze (%23) then "defrag" - said time remaining 1 day and change. I guess this is a Defraggler thing in length of time. Ran quick defrag, and completed. I'm not concerned about remaining fragmented files (deal with later)- Its the scattering fragments and empty spaces. Why would it be left like this? W10 defrag says 0% fragmented after running Defraggler.
  11. Thank you for that. That makes really good sense. I'm guessing you're pointing this out when I mentioned the two different versions of USB eXtensible Host Controller with the other member. That said, I mentioned 1.0 to his 1.2 because I swore mine said 2006, its 2022. Double checking, thats pretty up to date. The USB Root Hub 3.0 is also late 2021 so I think its safe to say those are up to date. On speed transfer, I was referring only to 3.0 speeds where sometimes its 25mb, than 100mb+ a week later. The only files being moved around in size are movie files from 5-40gb. So 100mb+ transfer is fine by me (start to finish), its just when, for no reason, sometimes it will then drop to 25mb from start to finish. Thank you too for the help, much appreciated both of you! I guess as explained that all those USB points in my initial are normal. Is that safe to say? Cheers.
  12. Thanks a bunch for the explanation. On the "Generic Superspeed USB Hub", I'm not sure. I assume its installed if USB ports are working, that might be a bad assumption. Mobo is the Gigabyte 78LMT USB3 R2 On the speeds - that makes sense. However, copying say a 5 gig mpg sometimes it crawls at 20mb at transfer. Then a week later 100mb or so.... I see on your screenshot the USB eXtensible Host Controller being 1.20 Mine, 1.0 and even doing a driver update MS says drivers current. Hmm. Where do you think I should go from here? THANK YOU. Much appreciated!
  13. So having slow 3.0 transfer speeds (done every trouble shooting set I can find, no luck) and was going to uninstall and reinstall the 3.0eXtesible. Then, this mega nightmare. I don't know whether to ask "what to do" or "why" or "help" Currently occupying USB ports: (2.0) phone charger, steering wheel, printer and mouse. (3.0) 2tb USB HDD
  14. wow wtf, i think i've seen everything. Nope! /want
  15. Curious 'shop check, Rounded corner cropped flat or magically pokes through the cardboard. Even the edge on the lid looks like a pair of plyers got it, and proportion is defying laws of physics, even at the looking angle. I'm buying one
  16. The reason I posted this was because it wasn't marketplace, it was a paid news ad. You know the ads as you scroll your feed. Thats why I was thinking, how the hell does FB even allow something like this see the light of day? Marketplace yeah, hit enter its there. Is that all there is to it to run an ad too? FB doesn't even vet the thing in the slightest?!
  17. The notorious router in South Park had the town scrambling with no internets. Wasn't nuclear, just power cycled.
  18. Great observation, thats what I thought when seeing this. Another thats not as glaring is, "3 year" warranty. Who the hell is performing warranty work? The guy in the car with a trunk full of laptops? Or is it the guy in the abandoned oil refinery where pigeons use the place as a toilet?
  19. Thats why I posted it - so no human see's this at FB, takes their money for advertising and out goes the ad? I thought Zucker fought stuff like this so obviously - that it wouldn't even see the light of day.
  20. So this decided to pollute my feed. I'm not and don't plan on buying anything..... just your thoughts on what this really is. If it where some scam, I'd assume the ad wouldn't even got the nod. Won't post the link, just a ss of the page.
  21. After these decades, why have I never even thought to look? So after a little troubleshooting getting Brave browser to run fully off the GPU (success - by default it dont, even just enabling gpu), I thought does a browser GPU test exist? They DO! btw Brave users : brave://gpu/ will give you every granular detail of your GPU and browser (be prepared lol) So if you're like me and never thought of it, give it a go! --------- https://browserbench.org/ https://web.basemark.com/ https://browser.geekbench.com/opencl-benchmarks And to make anyone's browser do things they may not have ever seen! --------- https://webglsamples.org/aquarium/aquarium.html https://webglsamples.org/dynamic-cubemap/dynamic-cubemap.html https://ondras.github.io/fireworks-webgl/ (bottom right is the jukebox) Cheers!
  22. Xfinity prices are going up Again at the end of the month nationwide. Now my bill is increasing $17.15 So its time to trim hardware fat ($). Boxes and router.... The $ hog is the xFi DOCSIS 3.1 Wireless Gateway: Question is, with the endless sea of routers out there, what kind of router am I looking for? And what I kinda worry about is something going sideways and losing access in configuring. Is there a lot to configure with replacing? Have one hardwired pc, 3 laptops, phone and TV. I know that has to get redone, its just the initial settings I'm a little worried about. Thank You very much for a hand!
  23. W10 here. So ipconfig /flushdns in command prompt ran as Amdin says "successfully flushed dns" - but all entries are still there with ipconfig /displaydns. The entire list (50-100 entries) I tried another flush, same success, same entries. Cleared all browser cache, rebooted. Still there. Head scratcher here, what gives?! Thanks a ton.
