  1. This is interesting, but I'm not really sure why it's needed. WC3 supports 16:9 resoultuions if I'm not mistaken, and its graphics holds up surprisingly well considering its age.
  2. Whelp, I'm an idiot. I was adding a . onto the link I was searching for. Thanks for your help wtalk.
  3. No dice. My html directory: after moving the file: bartosik@bartosik-ThinkPad-X131e:/var/www/html$ ls -l total 16 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11510 Dec 13 20:34 index.html -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22 Dec 13 20:45 phptest.php bartosik@bartosik-ThinkPad-X131e:/var/www/html$
  4. After installing LAMP via tasksel, I'm able to access the "It works" test page at http://localhost/ however after creating phptest.php in var/www, I get a 404 when trying to access http://localhost/phptest.php. Any help would be appreciated. 5. This is ridiculous. There's no question about how much Dice has stirred up the hive by hiring Sarkeesian no matter what you have to say about her opinions, but to fire her now would not only cause them to lose face, but would probably net them a lawsuit for wrongful termination as well. Meanwhile, the backlash to Dice's blunder can only serve as ammunition for Sarkeesian's supporters.
  6. A helpful guide on interpreting cryptic Microsoft press releases:
  7. Well, this is irregular. It certainly says something about the place of divorce in our society when a man becomes a badass for being particularly good at it.
  8. I've given the thinkpad line some consideration, the x140 seems to fit my needs and my budget, however I've heard Lenovo has striped the features that gave the think pad line its reputation. Is this true, and is Lenovo really my only option if I want something that won't receive major damage if I drop it from standing height?
  9. While my current Asus k55 has served me well over the last two years, it's a little bulky and flimsy for me to go schlepping around campus with it without fear of destroying it. My main prioritys are durability and compactness. I'll be running Linux, so power is not really a concern. I'd prefer a screen under 14 inches. I'm not conerned with "thin and light" I'd prefer to keep it under $400, but I'd be willing to go far over that if I must to get what I want.
  10. With the release of the Windows 10 demo, I decided to enable Windows 8 hyperv to check it out. However, after insuring virtualization was enabled in my bios and attempting to create a virtual machine, I encountered the following error: Hyperv encountered an error while configuring the network on (VM Name) Hyperv encountered an error trying to access an object on computer localhost because the object was not found. The object might have been deleted, or you might not have permission to perform the task. Verify that the Virtual machine management service is running. If the service is running, try running the task as admin. (Already tried) In addition, when trying to open the virtual switch manager, I receive the error: An Error occurred while trying to retrieve a list of virtual switches. The operation on computer 'localhost' failed I've tried running with virtualization on and off, as admin, and with different user accounts, and have gotten the same result. On a somewhat related note, when attempting to create a VM in virtualbox, I am only given the option to create 32 bit VMs, regardless of whether or not virtualization was enabled. When I attempt to install windows 10 in one of these 32 bit VMs, I am told that my CPU does not support PAE. I have had little sucess with googling the errors, any help would be highly appreciated. Here are my system specs, should they prove relevant: CPUAMD Phenom 2 x4 965 MotherboardAsus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 RAM8gb corsair vengeance @ 1866mhz GPUMSI 7950 Twin-Frozr boost CaseNZXT Tempest 410 Storage2x WD caviar blue 500gb + 1 samsung 650gb (+ 1x 60gb kingston ssdnow when it's not in my laptop) PSUCorsair CX750 Display(s)1x Dell 2007fp 1x Dell 1907fp CoolingCooler Master Hyper 212+ KeyboardA Dell found in a trashbin MouseSteelseries Diablo III mouse SoundSchiit Modi + Vali, Hifiman HE-300, Audio Technica ATH-M50 Operating SystemWindows 8.1 pro Wifi Card TP-LINK TG-3269 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit PCI Network Adapter/Card
  11. 6/10 For the machine itself Fine for general use and gaming on low-mid settings. -3 points for having gaming peripherals that cost as much as your GPU. 12. Well, I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that linux just doesn't suit my needs on the desktop. It's back to winderps on my main machine, however I've installed Elementary OS on my laptop, which will be seeing extensive use soon due to my entrance into college.
