  1. So I am planning to build a Hackintosh. However, I do not have a macbook to build the bootable USB with the image file (or something similar with mac idk lol). I do, however, have a Mojave image. I was thinking if I can load this one on VMware and have build the bootable USB from there. I am open for other suggestions
  2. Hi! So I'm upgrading my current storage (adding SSD, finally) when I saw that there are only two pair of wires from my PSU (Seasonic S12II 520W) that has terminals for my drives. However, each wire has 3 terminals for a disk. I'm just wondering if I can only connect one driver out of these terminals? or can I connect a drive to one or two of each wire? My power consumption by estimate is around 320W so I don't think adding one or two SSDs/HDDs will have an issue. Thanks in advance!
  3. Cool! Have fun! I did some developing few years ago and I can vouch for Visual studio, saves you a lot of time when debugging/developing codes. As for linux, what at least I did before is install a VM that runs on ubuntu, but having it in a thumbdrive also works (though there's always a risk of losing it)
  4. Thanks! This is really helpful! I thought about doing your second point but I don't think I like to OC my CPU (right now, maybe some other time in the future).
  5. Here's my screenshot. Kinda throwing a guess here but... it looks... okay? right? ?
  6. Thank you so much for that! At least I know my CPU's still within spec range Lastly, So should I just ignore the EDC warning?
  7. I'm using B450 DS3H mobo with 16GB corsair vengeance LPX RAM. Is going above 3.4Hz for 2600 bad? Specs says that it's the base frequency but max boost frequency is 3.9hz. Now I'm not really sure what they mean by "max boost frequency", is it the max overclock speed? Or is it just some way of saying that it's the maximum it can reach? I have not overclocked my CPU and set my BIOS as it is.
  8. Hi! Disclaimer: I'm REALLY new to all of this so kindly bear with me I've been trying to work around this EDC issue of ryzen CPUs. I've read alot of solution of doing the power saver thing but it seems it's capping the frequency of my CPU at some level. While that will solve the EDC problem, it will sacrifice CPU performance. I've read that EDC might be due to CPU OC but I didn't overclocked mine. Now, I checked Ryzen master and cross reference it with my task manager to check if I missed something. I find this weird. Ryzen master shows that I'm somehow beyond my base frequency (3.4hz, which is also set on my mobo, yes I checked) but my task manager says otherwise. Can I ask for advise to fix this? some work around other than the powersaver option?
  9. Hello! Relatively new to building PCs. Has anyone here used Powerlogic Wyvern case? It has two fans in front with some kind of glass. I was wondering if I can remove this glass for better airflow? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi! Relatively new as well on building PC, I build my first PC last week and been happy with my test results so far (yey). To be honest, it all goes down to what you wanna do first. Do you wanna build something for gaming? coding? video editing? I started just watching those "budget builds" video, and if I heard something I'm not familiar of, just search what it means/does. Reading topics in this forum also helps. Might take you a bit deep but it's fun and worth it. cheers!
