    Hello Everyone,

My current motherboard is an Asus z170-Deluxe. When I go on PcPartPicker and add my whole set-up it says under

"Fractal Design Meshify S2 ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port that can connect to the Asus Z170-DELUXE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard USB 3.2 Gen 1 header. A separate USB 3.2 Gen 1 to USB 3.2 Gen 2 header adapter will be required."

Now, I have been trying to find a "USB 3.2 Gen 1 to USB 3.2 Gen 2 header adapter" but I can't seem to find one. Would one of those nodes work from Corsair?

    Please help.

    Thank you.

eBay is where I got my keys.  If they don't work then eBay will likely cover you.  You can also check the seller's ratings.

Thanks! I'll look into this as well.

You can use any old Windows 7 or 8 key to activate a Windows 10 install. Could even be an OEM key you find on the sticker of an old PC/Laptop...

Really isn't worth buying Windows these days!

Ah ok this is good info! Thanks

One was a 6500 which took a week to literally burn itself out

The other was a 4770 that just quit out after about 4 months.

Lol I just came to find a reason to upgrade to Ryzen 9.3600x but now I'm bummed out that my chip could fail at random.

Like I still have a pc that runs from the early 2000's, and then I've bought chips that have lasted less than a year

    Luck of the draw basically

This is sad to hear. What chip was it?

So long as you keep it cool it can last decades.

Thanks for the response! I've been helping my friend build his pc and seeing the Ryzen 9 3600x is making me want to buy it but I feel like like I can still squeeze out a couple of more years out of my 6700k.

No, both motherboard we suggested support Ryzen 3 out of the box. The MSI MAX were release after Ryzen 3, that's why.

Boggy's build uses an mATX motherboard and case, so those are a smaller form factor. If he wants to play on his TV (in the living room?) he might prefer a smaller build. Just so you know!

Perfect, that was my only worry. I wanted him to have the smoothest installation process as possible.

He will actually be gaming in his bedroom, So size shouldn't matter? lol. He wanted a nice big case with RGB (Corsair) but it was out of his budget. I told him down the road he can upgrade it.

This is a good build for a 2060S build! I will go ahead and send him over these two builds! Thank you! Question, what is this whole deal about updating the BIOS for motherboard inorder for the AMD CPU to work? Is that something we have consider?

If this is a gaming PC, the 970 evo is way too expensive. You can get a Crucial P1, an intel 660p, a sabrent rocket, or a WD blue and they'd all deliver the same experience as that 970 evo since you're not handling huge files. The PSU can also be cheaper, opt for a TX550M or RM550X. That'll still give you a ton of room to upgrade in the future and the power supplies are of great quality.

Cool thanks! Just changed it up in our details list and it's cheaper now.

  12. Hey everyone,

My buddy is going to be building a pc in the upcoming month and asked me to help them put one together. They want an AMD build and this is what I was able to come up with. Can you give me any opinions on the build? They will be gaming on his 4k tv at the beginning and then eventually get a monitor. They would like to be able to play cyberpunk at high settings when it comes out. The budget they set is $1,000 and will be upgrading parts down the road. I want them to get a 2060 Super but I'd have to trim cost somewhere.
