  1. US? Though there should be not too much difference between most models anyway. Just if not in US there would be much smaller pool of cards perhaps.
  2. If there is option to keep previous working install for backup it's of course the best option. And yeah, making Window install media with Rufus should allow to use local account as default option I think.
  3. You don't need to use Microsoft account if I'm not mistaken, though the option to skip logging in with ms account is a bit hidden these days.
  4. I think it will be okay, but if the key is not accepted the not activated Windows is not that restrictive. Also this might help - https://www.minitool.com/data-recovery/fix-windows-11-10-activation-key-not-working.html
  5. What's the point of separating/tiering the "generations" from boomers to Z (usually)? I find it as useful as insulting people by their astrological star signs. But that might just be my unpopular view on life.
  6. By the way it's strange that search in the forum does not always show all the search results about "CH341A" https://linustechtips.com/search/?q=CH341A&quick=1 It seems that there should be a lot of experiences. Hope it will help. Edit: only now I realise why CH431A does not show as many results - the one I'm thinking is actually CH341A (facepalm). But that only seems a typo?
  7. I'm on a similar boat. I ordered CH341A from Aliexpress for my card. Found a couple of useful videos from YT. I'm not 100% sure how useful they are, but they seem to go in depth. and It seems that there are a lot of different software for the programmers. Have not really identified which is the correct one: https://ch341aprogrammersoftware.com/ Sorry for not being very helpful, just following the thread.
  8. Public service announcement:

I agree with that message. Always select highest refresh rate before criticizing refresh rates above 60Hz...

  9. That stick in particular sucks imo. Got one with same mechanism, I prefer - https://www.deepcool.com/products/Accessories/graphiccardaccessories/2021/13758.shtml Not because of RGB, just because of ease of mounting the mechanism.
  10. I'd say subjectively that 3-fan is a bracket candidate. 2- or 1-fan not so much.
  11. Weird AI is the future!

    And they hype LLMs?

  12. I got my 1TB NVMe (Adata S70) down to 95% in about 2 years of daily usage. Was able to sell it for 60€. I think it was a fair deal. But for 512GB it would take perhaps 1 year(?) to get to 95%. So about 19 years to go, again perhaps.
  13. I'd not swap between the same manufacturer PSUs, only perhaps if the specs specify that the cable is compatible for given model.
  14. Never really watched his show, but the guy is a legend:

  15. @starsmine the PSU prices don't vary so much as other parts though. for $200€ you'd get a perfect PSU. In the ball park of GPUs or CPUs it's not so much of a difference between a "decent" and a "perfect" one. I'd rather spend 100€ more on PSU than CPU that anyway will get replaced in 2-3 years probably. Also ATX specs don't really matter SO much in performance/reliability of a PSU.
  16. Deepcool E-Shield - it was around 35€ on sale and functionally I don't miss anything. With RAM it's quite simple - it either works or not.
  17. Cheap cases are are not as bad as to be swapped out for most reasons. I've got a 40€ case for several years already, second build in it iirc, not missing anything.
  18. CPU, graphics card, RAM, case I guess we are not going to agree though... Surely not PSU and MoBo. Storge is so and so, as is cooler.
  19. I guess I got unlucky and my 7800XT seems not to OC as well. Also can't really use MSI Afterburner to OC, but yeah, otherwise it's just a matter of preference.
  20. Just wondering what you mean by that? OCed RTX 4070 is almost as fast as RX 7800 XT @default, in my experience first hand. Core @+200Mhz and VRAM @+800Mhz. But I do agree RX 7800 at similar or lower price is at least as good.
  21. Scam? yes! Used RTX 3070 is about 250€ here on aftermarket. I'd even say about 99% a scam. Or it's a stolen PC, sold by a drug addict.
  22. Quite equal cards in most aspects. I just sold my RTX 4070 for 7800 XT. Reasons are not really practical, should be said. Only thing is that OC was a tad easier on 4070. But I'm not very worried, 7800XT is a bit faster on rasterization, 4070 is faster with ray tracing. The differences in performance are surprisingly minimal considering they are made by different chipmakers.
  23. Marginal, yet the factory warranty should be a tad longer. I'd sleep better knowing it has a tad longer lifespan also.
  24. Yeah, for secondary storage, I guess I'd agree.
  25. In this case where both M.2 NVMe and SATA SSDs are usable I'd surely go for NVMe. Specially if the prices are quite close. Can't practically get any better than Samsung 990 Pro. Well, technically there probably are faster drives in some aspects than 990 Pro, but still it's as fast as any everyday user would need. For secondary storage it's overkill, but if ever need to swap this to primary storage it'll be very decent.
