  1. SOLVED. Despite both the CPU cooler and RAM lighting up, an eagle-eyed friend of mine noticed the motherboard wasn't. Although i previously tested the PSU he said he had a spare one floating around that he could lend me. Plugged in the new PSU and hoorah it booted up no problem.
  2. Hi there in desperate need of some help! Computer specs: (custom built system) [Ryzen 7 3700x, Aorus x570 i Pro wifi, Kraken M22 AIO, 32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum, GTX 1080, Corsair SF600 Platinum PSU; all in Phanteks Evolve Shift case] I was on my computer yesterday trying to connect to the (terrible) Warzone servers and it just shut down unexpectedly and will now not post at all. I thought at first that maybe the CPU overheated as it was a rather hot day in the UK yesterday (probably our only of the year) and my case was close to a window. I have left the computer for 12 hours now and it still won't post at all. The light ring comes on, on my Kraken AIO, and the RAM also lights up, but that is it. No fans spin at all. The motherboard also clicks after i press the power button (In the video the first click is me pressing the case power button, which then lights up the RAM, it then clicks. The clicks after that are me then pressing the power button again). I have tried shorting the case power button to see if the fault was there and it did the same click. I have also removed the PSU and done the paperclip test, which made the fan spin. Lastly I tried to boot with the graphics card removed, also to no effect. Any advise would be much appreciated! 3. which would you advise splitting? i have Sys_fan 1, Sys_fan 2, and CPU_fan, and i need to plug in the m.2 NVME fan which by default is connected to Sys-Fan2, 1x Case fan, the AIO radiator fan and the AIO pump.
  4. so use a spliter/fan hub for Sys_fan2 which will have the case fan + m.2 fan then? then that will leave me with sys_fan1 for the AIO radiator fan, and cpu_fan for the AIO pump?
  5. there is only 1 case fan that is plugged into Sys_fan1 on the user manual, are you suggesting i can run the radiator fan off this too via a Y splitter? and then just plug the AIO pump onto the CPU_fan?
  6. HELPP! I am halfway through my new build and my mobo doesn't seem to have enough fan headers. there are 3 headers on the board, 1 for the cpu and two additional headers. 1 of the additional is taken up by the small fan on the m.2 NVME heatsink cooler, so i am effectively left with 1, which is taken up by the fan that comes with the case! My problem is this.. the AIO requires two fan headers, one for the pump and one for the fan. Can i run these both through a Y header to the CPU pump or should i run the pump direct to the PSU via 3 pin to molex adaptor? For reference the motherboard i am using is the Aorus X570 I pro wifi and the cooler is a Kraken M22 AIO. motherboard user manual attached below: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdownload.gigabyte.us%2FFileList%2FManual%2Fmb_manual_x570-i-aorus-pro-wifi_1001_e.pdf%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR20WCAGcB_eCXHAPa6B-NwEt2Ub64lFMUbdiOxsQA9RtmDx1djFOwn9hS4&h=AT2ewjWLwhsFZgFjt1HoFth9MDz489ke8bCRWZT-K5D1T8A-N6jno9Z6xO-brSOnB_7_4QI9xZTm4I_yD_g9B29lsDsWwJNefnntJc9PeDgdjjkKVd47o7dWIMLG1ZdcKZnE9g6-jPk
  7. @dizmo all the parts have finally arrived! started putting the build together today and ran into a slight problem.. my mobo doesn't have enough fan headers! there are 3 headers on the board, 1 for the cpu and two additional. 1 of the additional is taken up by the small fan on the m.2 NVME heatsink cooler, so i am effectively left with 1, which is taken up by the fan that comes with the case! My problem is this.. the AIO requires two fan headers, one for the pump and one for the fan. I have ordered some Y splitters, but i was curious if i should run the two fans together (AIO fan and stock fan) on the additional fan header? or if i should run the pump and the AIO fan through the CPU fan header?
  8. Just ordered! Thanks for the advise. Means i can afford 32gb RAM now, just a shame i'll have to drop down to 3200 Mhz
  9. Interesting, i will investigate into this in the UK. What are your thoughts on second hand boards? I have found an Aoras X570 I on eBay for £180.00 which he claims has only used for a handful of days.. quite a large saving at almost £45. Gives me a bit more money to play around with for RAM then
  10. Thanks for your suggestion but im struggling to find an Mini-ITX form factor of this particular board? I wouldn't entirely be against getting a B450 board, just slightly intimidated by updating the BIOS, is this difficult to do? as i understand this normally requires access to an older chip? which unfortunately i don't have access to - not entirely sure about this though as I'm only a rookie haha.
  11. Thanks! Any suggestion on motherboards? i was unsure of this because of Ryzen 3000 and updating BIOS etc..
  12. Hi there, im in need of an upgrade for my current rig, and i'm looking to build a more suitable system for my university masters. I'm studying architecture so a lot of the work i will be doing will involve CAD, 3D modeling and rendering.. software list includes Autocad, Revit, Rhinoceros, Vray, Grasshopper, Arduino (although it will be my first time using it this year, so i imagine at a basic level), Unreal Engine and so on. Also a lot of work i do will be graphic related and as such a big focus on Adobe suite (particularly photoshop, indesign and illustrator) and some degree of photo editting. I have already purchased my case the Phanteks Evolv Shift, mostly because i feel in love with the looks of the case although i appreciate this will come at a cost to cooling potential. I also already have all of my periphals, a Dell UltraSharp UP2716D monitor and my GPU, a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 8GB Windforce. Looking at a maximum budget of £1000 for the build, obviously if this could be lower then that would be great. This will be my first build and ive tried to do as much research as possible before hand, but any advise would be greatly appreciate. List of parts I'm considering shown below, Thanks in advance. CPU - £313.00 Ryzen 7 3700x CPU Cooler - £69.98 NZXT M22 Kraken Mobo - £226.99 Aorus X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI RAM - £122.42 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600 Mhz Storage - £119.99 Sabrent Rocket 4.0 NVME 500gb - High storage capacity is not necessarily required as much of my work in stored on the cloud. PSU - £114.83 Corsair SF600 Platinum (£8 difference between gold and platinum so seems prudent to go with platinum) Total Cost £967.21
