I did some research on this underclocking thing. I watched this video... Is what he did in the BIO the same thing as that PBO2 tuner app? I got a ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING mobo which supposedly has it. So I don't need to use the app and do all that scheduling set up?

oh I thought the A was better than the S? It's newer and apparently performs like the 14.

82 degrees on load!!! but I guess that doesn't reflect real world usage. I'm just not used to seeing those high temps. I remember when hitting 90 was "bad". These days it seems to be the norm haha

Thanks for quick reply. Yeah I def have to update the BIOS, I stopped it on purpose before the windows 11 BIOS, I didn't want my PC prompting me to install Win 11 all the time. I plan to team the CPU up with the noctua U12A cooler. I got a meshify case with lots of fans inside, hopefully should be enough. Edit: I could get an AM5 and 7800X3D but I'd rather save a bit of cash and make the most out of the AM4 mobo I got now.

So the U12A is sufficient then? I got the Fractal design meshify S2 case with loads of fans inside it.

I'm debating whether to get it or not. So I have questions and hopefully you guys can convince me to get it or not... 1. If I do get it, it'll be teamed up with an AMD 6800 GPU, good combo? 2. I keep hearing about ppl undervolting the CPU, do I need to do this or can I rock it out of the box? How easy is it to do and set up?

My go to brand is Asus TUF series, they give me what I want with high quality parts. But as many have said, buy the one that fits your needs and budget.

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I'll stick with the noctua then. Do I really need to underclock the 5800X3D? I'm not knowledgeable about it. Just wanna run it as is out of the box if the temps aren't too high.

I want to make the most of my AM4 and everyone is praising the 5800X3D now like a great last hoorah. I currently have a 3600X and I game at 1440p, using a corsair H60 AIO. I've been told it's not enough to cool the 5800X3D so I picked two coolers. Noctua NH-U12A or Arctic Liquid freezer II 240 I kinda prefer the Noctua as I like their easy mounting system. But also heard the new adjustment for the arctic covers the hotspot of the 5800X3D a bit better. Or are they both overkill? which in this case another suggestion?

Hmm, I think you guys may be right with the powerline kit not providing me with the speeds... I might have to grab my old ethernet cable from my old place to test, that was a 10 meter length. I moved into a fairly new apartment building, approx 4yrs old. It's a small apartment but I ideally didn't want to have a long ethernet cable across my floor as the router is in the hallway storage room. My PC in the living room in the corner. I might have to suck it up and get something like a mesh w-fi 6 router like an eero or something. I have an old asus router at my parents house but it was way too fancy and I hardly used any of the unique settings on it. Always had to manually update it. I just wanted internet lol. Will wi-fi 6 or 6E be able to get me at least closer to the 1Gb goal?

Hi all, I recently moved home and got myself a 1GB internet service from a new ISP. When I connect everything up to wi-fi, my speeds on my phone are around 500-600mbs which is ok for me since the router they provided me is a wi-fi 5 (AC) one. The issue stems to my desktop PC when going WIRED. My path is: ONT > ISP router provided > power line (TP-Link TL-PA717 capable of 1GB) > My desktop PC I have done the following: - I resetted everything but the ONT so far - I'm using CAT-7 ethernet cables - The accompaning app for the powerline says it's receiving around 600-700mbs - Looking at settings on windows, they all display 1GB receiving. But my browsing is limiting my speeds to 150-170mbs whenever I do a speed test. Any help here? Thanks in advance!

I'd go for the AMD, better multitasker, only 1 gen old so parts are cheaper.

Howdy, If I were to get a 39" ultrawide monitor, how would the monitor treat a game being played at a 1440p resolution instead of natively? Will it just center the game with black borders on both sides?

I get that, but is running a laptop more energy efficient than my desktop? I keep hearing desktops will only use what it needs but not sure if it's more than a laptop.

So since the World, especially the UK and Europe are getting shafted hard with energy price rises this year. I was thinking, would I save money whilst working from home using a laptop instead of my main Desktop gaming PC? I don't need a powerful laptop, just enough power to run browsers and Unity as an emulator player. Is it worth it or would the desktop PC be fine still? I dual monitor as well.

So, I recently saw that nVidia RTX cards had an audio feature that eliminates background sound like mechanical keyboard sounds when on the mic. Is there an alternative app that does the same job? I don't have an RTX card to utilise this feature but would still like it.

Hello all!, My nephew got a new desktop PC last Christmas, it didn't come with a graphics card but instead came with an Ryzen 3400 with built in VEGA graphics. He's recently gotten into more graphic demanding stuff like gaming, 3D work and video editing and is buying a graphics card. He wants me to install it for him which I know how to do but I've never had to turn off an built in gpu. What's the correct steps to do this? I'll put down steps I think I need to do so feel free to correct me: Uninstall any AMD graphics drivers (?) install new GPU. Remove video cable from internal to the new card Head into BIOS and turn it off (? - What do I look for specifically) Boot up machine Install nvidia drivers? Thanks in advance for any help.

My iPhone 8 has recently been acting funny. The home button will still work as intended but I found out it's more to do with the touch ID feature. It just doesn't read my finger prints anymore nor can I use it to pay with Apple Pay now. It just keeps clicking, double clicking itself. Sometimes it's so sensitive that it tells me not to press hard when I'm barely touching the home button. I've tried the following so far but to no avail: - Rebooting the phone - Hard reset - Turning on and off the touch ID setting - Redoing the finger print set up My last option is to either do a factory reset or go to an Apple store when they open. For now I can use my phone like normal if I don't use touch ID but I use that quite a lot for unlocking my phone and buying stuff with it.

Not the answer I was looking for. I put the tissue behind the case and it wasn't pulling or pushing air out. My case blow a lot of hot air out the top though when gaming.
