  1. Thanks... Forgot to mention the APU is a Kaveri A10... And probably going to run a Gigabyte R9 270x in the new rig.. Have to see what the budget says after July.
  2. Yah wasn't sure If I could mention that on here or not... some forums are like that...
  3. Question for all those techies here on LinusTechTips... I have a AMD A88X motherboard with a top ram speed of 2133Mhz.. The Gigabyte G1.Sniper I was wondering your thoughts on the type of memory you would buy?? I am currently looking at the G Skills 2133Mhz Quad Channel 16GB version on "The Egg"... Going for good memory that does offer XMP where as the board supports that, easy to overclock and goes well with the black theme I am trying to create. Thanks for the comments, suggestions and ideas?
  4. As a new member and only a subscriber to the LTT Youtube Channel for less than a year... I wanted to chime in here. I find the reviews given by Linus and the tech team refreshing. I watch OC3D, Tiny Tom, TastyPC and a few others... Each provides their own comments, suggestions and thoughts on a product regardless if all of them review the same item or not. It's nice to see how other reviewers perceive a product they get for review. It adds to the overall... "Would I buy this?" Now for what I would not like to see.... Linus and the team keep it fresh. When they start going Corporate Monopoly or "FANBOYISH" to one company over another then I might turn away... Every company whom makes a product wants a good review by the professionals who rate, test and sample what they are given. Companies know that the market and research in such tech channels helps promote sales and help to enhance their product line. Sure a little extra advertising at the end of a video is fine on other products such as Linus does... without that, Linus and the team won't be able to continue to produce the shows, reviews and quality videos we know and enjoy. Well that's my two cents. Thanks for letting me share it.
  5. I guess if I were to say embarrassing thing is well more than one thing... Dell keyboard Generic Gaming Mouse Althon X2 64 Dual Core CPU Radeon 6770 HD Graphics Card Foxconn A7DA-S motherboard Old Style BIOS ... Guess that sums it up... LOL I like the Sentey Case i have, and I own a Tt Element G case as well but that Tt Case is empty at the moment. New stuff coming after I move in July...

Just a brief snapshot of my current PC. I have it cooled on air only, no watercooling. CPU cooler is a Zalman 90mm open fin cooler. Current rated Athlon X2 64 base clock is 2.7ghz ... Overclock'd to 2.9Ghz... Yes I have a Radeon HD 6770 in as my primary card and also am using the IGP, Radeon 3300, 128mb as a linked graphics card. Giving me 1152mb of graphics memory. It's an old rig (PC) but it works great for games like WoW, Warframe and GTA 4, etc... New rig coming in the near future...

  9. Well you see the Logitech 5:1 speaker set is under $100 USD... but the speakers are not wall mountable... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121044&cm_re=logitech_5.1-_-36-121-044-_-Product This was my old Logitech version: When I bought them almost 4 years ago I only paid $99.99 for them... http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-640-Speaker-Surround-System/dp/B00006HYPD Thanks guys/gals for your help.
  10. Hi guys/gals... Recently I had a Logitech Z640 5:1 Sound system for my PC aka rig... Sadly the sub woofer/control board that controls all the input/output of the audio system as died. It will not produce sound out of the rear or front audio speakers. Though when I try the speakers alone on a different system they work just fine, so I knew it was the control panel located on the back of the sub woofer that was the issue... So I am in the market to find a quality audio sound system for my rig... Choices are: $125 USD or under in price... 5:1 or 7:1 Surround Sound... (My audio card is a Creative Labs Audigy 24bit Sound Card)... Satellite speakers ... with the option to 'mount' them in the corner of the room near the ceiling... What brand/options would you recommend?? Thanks guys/gals...
  11. Mine is an old Athlon 64 x2 originally at stock speed of 2.7Ghz ... OC'd to 3.0 Ghz on air cooling... I choose sleep mode in Win 8 and just hit the power button when I want to go back on it...

  13. Great 6:30 GingerbreadPK however what day... LOL! Maybe a schedule of upcoming WAN shows and topics for discussion posted here for future members would be helpful? Thanks. I live on the East Coast of the US. EDIT: Okay so it's an hour behind my current time. Central Canada... Got it. Is it every Friday then? AND the link to the live stream would also be helpful... can't seem to find that either... Cheers!
  14. To admin and moderators, I tried doing a search on when the next WAN show is happening. I would like to join in on the converstations via live stream in chat however I never can find where it is going to happen until after it is uploaded to YouTube and I am usually a day or two late... Thanks one and all.. Feel free to move this to the proper place. Cheers!
  15. Where on the forums is there a schedule for the WAN show?? I keep missing your live streams and only view it after it is posted on Youtube like a day or two later... Thanks, would love to connect live with you guys while doing the WAN show
  16. That's all I have to say about Slick's PC... Keep up the great work! Art is always changing and transforming!
  17. From the album: Blue Dragon

Original fans replaced with Rosewill fans, However these fans are LOUD and will be replaced with quieter fans in the future.
  18. From the album: Blue Dragon

Original fans were Sentey 80mm fans that allowed air to flow over a graphics card. Replaced with Rosewill 80mm fans however those fans are LOUD on full power even though they push alot of air. Future fans will be less than <20 db.
  19. From the album: Blue Dragon

Another view of Cougar 120mm fans located in the top bezel of the Sentey case.
  20. From the album: Blue Dragon

Courgar fans 120mm mounted in the top and yes, no other modifications needed for them to fit.
  21. From the album: Blue Dragon

The original case fans by Sentey worked as stated however were located undereath just above the motherboard. I chose to move then to the top under the top bezel for future rad that I was going to put there. Newest fans to date are Cougar 120mm HD fans. Very quiet even on full load.
  22. From the album: Blue Dragon

Since the top fans were exhaust I removed the honeycomb plastic that held in a filter. Not a very good filter either... very thin. Future upgrade was Cougar 120mm HD Fans which have been very quiet and exhaust alot of hot air.

    Dragon 2

    From the album: Blue Dragon

Added a nice Mortal Kombat logo to the front, I liked the dragon fan grill so added it over the mesh.
  24. Toys and Games... With that said, Toys that collectors would want to collect and/or display. Portal 2 Collectables, Minecraft Collectables etc... I think you see where I am going with this.. As for Games? Games that can be played on multi-platforms... A variety of games of a certain price point for the average gamer... Not everyone owns a super powerful gaming rig. The majority are somewhere in between. Thanks guys... BTW Linus getting the cops called on him for having a BUG GUN! Priceless.... WOW Linus time to move where people aren't so nervous of someone owning a toy that shoots salt... Maybe next time dress up as a storm trooper and use the gun where you live... LMBO!
