    even if they used the same socket, you will probably need a new board as they change the chipset just a tiny bit (bunch of *i***) this has sadly been a problem for a while now

    That asrock board is itx with 12-16 orso sata ports. Its not consumer but server grade stuff. Ideal for a media server.

    Dont think so, why would a consumer want that(itx w >6 sata ports) is what manufacturers think. You already have to search harder these days for an atx board with more than 6 sata ports

    They have to anyway for 5g so why not start now? I mean its only one or two towers to fill that area

    It might be, just try it. Its better to install them than not. Try running your system outside of the case. It elliminates some parts on the 'broken checklist'

    No. Only if you use a 4x slot there might be issues. You can even run a 1080ti on 8x without a real performance loss

    First issue fix: unless you really really really need id, ditch the optical drive. It also uses sata. You can just download the windows iso and burn it to a usb drive
