  1. Thanks! But there will be problem with logistic case to Russia ? Shipping cost will be too much. I am looking at Fractal Design Define XL R2 , there is example on Reddit:
  2. Hello! I've got a little 24U rack case where i want to add NAS with 14 3.5 HDD + 2 2.5 HDD (for cache). Can someone recommend models of PC case where i can fit it all ? ? Thanks in advance.
  3. I recommend to check Synology baremetal edition called XPEnology. It can be installed on baremetal or in virtual machine.
  4. For your purposes you can find something like used Synology 216 (something like 250$ in Russia on used market) - it will be best for small prices and gives you all possibilities to get nice NAS with all functionality that DiskStation have got.
  5. Dude, 10 Gbps is not a myth if you have proper requirements to achieve this speed in Storage ? Here is example of transferring big file from NAS to PC via 10Gbps network with Intel X520-2 and MikroTik CRS328 via SMB share on Baremetal Synology (Xpenology) with 4x2TB WD RED + 2*250 Samsung 960 EVO SSD cache tier to PC with NVMe Samsung 970 EVO: And here is transferring from PC to NAS: It goes up to 670 MB/s when it goes to SSD cache tier, after that stabilizes at around 300 MB/s.
  6. Yea, +1 to Veeam. It is pretty good for backup all kind of stuff + if you want to go into virtualization Veeam will be good solution to work with
