    Hey all!

I have recently started getting into video editing and streaming and I feel like I could get better render times for my video editing if I upgraded my CPU.

    I current have a i7-7700k @ 4.2 GHz.

If I am to understand right this is a respectable chip for gaming in general but the 4 cores seems to limit itself.

The board I have is a MSI Z270 PC MATE and I believe the 7700k is going to max out it's capabilities from my current research so I understand I will also need a board upgrade.

Any advice or suggestions for upgrades?

I want to be within $500 for an upgrade but if that is not feasible then I can potentially stretch it out further.

    Thanks!

** Another note I currently use DaVinci Resolve 16 (Free version) for doing video editing.

davinci easy for amd vega 64.

The motherboard tho. Finding a second hand processor is easier than a second hand motherboard. But yeah, it is better indeed. I understand your point regarding the HDD but I have other more pressing things to buy other than it.

You can press down that list of yours by getting a case+PSU combo too btw, Alcatroz Azzura Z2VX only cost 250k for example. Considering that there's no GPU involved, it should be fine.

Thanks, didn't expect a fellow Indonesian in the forum

    you're welcome

Hello, My name is David and I am gonna be turning 18 in couple months. My dad wanted to gift me a very special gift that I am gonna be using for College and other needs. He gave me the budget of $3000 for a laptop. My logic is that any laptop that will be used to handle code processing and graphic design work, should be built to be able to play high preforming video games(Not gonna be playing games on it but the performance required for the coding and graphic design would require same as if I were playing a game on it.) Im gonna be doing tons of Graphics design and coding and other college activities on the laptop and knowing you guys are best at what you do. I have seen all your you tube videos and have been a long time fan. I just wanted to know if someone can assist me in picking out the laptop for my dad to buy me. Would appreciate it alot... Sincerely David.

The case I was looking it at doesn't seem to be on PC part picker. It is the Corsair NR400.

I welcome any and all opinions!

    Thanks in advance!
