  1. I can't find any info as to whether they are actually soldered or not but you can't put any DDR4 ram in. There are only 2 'slots'. If they are actually slots and not soldered then it's up to that model in particular as to if it will see any additional dimms.
  2. Clearly no one here has retail experience. If a customer wants a particular thing and they can afford said thing, then you have no right to tell them otherwise. You can of course suggest a better option but if the customer still wants said thing, you as a sales person must fulfil that wish to the best of your ability.
  3. There two explanations for this. 1. There are 2 2gb sticks making up the 4gb. or 2. There are 2 slots for other models that use the same motherboard which isn't uncommon. If it says there is 4gb of ram, there is 4gb of ram.
  4. Not many people know this but NTFS [the file system windoze uses] makes smaller version of all pictures, this functionality is built into the filesystem and so can't be disabled. It's a relic from the 90's when HDD's were as slow as anything and SSD's practically didn't exist. Basically, lets say your full res icon is 64x64, loading the 40+ that would be present on the taskbar and desktop would be painful, and wouldn't load in a reasonable amount of time thus Microsoft devised a system that would create lower res versions of the full 64x64 icon, so you would have a 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16 and also an 8x8 version and each would be shown to the user as they were loaded into RAM, allowing for shorter load times. This system hasn't really changed since it's implementation and that's where the problem is. 8x8 isn't necessary anymore and 16x16 is just a waste on a decent SSD but businesses are always going to be at the consumer baseline which means that right now everyone either has a 720p or 1080p 24" monitor and a 5400RPM HDD. Also there isn't really much push from business as they don't care if the icon looks like ass, as long as their employee is able to do their work. I've probably done a terrible explanation but I hope I've cleared it up at least a little bit. I got around this problem by just a having a tiny 20px tall taskbar.
  5. Welcome, welcome. I have cookies. Please enjoy.
  6. If you have cash to burn then yeah go for it. For a lot of people upgrading every gen just isn't worth it.
  7. It's an old problem that has become more prevalent with Windows 8 and 10. I don't know the exact details but basically the full resolution icon isn't being loaded leaving only the thumbnail version which is no more than 50% of full res. The entire DPI scaling system is broken but unfortunately until big businesses start upgrading to high DPI monitors, we wont be seeing any proper fix.
  8. Basically the rule of thumb I like is 'if you have to choose between 2 things but have no reference point, go with the standard.'
  9. Very odd. I've never heard of ram being killed in such a way. ECC (Error Correction Code or Error Checking and Correcting) is basically an add-on to standard meaning that if one component in the loop doesn't support it, it defaults to standard mode and it can do this because they're not physically or electrically different, just micro-code.
  10. Just out of curiosity, are you French or close to? Anyway. These days both AMD and NVidia price their cards in such a way that 98% of the time it's best to get the most expensive card you can get right now. It doesn't really matter which vendor you choose. They all perform about the same.
  11. That's good to hear. Also it seems the 1.7 update has just been released on the mainstream branch so we'll have to wait for f4se to update.
  12. F4se mods can't be installed through NMM, they have to be placed to the plugin folder directly. Maybe verify game through steam. Could be a bugged game file.
  13. In steam, right-click Fallout 4, Properties, Betas tab and ensure that the dropdown is set to None
  14. F4se hasn't updated to 1.7 yet. Don't use the beta branch when using mods, things will break. Also move unofficial patch to the top of the load order. Just to make sure, have you edited the Fallout4.ini file?
  15. There will be an unnoticeable drop in performance unless your trying to run something very intensive (like high bit-rate video or a game) on the sec monitor. You can run the second monitor off the I-GPU if, your cpu has one and your mobo supports output of both D-GPU and I-GPU which some don't. I have heard of some problems that can arise but nothing major. At the end of the day though, it doesn't really matter what plugs into what.
  16. Your analogy is backwards, modern PC can run code up to 64bit width but a quantum computer cant. You can run 64bit code on a 32, 16 or even 8bit machine but it requires a lot of work for all the conversions and error checking to be done.
  17. In theory you could run traditional binary code on a quantum computer but it'll be REALLY slow. QBits can be 1 and/or 0 and/or anything in-between but they have be put in that position. The main problem you'll have is interference.
  18. Since we can't use traditional high level languages like C++ or Python. So far it's basically just machine level. Basically you have 3 main levels. High level, which is all your Python's and Java's of the world. Assembly, is a symbolic repsentation of machine code and is much closer to the metal per se then High Level Languages. And finally Machine Code, this is literally the 1's and 0's that the computer understands.
  19. You are way way below min spec required, there is nothing you can do. BTW min specs are I5 2500k@3.3Ghz 8GB Ram GTX 660 or AMD 7870
  20. Mainly because there are no operational phone lines throughout the house, only one jack which comes in from the street with the coax. Since I'm installing new ethernet cable already, why not use it for phones as well. The other reason is so I can get real world experience with the tech.
  21. Due some recent events concerning my house I have to redo my networking and I thought, hey why not 'fix' or more like actually have a phone system, cause atm I only have a super old and basic corded phone plugged directly into my one and only remaining socket. Since my Ethernet network is being overhauled (90% completed) with new cabling 'n switches and going into just about every room. Perfect for an IP Phone system, right? Here's the thing though, I have no experience with VoIP, Basically as I understand, all I need is an ATA which connects the IP network to the PSTN and then I can setup IP phones with a static IP or DHCP and there may need to be a controller of some sort in there somewhere. Also anyone know about what is possible with Telstra and a fiber connection since the phone line would be coming through that. This is where I'm really lost as I don't have any real knowledge about VoIP in particular. So am I on the right track here? Also if you girls/guys can recommend any products that would be awesome. I thank everyone for helping me out here.
  22. It looks cool, nothing more should need saying.
  23. I imagine all you have to do is format it to fat which can then have any OS installed to it. Can't verify this though since I don't have a HDD from a PS4.
  24. Copper Plates, I guess.
  25. Here's the thing about audio gear, It becomes very subjective the higher up you go and so there is no 'best' AMP, DAC, Speaker, so on. I personally like Schiit (love the name btw) and Mayflower Electronics gear.
