  1. Wow looks like Linus needs a solitaire lesson from a pro... You’re welcome!
  2. oh okay, I see what you mean, although I'm a little lost on how it is relevant to system pressure in that case. edit: I don't know why replying with a quote messes my post formatting up lol
  3. Right, it won't move the air faster, but it helps direct it the way you want, ie out of the system. I don't know HOW big a difference it can make, but like, only having intakes will recirculate way more hot air inside the case than a balanced push-pull that is able to force hot air out to make way for fresh. Intakes only would "work", it would just be relying on PASSIVE venting, thus less efficient. About neutral pressure is optimal, slightly positive preferred over slightly negative because of the dust benefits, but any airflow is better than none.
  4. good point, it's almost like the SLI argument for graphics cards. Two cards WILL (or yknow, should) be better than one, but not TWICE as good.
  5. yeah, it IS irrelevant, but it is also harmless. Start multiplying that file size some, and your point will start to hold more weight, but as it is, it's just a little bit overkill, and just because there's no real reason NOT to have it that way
  6. my initial thought was maybe your HDD was going to sleep from inactivity, and for some reason had trouble waking again, but if you've also tried from an SSD then I'm not so sure, sorry bud
  7. as far as i know, blower GPU cards exhaust, but otherwise GPU coolers spread their hot air to the case and let the case cooling jettison it. As for pressure, I think so long as all fans are equal, 1 in and 1 out is neutral, near enough. If you have any kind of filters on your intakes, that will impede airflow however, so best practice (and I'm no pro so don't take what I say as gospel), have filtered intakes, and a slightly higher number of intakes than exhaust fans. The locations of the fans shouldnt matter much except like, if you have your rig on the floor, you will want to either have nothing on, exhaust only, or very filtered intakes, on the bottom of the case. Especially if its a high traffic area like a workshop where you do some kind of dusty craft work, or have a bunch of furry housemates. Hope this helps
  8. you have a power button on your keyboard?
  9. What's up guys, I am in the market for a new desk for my new build that I am freakin' pumped for, can post list if interested, will probably *at least* share pics, when done, on my social media profiles, if not so far as reaching out to here or reddit, but maybe, but I'll want to vacuum first before I show off that much XD Anyways, I could really use a new desk, and wasn't sure which subforum would be most appropriate to ask this, so if I need redirecting, please do show me the way. That said, I am very much a recliner. I have a huge, weighty office chair that is practically an armchair in comfort, only office in appearance and function, and I sit most of my LIFE in it in the reclined position. Say what you will about posture, but AFAIK I think it's not BAD, or perhaps even BETTER, to recline, than remain totally upright. I shift my weight from side to side throughout the day, as well as spending some periods in a more conventional upright position, particularly when M/KB gaming or working on some kind of, typing or editing thing. But my default state is laid back with legs resting up on whatever happens to be nearby. So my question is, do any of you know of a desk (or desk+addon?) that features an adjustable flat panel. for the mouse and keyboard to basically be at inches-above-lap-level, and preferably also with some tiltability such that it is also always parallel; no matter which position I am sat, with enough stability that it doesn't wobble about once positioned correctly, and enough durability that it can handle multiple readjustments daily for a long long time. The closest I can find are the desk types that have those little sliding out keyboard trays, but they never seem to have enough (if any) space for a mouse, so you are left reaching high and almost total outstretch to use the mouse and that is AWFUL. The desk also needs to be wide enough to handle one 31.5" 16:9 panel, and one 25"... holy sh*t (im assuming swears are allowed here since it ain't youtube?), I just realised an oversight... but one 25" ultrawide WTF I accidentally a HUGE main panel, WELP, that's gonna be my life! good thing it's high res and refresh rate, and I'm finally getting the horsepower to drive such a thing! Again, specs if desired, but up until now I've JUST gotten by (until it died, after 10 years service, this past December) on 1440x900 and sometimes managing around to 50-60fps often on medium settings; so this is a HUGE leap for me and I have no idea how long that will take to sink in, anyway, I just needed to let that out, before I exploded... Buuut yes, so thats my very specific requirement re. new desk. Also bonus points for headset stand, place to mount an adjustable mic rig, leg room for some kind of cushy leg/footrest (also any recommendations on said leg/footrest? Included with desk or otherwise)... and... a cup holder (sounds dumb maybe? But I saw some more standard desks on Amazon that had them and now that's a new box to try and tick for my dream setup)... and just like, a good, durable surface that can hold up to some daily abuse. Like, not rough abuse, but I literally live at my desk so it should accommodate eating off it and general human skin grossness; so clean easily, scratch resistant, that kind of thing... I think that's about as much info as I can think of right now, please do let me know if I need to repost this elsewhere, otherwise, I look forward to any information, especially if you have such a specific use-case setup as the one I describe. Budget isn't really an issue, just, it needs to justify its cost, I don't want to be extorted just because I have a very specific idea of what I want in a desk. Amazon (UK, Prime shipping) is my preferred merchant, but any trusted UK store will be fine too. TL;DR Tilty Lazy Boy Desk™, where find? Thanks in advance -WBC
