  1. I think 1060 is better card in most games. At least quick glance at benchmarks says so..
  2. The cooling on phoenix and palit jetstream is above average. It can work under 80 without being loud. There are plenty of old reviews, and palit/gainward is a popular choice for low and mid range cards. I am not sure if It's worth paying extra 35, if you can negotiate for less - i'd say it's a fine replacement.
  3. What exact model are they offer? Gainward cards are usually the same as Palit apart from shroud design. If It's Phoenix model - take it! If It's not phoenix - it should be the same as Palit Dual. Not the greatest, but for 1060 should be fine.
  4. I have similar issue. I have 165hz monitor, but I might try to connect the TV as a second monitor and see how it goes, but right now the best i managed - set custom curve with minimum of 46% fan speed. That way they spin at 660 rpm and are silent, but i still want the fan-stop feature to work.
  5. Sorry to hear that. Given how hard the cards are to come by.. I think my card is working as intended, just default hysteresis is a bit too sensitive for my taste and custom curve wont allow me to drop the fans to 0.
  6. Have you tried other bios? The "silent" one?
  7. Good day. I am using RTX 3080 TUF card for a few days already, but the fan control seems to be badly configured. As per product description fans shoud not spin until the GPU temp reaches 55C, but it constantly spins at 50% for a couple of seconds when reaching 40C or maybe it's tied to the GPU usage i am not sure yet. The other thing - the custom fan curve does not allows fan stop at all. If you set the speed lower than 40% it will stuck at start-stop cycle, at 40% it begins to spin but RPM readings are all over the place (from 150 to 900 rpm) and i am afraid i can mess up the lifespan of the fans that way. The lowest percentage with stable speed and reading is 46% at about 660rpm. (relatively quiet, but fan-stop is suppose to work!) I wonder if maybe other people also have a card and managed to set up a fan-stop? If so, how? I used to do this with Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti, but it doesnt work here.
  8. Leadex III 650w have finally arrived. It works and didnt explode I thought i'd be OK with hybrid mode "1" - the described fan curve setting looks reasonable, but sometimes the fan spins when i browse the internet. Once i switch to mode "0" the fan stops so i guess that is something to to with hysteresis. Strange because in aris review he said he could not find an audible difference between 2 eco modes, well i have.. Really wonder what could possibly heat up the components so much at low load that the fan decides to spin. Well it cools down and stops pretty soon after it turns on, but anyway i prefer mode "0" for desktop and browsing. Other than that there is no coil whine or buzzing or whatever else, but the PSU smells terribly out of the box I recommend leaving it with the fan mode "2" for a day and open the window in you room to get rid of the smell
  9. Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the chipset fan on X570 taichi board with its current latest bios? Like to set up a curve in a way it's not spinning until necessary? I see that many boards have that option. I do not have the board, but it is on my radar.
  10. Yea i will probably try to do so when i have time. Thank you.
  11. If i didnt have any fans and wanted to change, i would go for 1 thermalright TY147 at front(it pushes insane ammounts of air trough filters and very silent) and 1 silent wings 3 for top and 1 for rear because of quality bearing that is safe to mount horizontally and to mantain overall looks
  12. Yes it works, but what if fan suddenly stops or the noise become unbearable? It's not under warranty for many reasons, including me not living in a country of purchase and me messing with it already a few times. I've had experiments with morpheus cooler. Efficient, but too much of a hussle to put it on and god forbid if one of the heatsinks falls off. Never again, sold it to a guy who needed it for reference vega card.
  13. I've googled a bit, people say gigabyte fans are supposed to be non-serviceable but there are still ways to remove the blades. Might try that if i have time %)
  14. Ok, but i think you rushed a bit with the fans. No doubt a couple of noctuas at front will move a lot of air at higher RPM's, but will hurt the acoustics as well with only 3-4 degrees temp improvement across the board at best. Not sure if it's worth it, the value is already there.
  15. In this case adding fourth fan wont do much to temperatures (only make it loder), at least according to gamers nexus. They were able to marginally improve stock performance only placing 2x 1300rpm noctuas in front, which will actually not run very silent. Maybe try running the stock configuration first and if you are not satisfied only then start playing with fans? I am personally a fan junkie, i've tried many of them and only replaced stock fans because i already had some that i know are good and quiet. If i was a normal person i would go with stock fans first Also one thing i've noticed.. you have bought a thermal paste? BeQuet comes with their own DC-1 paste which is very good and does not need replacement really. In Guru3d paste roundup DC-1 beats MX4 by good 2 degrees while running overclocked 9900k.
  16. You wont regret it. 500DX have enough space for largest coolers (even noctua) and graphic cards. The cooling performance is great, note that default fan placement is what is tested to be the best by many reviewers out there. I have tried placing fans (i run Silent Wings 3 at 1000 rpm under load, not stock pure wings 2 though) like i usually do - 2 front intake and 1 rear exhaust and temps have gotten a bit worse and operation was subjectively louder. I have an overclocked 6700k and with that case i was able to remove fans from Ninja 5 cooler and never got temps higher than 55 in games. Before that i got about 60 with 2 fans on it, so go figure.. Before this i had NZXT H700, which was more expensive. 500DX is not worse quality wise apart from maybe cable management and side panel removal, the front panel is much more sturdy on 500DX though. The GPU temperatures are the same as they were (at least with one particular GPU, aorus 1080ti), except lower at idle so i can setup the fan stop correctly but CPU cooling is on another level for me, also it's much quieter despite literally running the same ammount of fans at the same speed. I bet the case will look dope as well with black and orange theme with dark rock cooler and orange LED
  17. Good day, i've been using this card for a while. Heard a lot about quality of fans gigabyte is using and got some issues with them myself. They make rustling noise which is obvious at low RPM, i wouldnt call it a critical issue for me personally because i set up fan stop mode with hysteresis and it works, but say if i ever want to sell the card i'd rather fix the issue if it's possible I am thinking of ordering some replacement fans from China which might take a while, these are not expensive though. I just wondering if anyone actually managed to disassemble the thing including the fan shroud could give me a hint? I have succesfully removed the heatsink for thermal paste and pads replacement before, but couldnt figure out how to remove the fans as well.
  18. I have recently build in BeQuiet Pure Base 500DX This is truly a great case that comes with 3 pre-installed 140mm fans that are not terrible, also build quality is good. I was thinking about Meshify C at similar price, but you need to add at least 1 fan in front to match the performance, also it comes with 120mm fans and not the 140mm. 500DX have ARGB if you are into that (but it's optional). I think currently it is hard to beat the value of 500DX if you can find it. It SHOULD be about 100 dollars. It's still relatively new, so should be in stock i guess. Btw i got in in white which in my opinion looks gorgeous, i dont have ARGB connector on my current motherboard but once i build new system i will definitely try this ON. This ARGB implementation doesnt look atrocious at all, there is a pretty subtle double line in front and LED strip on top when the glass panel is located to highlight things.
  19. The aris have reviewed 650w unit in 2019 and stated it was "dead silent". I have also found several reviews confirming the silent operation up to 500w load, and those were 2019 reviews. I really hope i am not getting some old stock found somewhere in the basement, i was that "lucky" once when i bought a CPU cooler that was pre 2018 manufactured and had no AM4 bracket.
  20. I know for a fact that Leadex II is not too silent As far as i remember Leadex II was like EVGA G2. I am now getting Leadex III, which is rated for very silent operation as well with 2 different eco modes. I mean the notes about inconsistent performance across different revisions and this "OOS on overload before OCP and OPP" if it's pre 2020 unit. I wonder how scary is this given if for some reason i am being shipped older version. I dont know, it looks like this one from after a few restocks.
  21. I wanted to get a seasonic or antec, but went with Leadex III 650w unit despite having some fan issues with Leadex II before. I have checked recent notes, is there anything i should worry about? The unit is already on it's way, will be used in single gpu gaming PC.
  22. But in any other aspect it's basically Seasonic, but cheaper?
  23. Picking a PSU for another computer. Just curious, how do i distinguish between Antec High Curent Gamer? Which ones are 2020+ and which ones are pre 2020?
  24. I personally wouldnt use stock cooler with 3700x, but i wouldnt invest more than 50 us\eur either for a ryzen cpu. Like i mentioned - Mugen 5 rev. b is very good choice noise\performance wise.
