  1. I think 1060 is better card in most games. At least quick glance at benchmarks says so..
  2. The cooling on phoenix and palit jetstream is above average. It can work under 80 without being loud. There are plenty of old reviews, and palit/gainward is a popular choice for low and mid range cards. I am not sure if It's worth paying extra 35, if you can negotiate for less - i'd say it's a fine replacement.
  3. What exact model are they offer? Gainward cards are usually the same as Palit apart from shroud design. If It's Phoenix model - take it! If It's not phoenix - it should be the same as Palit Dual. Not the greatest, but for 1060 should be fine.
  4. I have similar issue. I have 165hz monitor, but I might try to connect the TV as a second monitor and see how it goes, but right now the best i managed - set custom curve with minimum of 46% fan speed. That way they spin at 660 rpm and are silent, but i still want the fan-stop feature to work.
  5. Sorry to hear that. Given how hard the cards are to come by.. I think my card is working as intended, just default hysteresis is a bit too sensitive for my taste and custom curve wont allow me to drop the fans to 0.
  6. Have you tried other bios? The "silent" one?
  7. Good day. I am using RTX 3080 TUF card for a few days already, but the fan control seems to be badly configured. As per product description fans shoud not spin until the GPU temp reaches 55C, but it constantly spins at 50% for a couple of seconds when reaching 40C or maybe it's tied to the GPU usage i am not sure yet. The other thing - the custom fan curve does not allows fan stop at all. If you set the speed lower than 40% it will stuck at start-stop cycle, at 40% it begins to spin but RPM readings are all over the place (from 150 to 900 rpm) and i am afraid i can mess up the lifespan of the fans that way. The lowest percentage with stable speed and reading is 46% at about 660rpm. (relatively quiet, but fan-stop is suppose to work!) I wonder if maybe other people also have a card and managed to set up a fan-stop? If so, how? I used to do this with Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti, but it doesnt work here.
  8. Leadex III 650w have finally arrived. It works and didnt explode I thought i'd be OK with hybrid mode "1" - the described fan curve setting looks reasonable, but sometimes the fan spins when i browse the internet. Once i switch to mode "0" the fan stops so i guess that is something to to with hysteresis. Strange because in aris review he said he could not find an audible difference between 2 eco modes, well i have.. Really wonder what could possibly heat up the components so much at low load that the fan decides to spin. Well it cools down and stops pretty soon after it turns on, but anyway i prefer mode "0" for desktop and browsing. Other than that there is no coil whine or buzzing or whatever else, but the PSU smells terribly out of the box I recommend leaving it with the fan mode "2" for a day and open the window in you room to get rid of the smell
  9. Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the chipset fan on X570 taichi board with its current latest bios? Like to set up a curve in a way it's not spinning until necessary? I see that many boards have that option. I do not have the board, but it is on my radar.
  10. Yea i will probably try to do so when i have time. Thank you.
  11. If i didnt have any fans and wanted to change, i would go for 1 thermalright TY147 at front(it pushes insane ammounts of air trough filters and very silent) and 1 silent wings 3 for top and 1 for rear because of quality bearing that is safe to mount horizontally and to mantain overall looks
  12. Yes it works, but what if fan suddenly stops or the noise become unbearable? It's not under warranty for many reasons, including me not living in a country of purchase and me messing with it already a few times. I've had experiments with morpheus cooler. Efficient, but too much of a hussle to put it on and god forbid if one of the heatsinks falls off. Never again, sold it to a guy who needed it for reference vega card.
  13. I've googled a bit, people say gigabyte fans are supposed to be non-serviceable but there are still ways to remove the blades. Might try that if i have time %)
  14. Ok, but i think you rushed a bit with the fans. No doubt a couple of noctuas at front will move a lot of air at higher RPM's, but will hurt the acoustics as well with only 3-4 degrees temp improvement across the board at best. Not sure if it's worth it, the value is already there.
  15. In this case adding fourth fan wont do much to temperatures (only make it loder), at least according to gamers nexus. They were able to marginally improve stock performance only placing 2x 1300rpm noctuas in front, which will actually not run very silent. Maybe try running the stock configuration first and if you are not satisfied only then start playing with fans? I am personally a fan junkie, i've tried many of them and only replaced stock fans because i already had some that i know are good and quiet. If i was a normal person i would go with stock fans first Also one thing i've noticed.. you have bought a thermal paste? BeQuet comes with their own DC-1 paste which is very good and does not need replacement really. In Guru3d paste roundup DC-1 beats MX4 by good 2 degrees while running overclocked 9900k.
