  1. I’ve just completed my new build in the R6. It’s easy to work in and has enough space for cables and long graphic cards. The noise lvl depends on your cooling solution and if you use headphones or speakers. In idle and office applications the pc is super quiet, in stressful games it gets noisy but not uncomfortable. With headphones I don’t notice any noise. But like I said it depends on your cooking and fan settings. My 2080ti ramps up to 60% fan speed under load and is the main source of noise.
  2. Some retailers also offer a bios upgrade for non x570 motherboards so they can run Ryzen3000. It might add some cost to the CPU but its cheaper than getting an old CPU just for the upgrade.
  3. The Taichi is a good board, but since the r9 3950x hasn't launched yet, there's no way to know if it works. You can compare all the AM4 motherboards with this community spreadsheet. One thing i would consider in choosing x470 or b450 boards is the bios chip size (i wouldn't go for a 16mb bios)
  4. I was looking at the Meshify S2 but i need the internal optical drive quiet a lot. What I like about the R6 is that if you just open the door, you’ll almost get a S2 out of it.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm going to build my new PC in a Fractal Design R6 with the following parts: CPU: I9-9900k CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 GPU: MSI 2080ti Duke Ram: 2x 16GB sticks 1x HDD 1x SSD 1x Nvme and 1x 5,25'' optical drive. For cooling I'm going all in with air cooling. I'm thinking about adding 3 more 140mm fans into the case for a total of 6 fans. Because I never had such strong and powerful hardware, I have a few questions. a) is it even worth to upgrade the fans to get better temps? b) what option is better, 4in/2out or 3in/3 out? I know that more fans mean more noise but I'm trying to find an aircooled build that can go from "fairly quiet and a bit hot" to "louder and cool". While gaming I'm always wearing on ear closed headphones so noise isnt my main focus. What do you guys think is the best aircooled setup for the case?
  6. I just upgraded from a Gainward 1070 GS to a 2080ti. The 1070 ran fine in 1440p 144hz with low settings in almost every competitive game and 60hz in single player games with better settings. I decided to upgrade just for the eye candy because I wanted the games to look prettier. If you want the performance, go for an upgrade. If you want the best value, run the 1070 as long as you can and upgrade after it breaks or can’t keep up with the games you play.
  7. The RTX 20 super series is a reaction from NVIDIA to AMDs Navi launch. There is no need to make a 2080ti super if AMD can’t compete with the normal 2080ti performance.
  8. Thanks for the answers. The price difference for me in Germany is 125€ between those cards. I can’t imagine the non-ultra card doesn’t boost to 1950 with that thick cooler. I could just get the non-ultra card, test it and send it back if it doesn’t perform but that’s not the way I want to do things. Either way I’m going to wait for the Super announcement and see if the product lineup changes significantly.
  9. Hello everyone, im thinking about upgrading my GTX 1070 to a 2080ti. The card of my choice, or better the cooling solution of my choice, is EVGAs FTW 3 series. As I was looking for those cards I found a 2080ti FTW 3 Gaming https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2483-KR and a 2080ti FTW 3 Ultra Gaming https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2487-KR I tried to compare them and the only difference I found was the boost clock. They have the same cooking solution and both have an A1 chip. Does anyone know if there’s another difference? Maybe the ultra gets better chips? if it is only the factory overclock the “cheaper” FTW 3 Gaming is my choice as I’m fairly confident in overclocking with such a big cooler. Thanks in advance!
