  1. I have an Asus ROG GL553VD-DMT596t. How do I know what type of socket my laptop has without opening the back cover. I can't open it because it voids my warranty.
  2. My ROG GL553VD goes to a black screen (during boot) after installing Intel HD 630 Driver. This goes away when I go into safe mode and use the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.I have tried these options: Reinstalling Intel HD using DDU and using the driver from the manufacturer's site. Reinstalling Intel HD using DDU and using the driver from intel's site Reinstalling Nvidia GPU. Reinstalling Windows 10 SysInfo.nfo
  3. Thank you guys in advance!! My computer (ROG GL553VD - i7) goes to a black screen whenever i click the battery, volume, and notification icon. Ctrl Alt Del didn't work. This doesn't happen if I change the graphics driver (Intel hd 630) to a generic one it doesn't happen. I already tried to reinstalled but the problem still exist.
  4. HELLO GUYS!

I was thinking of putting HDD in optical drive slot using Caddy but I don't know if it has SATA 3/2 or PATA. I also don't know what Caddy to use and if it is compatible.

Here is the model of the laptop:

    Some info:

    - The optical drive slot is empty.

    - I want to put HDD into the optical drive slot and a (new) SSD to the where the HDD was.

I want to thank you in advance :)

  5. Crystaldiskinfo Status shows caution. I was wondering if it means HDD is dying and if it is can I repair it?

(Sorry for quality. I used my phone)

It shows caution at the reallocated sector count, so that can't be good. I would create a backup immediately, but i don't know how far into dying it is.

No, you can't repair a dying HDD without proper knowledge of which part exactly is failing. But 320gb hdd's can be had for a few dollars.

@WikiForce Because yeah that totally fixes your hdd, instead of just writing over the valuable smart statistics. That program physically goes into your harddrive and mechanically fixes the failing parts. The data recovery experts use that all the time to fix broken hdds.

      Thank you, very cool.
