  1. Hello! I have a computer where I want to install my old Hard Drive from my former computer, but the hard drive does not get recognized. Old PC: - Z97-A Motherboard - i7 4790K - 1 SSD (where the OS is installed), and 3 Hard Drives with data New PC: - B560M-A PRO Motherboard - i5 10400F - 1 M.2 NVME (500GB) I read online that having an NVME M.2 might disable some SATA ports depending on the motherboard. I tried with all 6 SATA ports available on the B560M and also with a new SATA cable, and nothing. I thought maybe I fucked up the HDD when moving it from one PC to the other, but I just put it back on the old PC and it's working just fine. Any thoughts on what might be the issue or how to solve it? Thank you in advance
  2. Yes, all the tools I used allowed me to clone withing windows. My issue is that it doesn't want to boot in one PC and it does in a different one.
  3. I unplugged all drives (sata and power cables) and it booted normally. I'll still try using the minitool and see what happens. Very weird
  4. Interesting, will give this a go right now and get back to you. Will it be possible to fix the bootloader issue without cloning again?
  5. I did used Macrium Reflect the first time I cloned the SSD, I saw someone using it in a tutorial and worked just fine for him. But did not boot for me (I did not tried to use a different PC the first time when using Reflect so I'm not sure if it was fine or not) I then cleaned the SSD with software and I read a few other posts and opitions from users refering to AOMEI so I gave it a shot the second time. Both software were easy to use, and cloned from windows. Cant have an opinion on them since they worked virtually the same for me.
  6. I tried tweaking everthing that that could be related to boot options. I do not reall seeing the BBS option in this BIOS (I do remember reading about it when looking into this error online. I will give another look into the BIOS just in case
  7. I had another SSD and 2 Hard Drives, so 4 drives connected. I just booted from the cloned SSD and it worked
  8. Hello everyone, I'm trying to upgrade my moms computer from and HDD to an SSD (windos 8.1). I cloned the entire HDD using AOMEI Backupper, it finished normally but It doesn't want to boot (already changed the boot priorities on BIOS and even disconnected the HDD). After several attempts to fix the issue, I plugged the SSD into a different PC and it just worked... It booted normally even without the drivers of the different motherboard, all the files and partitions where just there. The original PC where it was cloned from has an ASUS p8h61-m lx3 Motherboard (quite old) running a first generation i7 and 8gb RAM. The other computer where it did work has an ASUS Z97-A Motherboard, i7 4th generation, 16Gb ram, GTX970, 3 HDD's and 1 SSD. Looking at some possible errors for not a cloned SSD not booting were: - UEFI / Legacy boot options (the motherboard doesn't seem to have a legacy option but it does say UEFI on the BIOS - Boot order (already tried that) - BCD error locating the boot/OS partition (the CMD commands for looking into BCD on the SSD didnt work, it says it cant find it, but then again it does run on my other PC so I don't know) - BOOTREC command (CMD did not recognize the command when I attempted). Soooo. I'm kind of lost right now. I would totally do a fresh OS instal but its my mom's PC and she has not only very obscure accounting software on it that we don't have new licences for them, but tons of files everwhere. I'm inclined to think it might be something in the BIOS or the motherboard itself, but that's as far as my criteria takes me.
  9. Thank you so much Icboboy!
  10. Budget (including currency): $1250 Country: Peru (South Amercia) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming. Hello! (from Peru - South America) I'm looking to buy a PC for gaming for a friend, and I would like some help/advice o a few topics. I do have some basic understanding of components (I have already built a PC before but with assistance) There is currently an offer in my country for a selection of the following components: * Keep in mind that there are a lot of components that are just not available in my country, so I will let you know if your recommendation is not available here. * Dollar exchange rate increased 17-20% during the pandemic so, even small increments in price do affect the cost in my currency. Price: $1250 (USD) exactly the intended budget CPU: i5 10400F GPU: RTX 3060 GIGABYTE EAGLE RAM: 16GB T FORCE VULCAN Z 3200MHZ (8GB X 2) MOBO: B560M A PRO MSI PSU: 550W 80 BRONCE CORSAIR SSD: 500GB M.2 KINGSTON NVME NV1 CASE: MX410 G COUGAR * After looking at different sellers/websites in my area, I could buy the same components for $1470 so the offer is actually good considering my currency. * My friend is most likely to buy a whole new PC in a few years instead of upgrading so no need to future proof(maybe 4-5). My questions regarding this build: - Will going for a lower-speed RAM be advised? I understand that the 10400F has a 2666 cap on ram speed, but that's as far as my knowledge on it goes. - My friend has a 60hz 4k monitor, I know the 3060 is aimed more towards 1080p gaming so, is a 4k monitor able to display 1080p or 1440p correctly in case 4k is too much for the GPU? - Is the motherboard reliable? I'm not concerned about features. No need for wifi, USB C, or additional PCI slots. Just want to get a good one for what I have on the build. - I'm yet to find out exactly which PSU model they are offering but, would you have any suggestions? or anything to stay away from?. The store can make any changes to the parts that I want if they have the components. But the price might not be as attractive. (it's not a huge store regarding variety, but it is a popular one). Any comments regarding this build would be very much appreciated!
  11. Portable low/mid gaming pc... I often go to my friends house to play some lan games and the idea of having a portable desktop would do the magic for me Thanks !
  12. Hi everyone, So, this is what I got from another retailer. Unfortuantely the one Demons mentioned only sells to other retailers i7 4790 3.6GHz MSI H97 Gaming 3 LGA1150 8GB DDR3 Kingston Fury Blue Asus GTX970 4GB GDDR5 2TB Hard Drive 650W Corsair Cooler Hyper 212x Cooler Master ATX Thermaltake Urban R31W $1473 With K series CPU and Oc ready MBO i7 4790K 4.0GHz Asus Z97-A LGA1150 DDR3 8GB DDR3 Kingston Fury Blue Asus GTX970 4GB GDDR5 2TB Hard Drive 650W Corsair Cooler Hyper 212x Cooler Master ATX Thermaltake Urban R31W $1545 Whould you recommend any of these builds for me?
  13. I'm requesting pricing (with the Retailer you suggested) on both options to see what can fit my budget. Im also looking at the difference in price betweet the 650 and 750w. Interesting.... In that case I might give it a try. Also requesting pricing on none-K CPU and H97 I will let everyone know when I get a response from the retailer. Thanky you everyone !
  14. Since nobody in our office knows much about it, I would say no. Would overclocking make a big impact when rendering? A H97 board and a none K series CPU might save us some money. Thank you for that suggestion !!! Would you say that with those changes (including a 650w PSU and a cheaper atx case) I would have what I need?
  15. No, we wont do any OC. Im taking a look at the motherboards, but Im still a little confused on what to get I think I could just see what other Z97's are available with that provider.
