  1. I was already planning on spending $750, so do you think I could get something better for that price?
  2. I'm going to need minimum 32-64GB ram Appreciate the help looking though!
  3. Sorry, misread your question. I would prefer that as I could put it in the same place as my network setup.
  4. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QR7H4HS - seller offered to add rails, bezel, and 4 more trays @750.
  5. I can talk to this seller and ask for less ram on the server. Would it be worth going somewhere else for it? This one's on Amazon, so I know I have their "Amazon Renewed Guarantee" or whatever. Haven't had the best luck with eBay in the past. Yeah, I would probably not use this one just for that, but it's one of the things I would. I want to get something rack-mountable, and from what I've seen it would cost more to build something with desktop hardware. I could be totally off, so feel free to correct me if that's the case. I also considered getting something cheaper for now ($200-400) and then doing a second one later w/ better specs.
  6. Yeah I found some other options, but because one of the thing I'm planning to do is host game servers, the single core is a pretty big factor. The cheaper servers I've seen that have similar clock speeds have 1/3 - 1/4 as many cores.
  7. It's about what I've seen so far. Oh I forgot to mention it also has rails and bezel. No drives included
  8. Yeah, I'm in the US. Not really sure what a good price is. Which is why I'm here Good to know. I'm not sure yet about the amount of storage I'll be using. I was thinking about adding SSDs over time.
  9. Hey! I'm buying myself a refurb server for my bday, and wanted to get some third party opinions before I spend a bunch of money on the wrong things. Main use cases (I have a bunch of other stuff I want to try): - NAS - Plex Server - Probably hosting a few MC servers - Hosting a few DBs for personal use - Testing out all the free stuff I get while I'm in school (Windows Server 2019, SCSM, etc) - A bunch of other random stuff at different times. Server I found: - Dell PowerEdge R720 - 2x E5-2690 - 192GB PC3-10600R - H710 RAID controller - 8x 2.5" drive trays - 2x 750W PSU - $750 USD Do you think the server makes sense for the price/use case? I'm fine getting something overkill as I have plenty of ideas for future use, but if I can get more performance for the price or am missing something important, let me know. Thanks!
  10. Edit: I was able to get a replacement cross-shipped.
  11. I just got the RAX120, but when I went to set it up, I found that I can't see the 5GHz band from any of my devices. I have multiple devices which support WiFi 6, but they can't see it either. I've checked that it is broadcasting and tried changing channels and modes, but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd really appreciate any help -- thanks in advance! Here are the 5GHz settings: Firmware version: V1.0.1.118 Model: RAX120|Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream WiFi Router
  12. I was able to solve this by booting into safe mode and removing the fonts from the font settings.
  13. For anyone still interested, I found out it was an issue with Razer Synapse. Once I closed it, everything worked great!
  14. Hi all! I have a few windows 10 pro and Windows Server 2019 keys, and was wondering if there is a way to link them all to my Microsoft account. I have more keys than compatible devices at the moment, but would like to add the spare keys to my Microsoft account for safekeeping. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks!
  15. I'm not using any hubs. After noticing the issue I connected a third controller using a USB C to A adapter, but it works exactly the same (but with better tracking). I was launching the game via VR, but I just tried through the desktop and it made no difference.
  16. I recently bought an Oculus Rift w/ touch controllers and three sensors from a friend, and when I first tried it out, it worked fine. After the first run, I started having an issue running steamVR games on the rift. I can open SteamVR and it works normally, but as soon as I try to open a game, my frame rate drops to less than 1fps, my tracking goes crazy, I get a message saying one of my sensors has disconnected (I have tried switching the sensor and using a different USB port), and I have to force quit SteamVR or wait for it to crash. The strangest part is that I can run Oculus games with zero issues. I purchased some vr games a few months back on SteamVR to go with my new headset (which I returned), and I would prefer not to re-purchase them. Let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks! (I'm using a Razer Blade 15 Advanced 2019, with an RTX 2070 Max-Q, i7-9750H, 16GB ram, 1TB NVMe SSD)
  17. That didn't change anything. I found the problem font, but can't delete or replace it (it says that the font is in use). I tried doing it immediately after a reboot when nothing is open, but it still says the font is in use.
  18. Thanks for responding. I added the header and it didn't have an error when I ran it. Then I restarted my laptop, but nothing happened. I also did what you said (Adjust for best appearance) but it didn't change anything. Any ideas?
  19. Is it possible to run windows server without ECC ram? I have a few older (4-5 years old) desktops. Is it possible to install Windows Server 2019 on these desktops? One has the following specs: i5-6400 Nvidia gt730 16GB DDR3 (I'm not sure of the speed) 1TB HDD
