  1. hey were you able to fix the egpu not recognized this with ur omen epgu and huawei matebook x  please letme know would highly appreciate it

  2. Hey guys, So I've been going through this problem for a little while but essentially I'm having major issues getting my laptop, Huawei Matebook X Pro, connected to my eGPU, Omen Accelerator with a gtx1080 founder's. I've been in contact with Huawei and here below is the email I sent them detailing all the information. __________________________ Hello, So I have been working on this for the past few weeks and here are all the technical details I have found. The issue I'm having is regarding connecting my laptop, Huawei Matebook X Pro, to an eGPU via a thunderbolt 3 connection. The eGPU in question is the HP Omen Accelerator, containing a GTX 1080. Here is what I know for certain: - The eGPU, with this GTX 1080 inside, definitely works perfectly, I have another laptop with thunderbolt 3 and this other laptop is able to connect via a single thunderbolt 3 cable and following the expected setup, everything works as expected with no exceptions. - The Matebook X Pro is fully functioning and the thunderbolt 3 port on this laptop works as well. I was able to use the thunderbolt 3 cable from the eGPU to connect this laptop with the other laptop, and a thunderbolt connection was made. - The Matebook X Pro and the Omen Accelerator eGPU are fully compatible. First of all, the Omen Accelerator is theoretically fully compatible with any thunderbolt 3 controller, but furthermore, I have been in contact with a number of people who have this exact same configuration as me, and they have not encountered any issues at all. https://www.reddit.com/r/eGPU/comments/8p2jpp/huawei_matebook_x_pro_hp_omen_accelerator_gtx_970/ https://egpu.io/forums/builds/huawei-matebook-x-pro-i7-hp-omen-accelerator-with-gtx-970-4gb/ (it's worth noting that I have also tested the configuration with a GTX 970 and this made no difference.) - Thunderbolt 3 is fully enable in bios and eGPU connections are fully enabled within the thunderbolt software. - All my thunderbolt 3 drivers and software are as up-to-date as I can find. I first updated everything from the laptop's support page and then after that failed I went in search of drivers from elsewhere, still to no avail. - I have followed the setup proceedure of the eGPU to the letter. First of all, I have setup this eGPU before, with my other laptop, so I am familiar with the setup and I know exactly where it is failing. Here is the link for the setup instructions; https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c05573720 The issue occurs at step 5, when connecting the thunderbolt 3 cable to the laptop. There is an initial connection and the eGPU powers on as expected, but then the connection fails, I hear the windows disconnection sound, and the eGPU powers back down after about 1 second. I believe the problem is with the firmware version of the thunderbolt 3 controller. When I have the eGPU and the laptop connected via thunderbolt 3 cable, if I proceed into the thunderbolt software and view the 'about' section to see system details, the firmware version is listed as 0.00. I cannot find any firmware updates for this laptop specifically, and when I try firmware updates designed for other laptops with the 15BF thunderbolt controller, they fail claiming that they there is a system incompatibility.
  3. I really like the long battery life, though my favourite thing is still it's waterproofness, love the concept! Would really love to win this phone guys! Also, dbrand is awesome for their custom skins, the phone looks fantastic!
  4. while I really like the customisability of the UI, it's gotta be that screen that I like the most
  5. Okay thanks guys... So a Titan black would handle the 3 monitors fine?
  6. I'll be doing a build soon and I want to use a 780 ti as my graphics card. The only issue I'm having is that I'll be running 3 Monitors, and at that point I'll could reach the 3gb on the 780 ti... Do I need to go for a Titan black or will there be a 6gb 780 ti?
  7. Hey guys, I building a pc into a desk soon and I want to run a USB hub/ station from the motherboard onto my desk for connectivity. It can run from a SATA port, a usb 3 port or t a thunderbolt port, I was wondering what you guys thought about which one would be the best to use for this? I know that belkin has a thunderbolt usb station that is pretty great, but it's also pretty expensive.... any Ideas guys?
  8. Hey guys, I'll be doing a custom build soon, long story short, I'll be building a pc into a custom designed and built desk and I need a USB 3.0 hub/ station to be on the desk to connect external hdds, ssds, usb flash drives etc. I was hoping for something more than just a USB hub that runs from a USB port on the mobo, as this would have a bottlenecked bandwidth (the maximum bandwidth of a single USB 3.0 port). Thunderbolt II IS an option for a connection to the mobo, but the only station I know of that runs Thunderbolt into what I want is one that belkin makes, and it's pricey. What would you guys recommend as a solution to this? essentially I'm looking for whatever has maximum bandwidth speeds for multiple drives, for the least amount of money. Ideal budget is less than 100 euros ( about 140 US dollars) but I am willing to break that for something special. Thanks Guys! also, the motherboard I'll be using is an Asus z97 WS, not sure if that helps but it can't hurt.....
  9. So I'll be building my first PC a couple of months from now, I've done plenty of research and I know pretty much all of my components, I'll be doing a mixture of Gaming and some light workstation use like video and audio editing/ rendering. Up until now I've been looking at the 4770k (it needs to be the 1150 socket because of the motherboard I have chosen) but when I heard about the Haswell refresh I'm now thinking about the 4790k when it comes out. What do you guys think??
  10. There are a lot of great things about this phone, like the unmatched build quality that I'm happy to see HTC improving on, but the single feature that I appreciate most is the front facing speaker configuration :-D I would love to win one of these :-D
