OPG Godsend's Achievements

  1. Everyone seems to be on the same page for what can('t) be done. However, you can try buying a laptop cooling pad. Near the end of my old laptop's life, it would get so hot it would shut down. $10 cooling pad from Menard's remedied the problem. I don't know how far it dropped the temps, but it was at least far enough to keep it from shutting off. Plus, if it doesn't work, you're only out $10, so no big deal.
  2. It usually works pretty well, except with metal which makes it stay at around 90-100% because the music is constant rather than up and down like most other types of music. However, some songs that have a lot of bass, regardless of their actual loudness, will also keep the lights at 90-100% and it bugs the hell out of me. I want to see them hit 100 with the bass of course, but then I want them to drop back down to the actual music's level rather than sit there. Does anyone know of a way to edit the sensitivity? 3rd party software, registry changes, whatever works.
  3. Make sure you've got the newest BIOS (same thing everyone says, annoying, but usually effective) Do all the usual diagnostics, place RAM in different slots, make sure all cables are plugged in especially the two 6-pins if it has them, try different PCI slots for your GPU if your MoBo has them. After all that, if it's still not working, you gots'a problem.
  4. Are you seeking validation or confirmation? Don't let other people's opinions shape what YOU do, think for yourself. If you're looking for information to make your OWN opinion on the matter, here are some back and forth facts; - It's illegal + Stealing a digital product doesn't actually take a physical object, so there's no loss on the company's end - You're stealing from people that invested their talent and passion into their product (some companies... eh, no talent or passion, but still) + There have been statistics that show that people that pirate games would have never bought it in the first place, so there's still no monetary loss for the developer/publisher - You're clearly ashamed of yourself and are seeking validation/confirmation, thus, even you clearly understand what you're doing is wrong + If you don't have the money to purchase it, you still get to enjoy it without giving the devs their deserved/owed money - Criminal charges may leave you with a felony record, accompanied by up to five years of jail time and fines up to $250,000 There. Use your own head to make your own decisions.
  5. Something easy to check before you follow what everyone else is saying (what they're saying is definitely most likely, btw) go to your GeForce Control Panel and make sure you don't have one of the V-Sync options enabled. Normal V-Sync shouldn't do this, but one of the other selectable styles of V-Sync might.
  6. This might not be helpful, but taking this entire post into account, I think the best advice I can give you is to STOP TOUCHING YOUR MOTHERBOARD ?
  7. I checked out some benchmarks on Youtube for you, your performance (depending on your settings) doesn't seem to be wrong for your GPU.
  8. A solid 120? Do you have V-Sync on with a high-refresh rate monitor? My 144hz MSI MAG241C can give me weird VSync numbers like that.
  9. What game? What part of it isn't running smooth? What's the normal FPS and what FPS is it when it isn't working the way you think it should?
  10. I just submitted an RMA request through email each time, then they'd email me a label - the only human I talked to through this was a CyberPowerPC tech support dude. (If anyone wants to follow up on this and get more info, please message me or something, I don't want to take over Nauco's post)
  11. The second time, I was very angrily telling myself that they didn't even replace it, they just sent it back to me. So, for the third time, I took a marker and put a few dots in different areas of the MoBo. The one I received after the third time, didn't have those dots. I genuinely believe I was unlucky enough to get three dead boards.
  12. I hope you don't have the same problem, but I had to RMA my MSI x470 Gaming Plus THREE times in a row.... So you might not want to rule that out unless you can test the MoBo with other parts EDIT: It was a DRAM error all three times...
  13. $39.50 - 3 120 mm RGB case fans w/ led strips ( https://www.amazon.com/LEDdess-Controller-Coolers-Radiators-Control/dp/B079JFHQMS/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1550596740&sr=1-3&keywords=rgb+case+fan ) $34.99 - 5 120 mm RGB case fans (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-RGB123-5-Wireless-Airflow-Adjustable/dp/B07HCZ5WKJ/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1550596740&sr=1-7&keywords=rgb+case+fan ) $36.99 - 6 120 mm RGB case fans ( https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Intelligent-Addressable-Adjustable-Controller/dp/B07HK88YK6/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1550596740&sr=1-9&keywords=rgb+case+fan ) Honestly, just type in 'RGB Case Fans' on Amazon and sort by price, then you'll be able to pick out what you want instead of waiting for someone to stumble upon your preference.
  14. Honestly, my opinion on peripherals is next to worthless. I use a Skorpion K2 Mechanical Keyboard - $79 ( https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/page/skorpion-k2/ ) and the Elite Pro M1 131 RGB 8200DPI - $59 ( For some reason there isn't a permanent link to this mouse, but it's in the CyberPowerPC's store ) I very much enjoy both of them and have absolutely 0 plans to look for any others. *BUT*, the reason my opinion is worthless is that this mouse and keyboard are the only 'aftermarket' peripherals I've ever bought. The keyboard's switches feel great and the mouse fits my hand perfectly - But this could be my total ignorance in all things 'peripheral' fooling me. Aside from others on here or other forums giving their suggestions or preferences, you can always go to a BestBuy or whatever you have in your area and try them out yourself, even if their inventory is obviously smaller than the internet, you'd still be able to get a feel for the type of keys you want (switches, membrane, etc...)
