Your problem sounds like the same thing that's been happening to me. I'm almost positive it's your Internet.  

       I'm on DLS @ 5 Mbps, if I get more than one police helicopter on me the game starts to lag.  If the cops are not on me I get 75-120+ FPS any where on the map. It"s only a problem online.  In single player mod I'v never had a problem.

I know it's not my system as I'm running 2 EVGA 980's and a I7 3930k .   If you have fast internet , I would check your firewall settings.  Hope that helps ya out.

I have Two MSi GTX 580 lightning 1.5Gig cards. I ran them till the 980 came out and now am running two EVGA 980 FTW in SLI. I have to say they still work great, been thinking of small build for them, tho a bit power hungry and HOT.

3D vision only works @ 120Hz. Each shutter runs @ 60Hz . 

I have two EVGA 2986 FTW  980's and LOVE them .  

I upgraded from two MSI 580 lightnings and it was a massive improvement . I have only gotten coil-whine during 3D mark benchmark , no coil-whine on valley , a little on load screens for games when the FPS go's above my refresh rate.

They are the 1.5G, Wish I had got the 3G cards but they were sold out when I built this PC in 2011.

Ok , Put my old 580's back in. Had a problem with one of my 980's so I had to RMA  So here are my two MSI GTX 580 lightnings in SLi with GPUz this time and a better OC.

Not bad for an older card.

Had some time to Play with these new 980's . Thanks for the tip Jumper118.  Boosting  the memory helped a lot.

Watch Dogs has almost no SLI support . I bet you will get better frame rate if you disable SLI. I have two 980's and this was the case for me. 

I haven't over clocked yet on the 980's.  Just ran the stock over clock so far.  Going to play with it this weekend and see what I can get out of it. So far I'm happy with it

Stock. Cant remember off hand. I never mess with the memory speeds, just the core clock.  

I use the mouse x axis on the throttle for yaw.

For Star Citizen I use Warthog HOTAS .  Every thing els "non flight sim" Mouse and keyboard .

I'm definitely going to be a merchant.  Going to need people to protect my Merchantman ship. Glad to see we have some guns for hire.

I'v had my 2 GTX580 Lightning's since 2011 and there still going strong. Only trouble I have right now is if I try to run new games in surround.   Might have to upgrade when 980 ti comes out.

      So I left my PC to watch a movie and when I get back my "What to watch" is full of Channels instead of individual clips based on things I watch. Based on what I have seen I'm not sure that I can watch Youtube any more. This new format is just horrible IMO.  I know it's not really news . Just wanted to see if anyone els feel the same way.     Source "me my self and I"
