  1. Currently ther is not a wait for the one plus one I am not sure how long they will keep it open but if you have been thinking about it now would be the best time.
  2. Your correct on the watermark part but I found an easier way just post it with the pictures of us with the device. I am not trying to copy right this. Basically it was making a water mark I just couldnt remember what it was called but also trying to get tips to what I could add besides a watermark to prevent the images from being edited to where the watermark is gone because with photoshop that would be easy since they were created in photoshop sorry for the vagueness
  3. No the idea isnt new, more like just these images, The actual idea and design is not mine anymore since its a school project they own the intellectul property actually so I could care less if it is out there however I want to keep the only images marked as the group that created it. I just dont know how
  4. I actually made a cooling system for the arm for my architectural class and made it work off of a swift tech water pump and am really wanting to share this with the community becaues it works in theory and the concept model worked great, it is not a final solution but I would really like to share. What id like is for some tips of how I can keep this from being not necessarly copied, but protect the concept without a patent like Image wise so no one can claim this as theirs. Maybe something I could put over the images or something? What I have to show is actually 2 boards showing the concepts, the drawings, how it works, model pictures, and a video of how this works. Any help would be appreciated Also what set of forums should this go on?
  5. I have a samsung ssd so the software samsung magician tells me I think it reads other drives as well so that might be a quick way to check I am sure other softwares can tell you though.
  6. Just curious what a resonable amount of datat written to your ssd or hard drive would be over of your drives? I know this varies by individual so include things like number of years, months, and weeks you have had the drive or ssd, as well as how long ago you actually started using them. I have had my ssd for about 2 weeks and am currenly at 1.52 terabytes of written data.
  7. Those type issues could would be hard to do however this is just an idea it does not have to literally cool off a human arm however in theory it could. There is a military vest you can buy that does the disappating of heat idea without power but if I remember correctly uses chemicals and some form of condensation I vaguely read it and it was mainly technology I was like that would take alot more engineering than we have time for. If your interested in it you should easily find information on it amazon sells it. The theory is really what counts for me though as the idea of water cooling a facade of a building works amazingly human skin? Not so much. Thanks alot that pump looks like it would work great ! Any idea on a power source for this?
  8. Hey forum guys and gals, I am working on this project for my studio class, and thought this would be the best place to get some input, not on the idea and concept so much but on picking a water pump. Feel free to put some input in tools to use with this also. THE CONCEPT: Our project is to make a device of some type and make it work. This device will then relate to some type of design that will be accomplished later, after this project. The actual concept is to use tubes and a water pump to cool down a human arm. The tubes will range from probably 1/4, 5/16, 1/8, and maybe IV tubes connected together with the idea of viens as inspiration. The connections will be made into lines no metal connections (being more organic looking than steampunky). The idea is that the running water passing through high thermal conductive tubes will cool off the skin or raise heat with a simple heat addition(would not be applied to this) only concept of cooling. Dont take this as a literal working project because there is alot of issues with the idea. But having the tubes spread out like veins and a large surface area of contact between the tubes and skin would transfer the heat in arms and then air would take the heat out by passing over the tubes. The Problem: I am looking for a water pump that is small enough to put on an arm and circulate water through the tubing. The budget here is around US $130 me and my project partner will be splitting the cost being college students trying to keep this cheap.
  9. Finally got this to work. Apparently the samsung software just read the hard drive as having a bad sector I restored to factory on the hard drive retried samsungs cloning software and it worked. I just left it alone and its working great so far. I have decent speed and very happy.
  10. the bios settings are wierd like you have to write out the file path for your hard drive or ssd in order to set the boot priority vs just having it list the devices and select the order. I doubt the ssd has bad sectors its brand new and was working for a bit until I tried to reset it. I am going to try samsungs data migration tool then if it doesnt work I am going to use their maintence software to check the ssd for bad sectors. The sata cable is fine as well I have used the corsair cable and software on two other computers without an issue its just this one is giving me way to much problems.
  11. I have been trying to upgrade my new laptops hard drive to a ssd, I have been trying since 5pm its now f**king 2am and still no luck. The laptop is a asus g750jm-ds71 with a 1tb hdd. I have used a usb to get the recovery image from asus backtracker software but when I put the ssd in and try to load the recovery image on there it comes up with an error failed to recover the systems factory default settings. I have tried cloning the hard drive to the ssd with samsungs data migration software. The ssd is a samsung 840evo and when I use it the program says the hard drive has bad sectos and cant copy it which is bs. I have also tried using corsairs cloning software I bought a few months ago I literally just finished cloning it and it still does not post and says there is an error and will not go past a blue screen saying to install a recovery media any idea? I had used the samsung software and got the ssd to post however I restarted the laptop with the usb in it that had the recovery data and then it would not even show up anymore. Any one got an idea of how I can get the os on the ssd?
  12. The main programs I use would be Revit, and auto cad and most of our rendering is done on cpu not gpu especially in Revit, it also has cloud rendering now for free which helps. Also i think Rhino doesnt use much gpu but I am not clear on its power usage because it runs off one core even on multi core systems which blows my mind how that works. With more cpu based rendering would the better gpu really help that much? or would it only help with rendering on 3ds max and photoshop in certain processes?
  13. THE PROBLEM I have two laptops one the fan bearings are basically crap now and it just makes a bunch of noise but cools pretty well still, but I am a college student so cant use it for class and the noise is annoying. I also have a dell but I think the thermal paste is messed up or going bad or something because its over heating with when the computer is used with a moniter or I am in full screen to long on videos. So basically I need a new laptop and neither of these are really powerfull enough for the 3d modeling and photoshop work I do. I have sort of figured 2 out that will fit my needs, but I AM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS IF YOU CAN CONVINCE ME THEY FIT MY WANTS BELOW. USAGE I do alot of CAD, Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, and Photoshop work, probably gonna look into 3ds max soon as well. The work I do is all custom on the 3d side so I am working the program in ways it wasnt really designed to handle and so it takes a toll on the laptops and freezes way to much for me to be effecient in school work so its time to upgrade. Wants I am looking for a laptop with great cooling and warrenty if I can get it because I will be carrying this around alot but most gaming laptops are heavy idc, I will be using this at a desk 78% of the time so portability is just so i can pick it up and move it from my apartment to the classes I will have which is like a 2 minute walk from my apartment (I live on campus). The warrenty I just want one that if it messes up I know itll be fixed or replaced, I have had warrenty issues already with my toshiba with the fan and hard drive. I also need an ssd for speed and 1 tb for space or more than 1 tb but really 2 hard drive slots would work best.SSD will be used for os 8.1 till 9 comes out probably with support for my programs. The hard drive for file saves and such, may get a nas for backups or just external setup. Budget is around $2000 US max but thats the absolute limit with taxs and I have a hard time justifing getting a $2000 laptop. For those of you saying I should just build a Desktop I am going to next semester=] but need something portible for classes and that I can run what i need in class then use the new desktop for power usage;). The ones I have looked at most are the ASUS G750 series because they have two fans for cooling and massive exhaust, plus two copper heat pipes one for gpu and one for cpu but I know 3d modeling uses alot of power and will put out a crap ton of heat so thats why i am looking at these models. The two models are the G750 JM and G750JS. I will also buy a bag to fit these from asus just because I know it will fit and it looks big enough to carry my stuff unless you guys can pick out a good messanger bag these fit ? or better suggested laptops G750JM has a slow hard drive so I have found a samsung ssd for 130 on amazon to upgrade it to. Has a quad core, and 860M graphics processor 2gb. also comes with 12 gb ram. Laptop bag is the same as above, laptop-> http://www.amazon.com/G750JS-DS71-17-3-inch-Gaming-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B00IEV85OU/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1407827754&sr=1-2&keywords=asus+g750 all together without a warrenty addition just the asus factory warrenty and the warrenty for adp that comes with it costs $1885.09. I am looking for any suggestions, experiences with these laptops or other gaming laptops, and what you guys think woud be best for the money and any experiences you guys have had with gaming laptops and thermal problems or warrenty issues. OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS FOR OTHER BRANDS. Thanks ahead of time!
