  1. Do you mean AM5? From what I've seen its pretty expensive for not much benefit right now, but I don't mind paying a bit more if its worth it in the long term.
  2. I've already made a similar post but I realised I have a bit more budget so I've swapped around some of the parts - I'd just like someone to have a look over. Thanks Budget (including currency): £1100 for PC and around £350 for the monitor. I can go a little bit over if necessary Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming (BF1, RDO, BO3), some Quest 2 VR games and some emulation. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I've included the 1440p monitor I'm looking at, I already have a 1080p which I'm planning on using as a secondary monitor. I already have keyboard, mouse etc. I wanted a white/pink thing but there's no point in spending much extra money for it. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor (£124.50 @ Amazon UK) CPU Cooler: ID-COOLING SE-214-XT 68.2 CFM CPU Cooler (£19.98 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£105.01 @ Ebuyer) Memory: Kingston FURY Renegade 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (£48.48 @ Ebuyer) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (£49.99 @ Amazon UK) Video Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 319 Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB Video Card (£493.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower Case (£89.00 @ Computer Orbit) Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 PE 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£97.82 @ Amazon UK) Monitor: Gigabyte M27Q 27.0" 2560 x 1440 170 Hz Monitor (£349.00 @ Computer Orbit) Custom: Reaper Cable Sleeved PSU Extension Set - Power Supply Extensions - 1x 24 Pin/ 2x 8 Pin/ 2x 6 Pin/ 1x 4+4 Pin - With Combs - 30cm (White & Pink) (£34.99 @ Amazon UK) [Looks nice lol] Total: £1412.76 Thanks :))
  3. My laptop died on me so I'm building a desktop to replace it, I'd really appreciate if someone could have a look over my parts, thanks Budget (including currency): Around £900, but I'm willing to go a little over Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll mainly use it for gaming (Battlefield 1, Read Dead Online, Spiderman), some VR games (Pavlov, blade and sorcery) and emulating switch games. I'll also need it for a comp sci degree, but I imagine a decent gaming rig will be good enough for that too. Other details: The monitor I have right now is 1080p, 144Hz. I might buy a 1440p one later. I don't need to buy any other peripherals. I was going for a white/pink aesthetic and I don't mind spending a little bit more for looks, but most white parts I can find are way more expensive for no good reason. These are the parts I've picked out: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor (£126.97 @ Amazon UK) CPU Cooler: ID-COOLING SE-214-XT 68.2 CFM CPU Cooler (£19.98 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550M-K Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (£79.98 @ Ebuyer) Memory: Kingston FURY Renegade 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (£47.97 @ Amazon UK) [I'd like this in white with rgb but I can't the same specs for a reasonable price] Storage: Crucial P3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (£37.97 @ Amazon UK) [I've also got a 128GB M.2 that I salvaged from my laptop which I'm planning on using as the boot drive] Video Card: XFX Speedster QICK 319 Core Radeon RX 6750 XT 12 GB Video Card (£342.00 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower Case (£89.00 @ Computer Orbit) [I think this comes with 4 fans] Power Supply: MSI MPG A750GF UK 750W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular PSU Power Supply (£83.99 @ BoxUK) [This is out of stock atm, but I plan on ordering the parts in about a month so hopefully it'll be in stock by then] Custom: Reaper Cable Sleeved PSU Extension Set - Power Supply Extensions - 1x 24 Pin/ 2x 8 Pin/ 2x 6 Pin/ 1x 4+4 Pin - With Combs - 30cm (White & Pink) (£34.99 @ Amazon UK) )[For aesthetics] Total: £875.84 Thanks :))
  4. A while ago, my laptop shut off whilst and wouldn't turn back on, and I noticed a burning smell. I sent it to cyberpower for an RMA and got it back today, along with this message: "The laptop was diagnosed and needed a new battery, we've queried manufacturers and unfortunately this battery isn't available anywhere anymore, the laptop can't be repaired so it was returned back to yourself. Sorry about that." I've tried disconnecting the battery entirely and connecting it directly to the wall, but this didn't work. Would I be able to replace the battery with a third party one, or could I at least do something so its usable whilst plugged in? I've attached a photo with the battery and back of the laptop, but sorry in advanced if I haven't included any necessary information. Thanks
  5. No. I've got my CPU undervolted but I've had it like that for a while and until now it's been fine.
  6. For a couple of days I haven't been able to play TF2 or LFD2. Whenever I try to launch them. I'll press play on steam, my screen flashes as if it's trying to go full screen and nothing happens. I guess it's got something to do with source/valve games but CS:GO works What I've tried: I've tried using various launch options, such as -novid and -windowed but that didn't work (however they opened a white window which crashed immediately) Verifying TF2's game files Reinstalling TF2 Closing my antivirus (Kaspersky if it makes a difference) Setting an exception for my steam folders on my antivirus My specs are: Intel I7 8750H 16GB 2400MHz RAM RTX 2070 (I'm on a laptop if it makes a difference) EDIT: I've fixed. All I did was download someone else's gameinfo.txt file, replaced mine with it and verified my TF2 game files. This worked for TF2 and LFD2
  7. I've managed to fix it, not exactly sure how though. Basically, I realized Windows Explorer was taking up 16% of my CPU and a decent chunk of ram (not sure why). I spent a couple hours last night trying to fix it but I couldn't figure out anything. I gave up and did a virus scan overnight, which found nothing. Restarted my computer, and it was fine. Absolutely no clue why. Get about 70 frames now, but I'll have to check again on better settings. Thanks for everyone's help!
  8. Nope, nothing unfortunately. Thanks for trying though.
  9. I tried but i still have the exact same fps Tried that as well, but nothing. I'm on version 451.67. I was having problems before I updated today as well
  10. I'm about to try that, just uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers first.
  11. I added the other screenshots, do they not show up for you? Anyway I added them to this as well
  12. Pretty much what the title says. I get around 40 fps with frequent drops on most servers . I've also begun having an issue where whenever I move my mouse (turning, moving items etc) which make the game unplayable. I've tried using different launch settings (-nolog -high -maxMem=14000 -malloc=system -cpuCount=6 -exThreads=12 -force-d3d11-no-singlethreaded), turning all my settings all the way down. and updating drivers. My temps are around 70-75C for both my CPU and GPU. I've tried googling but I cannot find anything. My specs are: Intel I7 8750H 16GB 2400MHz RAM RTX 2070 I have rust installed on an SSD if if makes a difference. Thanks!
  13. I have tried googling and I kind of gave up after a bit. Thank you!
