  1. Made sure that windows doesn't install its own drivers and tried it out with the new ones. Still doing it. But thanks for the help so far! Gonna monitor my gpu frequency later.
  2. oh lawd he comin (in reference to your pfp) xD

  3. So, I did make a post about this some time ago, but some things have changed. Here's a quick recap: Bought a RTX 2070 because upgrading reasons. Works fine and smooth in benchmarks. But seems to stutter in open world games. (Experiencing it in Far Cry New Dawn now) My old 1060 seems to work fine in those though. So I switched out my RTX 2070 for another one. The newer card has the same problems and the chances of both being somewhat faulty is slim. Things I did beside that: -Updated my bios -Memtest -Ran everything on stock (auto performance boost disabled) -Tested another PSU even though that one was much older -Checked my Temps (CPU hitting 65°c in HWinfo while playing taxing games/GPU around the same) -Checked background apps (eventually even did a clean install of windows.) -Enabling Vsync/Limiting the framerate (It seems to can't handle vsync at all. Even in low spec games it drops to 58 fps sometimes when playing with vsync with results in stutter. Limiting doesn't really do anything.) My Specs: GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8GB CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X MB: X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 @ 3000mhz PSU: Corsair VS 650 (seems to be a bad PSU from what I've heard.) OS: WIN10 SSD: Samsung 830 Series (256gb) Also: Ever since I updated my rig from a i5 4590 (Win7) to the Ryzen one very simple games like Minecraft seem to run very badly even when playing without any mods installed. Wolfenstein 2 almost runs flawlessly as far as I played it. Here's a short video of Far Cry not running as smooth as it should: It really isn't as bad in this video but believe me trying to get footage of it being disrupting is hard when trying to have fun. (It doesn't matter on what graphic-options I play these games on) Many thanks in advance!
  4. Ok.. scrap that after opening the Witcher again it seems to have returned. I think I just got lucky the first time
  5. Ok playing through the hdmi port "seems" to have fixed it. Was able to play at all Settings Maxed even with capped fps (which made everything worse before) Don't know if its the Display Port or the conversion to DVI. Could also be the fact that I plugged my rig into an actual poweroutlet and not a powerstrip.
  6. But... My RTX only has HDMI and DP output and both of my monitors are DVI only. The Screen I recorded that on was my TV because it was the only thing that had display port. Might just try to plug it in over hdmi later. Been using only 1 screen for some time, still stuttering from time to time though.
  7. Ok I think I found the main issue whenever I play Witcher 3 on my GTX 1060 there are no usage drops, of course the framerate is much worse but at least it runs smooth and consistent. But my RTX 2070 seems to stutter and drop them frequently. Could my RTX be faulty or is there some glaring problem in my build that makes it clash with something else?
  8. Oh my. So... I tried out using my old GPU (GTX 1060) and i only plugged in 1 of my 2 screens, the one with a display port. The stutters seem to be completely gone. On ultra and low. Edit: See post below
  9. I reinstalled my graphics drivers like 3 times already but yeah i forgot about checking if these apps are running in the background. Don't think so though because this system is wiped clean of any antivirus software right know.
  10. So, I tested out another PSU. At first I thought it fixed it, however I probs got lucky. So it still dipped randomly in GPU usage ( by not much but w/e ). But on the other hand that OTHER PSU isn't new either so what did I expect. It's some 6+ year old 700W Thermaltake one, wasn't used much though. But what I'm asking now if the usage drops whenever it stutters.. why is it dropping in the first place? Thanks for the suggestions so far tho.
  11. Yeah I heard some bad things about the VS series. Will look for a new one and see how it goes.
  12. Well here are my temps it shot up to 76°c when i started the game up but while in game it barely hit 70 (GPU and CPU) that usage dip came from me going into the game menu by the way. But: It does dip by 7-12% when it Stutters (GPU usage)
  13. Heya tech community! I'm here to get help troubleshooting a problem that has been buggin me for some time. So here's a little context: A couple of months ago i upgraded some stuff rig (everything except PSU/SSD) because my old one was not that up to date. Also recently I got a RTX 2070. I thought to myself: "well now I can finally play some games on their max graphics!" Well I kinda can in most games there's this very inconsistent stutter. I just want to know what the roots of these stutters are. Here's a Video-example of them happening in Witcher 3: (These clips came together from around 30min of gameplay. I of course cut out most of the gameplay, only showing when the stutters happened. At the beginning of the Video I was playing on the lowest settings possible, around the 1:30 minute mark I set them to max. These stutters are not bound to Witcher 3 because it seems to happen in games like Skyrim SE, Monster Hunter World and Hitman too just less frequently) Also everytime it stutters, it seems to drop GPU usage... I know that my CPU is hot but keep in mind that its with the 10°c offset and its not throttling. My Specs: CPU - Ryzen 7 2700x @ Stock (Auto Performance Boost) GPU - MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z RAM: Corsair Vengance (2x8) 16GB DDR4 @ 3000MHz MOBO: X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming PSU:Corsair VS650 SSD:Samsung 830 256GB Limiting the framerate makes it somehow worse. Help is much appreciated!
