  1. Hi. I recently overclocked my 3570k to 4.2 GHZ on a maximus V gene using a -.005 offset voltage. I also turned load line calibration to regular (0%). The overclock seems stable, but when doing normal tasks like web browsing, my Vcore jumps from 1.23V max to 1.0-ish volts, and the CPU frequency switches anywhere from 2.5 to 4.2. When I run prime 95, it stays at 4.2 and the voltage is 1.52V, completely static. The jumps when i'm doing normal browsing occur multiple times per second, so I'm worried that this may hurt the life of my CPU. I want to keep the turbo and downvolting when idle features on, but I don't want it to switch every single second, is there anything I can do?
  2. I don't really comment much on videos like this but WHY are there 2 minutes of straight advertisements in a 6.5 minute video (not to mention the 20 second introduction). I'm not trying to be bitchy and I understand that you guys have to make a living, but inundating videos with LONG ads like this isn't the way to go, it just turns users away. I can deal with it in longer format videos like the whole room water cooling, because i'm getting more content per ad minute, but almost 40% of a video being ads? No thanks.
  3. Nope, I disabled CSM, fast boot, and USB fast boot all at once. The issue was still there.
  4. Hi all, I've had this problem for quite some time now, but I didn't really think i needed to fix it since it hasn't been a major annoyance until now. The problem is as follows: Important Hardware: Asus Maximux V Gene (z77 motherboard with 3570k porcessor) Linksys wusb300n Wireless N adapter The Issue: Every time I boot, during the POST processor, it essentially freezes up showing me the asus logo for a good 45 seconds. What I Know What's happening is the motherboard is doing something with a USB device, as indicated by the POST Led on the motherboard. When I take my adapter out, it boots quickly Every single USB port with my adapter plugged in will cause this issue I have tried most of the options in the UEFI relating to USB and quick boot, nothing has helped me so far. I do not have the drivers for the adapter installed, but I don't think that's the issue. I have updated my BIOS to the latest version, and have all the correct ASUS drivers as well, so I'm not really sure how I can fix this. I hope someone who has experience with this issue is able to help me, since it's a pain in the ass to unplug the usb every time I boot. Thanks!
  5. Link: http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/24/4458644/disney-sony-on-demand-streaming-korea Summary: Sony and Disney have started a trial in Korea to stream movies that are still in theaters. They're still gauging interest in the US and the UK. Insight: This would be a great move from sony, and it something that people would love to see. However there are some setbacks. For instance, there is nothing stopping people from inviting 5 people over to watch a movie on their big screen TV, which would effectively mean that 5 people would pay $12 instead of $60. This can be resolved with Microsoft's patent for detecting the number of people in a room, but the infrastructure is still not there.
  6. Thanks for the cool contest, Linus. HTC rocks for making this happen.
  7. I'm just curious as to what other people are getting. Anyone?
  8. I dont' think you read what he posted... It looks like your second card has less load than your 1st card (the clocks are higher/ the second card is downclocking due to no load). I'm really not sure if those temperatures are ok for your northbridge though.
  9. The original post says stock clock and voltage on a 3570k. Anyone running this cpu on air at stock?
  10. not really looking to overclock, I'd like to keep my parts unstressed for the most part. Also I'm not really looking to void any warranties by delidding the cpu :p Anyone here have temps?
  11. I'm using prime 95 small fft's. I'm not overclocked. Ivy bridge should be cooler than sandy bridge at stock clocks, that's why i'm concerned.
