  1. Thank you for the feedback. I have to truly consider going Ryzen now.
  2. Thanks for the confirmation on the cooling power ^^ was my biggest concern. so what im getting from this is that ryzen 5 3600 is better than the planned 9600k even at even price (motherboards included)
  3. cheapest 3600 i could find was 220 euros and tomahawk actually costed more than the z390 board (at 125 euros) Part prices are dumb over here apparently.
  4. So Im in the process of updating my old rig, i3-8100, 1050 gtx. Im not planning on going 1440p but would like to play modern titles with 120ish fps. At the moment most ideal setup for me is looking like 1660 super ( around 270 euros), i5-9600KF (around 230 euros) and AsRock z390 phantom (110 euros). I can re-use my old ram, ssd and hdd. Of course I also need a new psu but 650w corsair should be fine. My biggest problems are that is Noctua NH-U12S enough cooling for the cpu? (or is it even compatible with said cpu?) also are there better options for me? I rarely do anthing else than game on my setup and I really dont care much about rpg or any other nonsense, I'd just like optimal gaming experience on 1080p with as little cost as possible. Used market in my country is very poor so buying new is pretty much only option. Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated. Also I'm not set on stone with intel, its just the platform I'm most used to. Edit: i5-9600F is only 170 euros but its base clock seems quite a bit lower than the KF version. so im not sure how that would affect the experience?
  5. Im using 1050 and i3 8100 myself and fortnite is running like a dream. no complaints. im not 100%sure u can get those together with ur budget but seemed worth mentioning
  6. `they did? thats actually the thing i was talking about with the problem becoming less critical. awesome. Im sorry havent watched even 10% of the videos yet. They make alot of stuff Loving the scrapyard wars ^^ Hopefully they continue doing that.
  7. Im not an expert on anyways but in my honest opinion coming from years of experience on struggling with laptops and high thermals, I think your pretty much going to suffer from it a little especially with more powerful components you have. this problem has been getting better lately tho. my only solution to you would be adding another fan somewhere on your cooling pad or otherwise upping the intake. (extra or better fans) you could also consider lifting the bottom of the laptop up more to create more space for the intake in the bottom. ( quick google search showed me that it has an intake at the bottom)
  8. this really doesnt answer ur question at all but what kind of results your build is giving you? Im running similar setup with 1050 ( without ti) and slightly slower ram.
  9. This is actually one of my main problems. I know stuff but im not that tech savy tbh. Only thing i know is that i can add another stick of ram inside. and basicly i could upgrade the gpu or cpu if i wanted. but is there anything else i can or more important should do? Im actually very happy with the i3. such good cpu for its price imo
  10. Hello there new user just recently found LinusTechTips, 1st post So i've never got a real pc, and when I finally got the chance to get one late last year. I decided to go for the prebuilt for few reasons; Im not really comfortable building my own just yet and with the limited budjet I had it just wasnt going to be an option, with buying windows 10 among other things. So i had around 600 euros (or at the time of writing this around 688 USD) for the pc and Black Friday was around the corner ( yes we do have it even in Europe (Finland to be more exact)). I surfed for few days around popular online and irl shops and decided to go with the following setup from HP Pavilion "gaming" 690-0801no. It features the "new" 8th gen Intel I3-8100 processor, GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card, 8 gb DDR4 2400 MHz RAM ( only uses one 8 gb module so i can add another one), 128 gb SSD and 1TB hard drive. Im actually quite happy with what got for the money, but Im not really and expert on any of this stuff so i decided to go for it and post this thing here for you guys (hopefully) to critique me, compliment me or otherwise just give your opinions. eager to hear from you all ^^ All the hate for buying a prebuilt pc is accepted but i had my own reasons why i chose to go this route, and i can elaborate later if anyone wants to know more. So did i get "scammed" or did i actually buy a decent prebuilt rig that will serve me for atleast few years before i get comfortable enought to build my own? Im leaving one link for Userbenchmark here https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/13582899 ( if this is not allowed feel free to delete it, not really sure since its my first time here) Thank you.
