  1. I actually cross-posted this on r/HomeServer I got a reply with this link - https://www.mycablemart.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=124 - so if anyone comes across this post in like 3 years and needs some cheap patch cables, this is your answer. I actually hadnt thought about cutting one long one up, that would work too.
  2. I just need a bit of guidance, sorry if this does not necessarily fit this forum. I have a couple of PIs I need to wire up to a network switch. the run is only 6-8 inches long. I need 8 patch cables of this length. This will be a home server so im not making money off of this project and I am not spending close to $10 a piece for a 8" ethernet cable. although I am just an idiot teenager I really thought these short patch cables were common enough that you could find them affordably. Thanks for any help you can offer! TLDR: I need some cheap 8" ethernet patch cables
  3. I have tried everything however the bios, LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, absolutely REFUSES to update. I have tried 2 different drives, 2 different bios revisions, a 3rd party disc formatter and Asrock's "instant flash" (the only bios update utility available) just gets me "no file recognized" is there anything else you know of that could be the issue, im leaving tomorrow morning and I live 500 miles away. this is my 6th pc build and it seems like everything is F'd in this build
  4. It is a Phantom Gaming B550 board with an NVME ssd. I have not actually attempted a bios update however linux runs while in its portable "evaluation" state. im at a complete and utter loss right now so I will try and get back to you
  5. I have spent about 10 hours in total troubleshooting this beautiful piece of crap. for reference it is a 3900x and a 5700xt. I have reinstalled windows 3 times but I keep getting 0xc00000098 and 0xc0000001 error codes, these mean the system did not shut down / power up correctly. it prompts you to recovery mode where I have selected and tried ever option. I attempted a Linux install however I would occur the same thing as windows: after going through the installation the pc will restart at the beginning of the installer. that is after I have taken the installation stick out and made the boot order correct. the only time I could get Linux stable is if you press "try it out" in which It seems to run fine, but then will crash after a random amount of time. I can provide you with more info if necessary I am 500 miles away from home rn and am leaving soon, getting this pc up and running is mission critical. I am SO DONE with this and have not been able to find any help from anywhere else so any help would be appreciated.
  6. its a 1660 Ti so its Nvidia, Im running a 2600x aswell,
  7. Thanks, Its a mini Itx Board so Pcie is out of the question, but I honestly had no Idea there were Usb audio cards. I will try Driver easy.
  8. I Have Updated Drivers to windows reccomended, and ROG Drivers. Nothing. Bought a new headset. Nothing. Bought a new splitter. Nothing. Gone into a absolute CRAP TON of windows audio settings. nothing. The mic is the default, ive tried front panel audio, nothing registers. motherboard is an ROG Strix X470 Gaming-I and the headset is a kraken x. the odd thing is discords mic test will most of the time pick it up, sometimes it just turns to static, dont think my pc is that loud, and when I try to call someone, Nothing. Please Help ive been struggling with this for a week and a half now. ithink its possibly my mobo rn and I built the pc like 7-8 months ago, so my mobo is out of warranty.
