I thought we wanted stuff like Windows Defender to have active protection and not just check for already known signatures, that would be poor.

While I agree the stupidity is frightening, I wouldn't worry too much in this case.
    1. Both of these articles seem to be talking in the past tense and just late to the news story for whatever reason. This isn't new info as far as I can find in the article.
    2. Gov Parson has done this before.
This is a crazy dude, not necessarily the normal.
    3. The only reason I can see these pieces show up all of a sudden is the investigation that was started and mentioned in the article has concluded and sent it's findings to the prosecution office.
There's literally no new information other than the "investigation" is over. I wonder if they inspected any elements or viewed any sources in their investigation...
    4. He has NO chance of winning this in court. NONE, ZIP, ZILCH
He has no ground to stand on, legally or otherwise. If I remember the original reports of this well enough, I recall the reporter had reported the security issue early on and had waiting several months begging them to fix it and finally gave up and reported in the paper so they would fix it. The FBI is saying he's fine, Gov. Parson is a Whack-job and has nowhere to go with this. He just needed his five minutes defending his great state by pretending the reporter was an enemy hacker.

Yeah seems the recommended is 350W! Darn, I was so close, though. Thanks for pointing this out to me before I made a grave mistake.

Hey thanks a ton for the response! I always enjoy feedback.

I'm very sorry to hear that this rig is better than the one you're using! However, ironically, it also gives me some relief then, it should be able to suffice for a kid and some light browsing.

I'll try and run it with the PSU that came with the system, there had never been a problem with it, and it was working and functioning when I took it over. It was just very dirty and... yeah, the no label part made me sketchy about it. However, it really does seem like a sturdy old thing. Probably a old mass produced PSU originally intended for office use in OEM machines. How it ended here, I have no idea.

Sadly I am located in Scandinavia, and getting anything shipped here from eBay usually has a large cost with it, $20 or more. Unless it's a vendor from China, in which case it's only $4 but then also long shipping time. And the local supply of CPU's that'll fit this board is limited and the few that are, way overpriced. Although I fully agree with you an upgrade here would be nice, if anything just for the threat counts.

The memory, however, is ordered and paid for, hopefully I'll receive them soon. Thanks for input here aswell.

Still haven't found out what the PSU is. Funny story, I also have a 128GB SSD, that's literally just all black and with a label "128GB SSD". It's utter garbage and always was. You wonder who makes a product so inferior, that they don't even want people to know that they made it. The idea of that makes me laugh
    at least!

While I'll admit laziness, I have not looked this up, I don't think there's a board out there with a 775 socket that also supports DDR3. But I did pick up the order on the memory, so 8gb is on it's way!

Regarding the PSU, this is the one I am the most sketchy about. While it does SEEM to be very sturdy build, and while there hasn't been a problem with it, before I took it over, I might jus go get myself a newer one. I'm sure I can find a 300W supply somewhere for cheap. Should be enough to power this beast.

Brilliant idea about the SSD, that was also the plan! And my bad for not mentioning it. PNY CS900 128GB picked up for them. Aswell as 500GB HDD. Because why not, it's cheap.

Also, I'll try with the GT240 at first, if there are any complaints or issues setting up the system for them, I will move on to the 560.

Thanks so much for the answer! And apologies about the late response!

I have no experience with that one. I have a Xioami Mi A2 and I am extremely happy with it. It's about $200US
