  1. Update... So boinc version 7.14.2 just wouldn't connect after a fresh install on Catalina, no matter what I tried (from googling on the interwebs). But 7.16.3 (development version) seems to work flawlessly. So I guess I'll just have to use that for now...
  2. Yeah I've got the latest version. I just had a thought.... I haven't used boinc since I moved houses. My new connection may be CG Nat (not 100% sure). Does that play nice with the boinc client?
  3. Hey guys Does anybody have any idea why my boinc client isn't working on Mac OS Catalina? Is this a known problem? It worked fine on Mojave, but when I installed it yesterday it simply wouldn't work. Most of the drop down menu items were greyed out, and the little connection indicator in the bottom bar said it was disconnected.
  4. I’ve just returned from a break from folding due to moving, Christmas travel and a house that’s just a wee bit warm, and I come back to a bump of 30% ppd on the new core betas! Im stoked. Are we expecting more gains and streamlining from this core? Or is it pretty much just the same performance from a core from creation to decommission?
  5. ....and you have triple what I have for nearly the same period!
  6. Yeah I was just downsizing the image. Didn't realise how big the original pic was till I posted.
  7. Moved into my new place, finally back online and set up... sort of...
  8. I'm moving at present, so unless I tether my system to my mobile, I won't be crunching anything. Hopefully the fibre will be up tomorrow
  9. Yeah I must admit when I saw that, I thought surely that goes against the spirit of the event. For me at least, it seems like the emphasis should be on the number of people involved, rather than just big production numbers amongst the top producers (not that those people aren't amazing ). And anyone with an average gaming machine/GPU who commits to the event, should be in contention for at least the majority of the prize opportunities. These events should be about encouraging more people to take up folding, and maybe those people will go on to become some of the higher producers down the line.
  10. I checked your stats and you should qualify for a silver badge, which you can request anytime now on the 'F@H and BOINC Badge Request Thread'. As for the Folding month event badges, I'm not sure. I guess they'll be applied auto-magically sometime after the event.
  11. After 12 hours of observation, it looks like that did the trick. Thanks mate!
  12. I didn't have that set... No. Here's hoping that it fixes the problem! Thanks!
  13. My card is back to its old tricks again, falling off boost (down to 1500 MHz) whenever I open certain random programs (spotify etc), or even often when my monitor goes to sleep. Surely this is a simple setting somewhere? The second to last windows update seemed to fix it, now with the latest update it's back again
  14. @shaz2sxy, I intend to claw your imminent points lead back off you at some time in the future...
  15. Ahh, ok fair enough I was just basing it on my own card, which is a 1660 Ti Gaming OC, which actually comes in about 8w under TDP even when boosting (~112w (TDP = 120w))
  16. Really? That seems awfully high considering you're yet to OC it. I thought the TDP was around 160w?
  17. So if your 1050 Ti is hovering around the 200K-ish ppd then that sounds similar. The 1660 Ti is a great card... But it's annoying that it's takes such a big hit on the majority of the current WU's. I'm getting about 150K ppd less than I was a few months ago, unless I strike a 14180, then I'll get 670k-ish ppd
  18. Kinda wishing I'd shelled out the extra $$ for the 2060 now. Still contemplating adding a 2060 to my system before year's end.
  19. What sort of PPD is your 1660 Ti getting? I'm getting between 530 and 650K on mine at a non-OC'd 1950 MHz, averaging about 550K per day which feels kinda low tbh, but perhaps it's just the WU's I'm getting.
  20. Tackling China's terrible trade behavior has broad bipartisan support, even if Trumps strategy is flawed. The US as with many other global regions has significant and legitimate grievances with China on trade, and that's before we even broach security issues.
  21. Yeah, perhaps I was oversimplifying saying 'western'. What I really meant was they are potentially splitting their markets into two groups, and alternating updates between them. But as I said, this could be incorrect.
  22. I heard something along the lines of that they were alternating model refreshes between Asia and western markets, since they have a 6 month update cycle unlike most other manufacturers. Not sure if this is correct though.
