  1. Just watched that video and someone is selling one of the SAS 2308 controllers which should be able to handle the 4Kn drive for about 30EUR, I'll most likely buy that and end up using it. My original plan for this drive was to be used in my R410 which is supposed to end up running TrueNAS as my backup server for my R720 (I made a typo earlier saying it was a R710) and the SAS 2308 should fit into it just fine. Thanks for all the help everyone, when I get everything running I'll post an update here.
  2. I'll give it a try, is there a list with controllers that are 4k compatible? And yes I guess this explains how it was only 40 EUR...
  3. Doing that right now. I didn't even 4Kn was a thing or what it was for, however if I can make it can be made to work like I need it to be I'll be more than happy since I got the drive for a very good price.
  4. I don't think it is. Yes sure, i'll post that in a bit. This sounds very promising, how would I go about doing this?
  5. A dell perc h200 updated to the latest firmware, it's inside a Dell R710. No it wasn't.
  6. As the title states one of my 4TB drives only registers 2TB and I have no clue why. I have already tried to reformat it and change it from MBR to GPT but none of these things seems to solve the problem. I'll post a picture of the drive label and the information on the drive given to my by Seatools, the same information and results were given by CrystalDiskInfo. Any help finding out what is going wrong here is greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi everyone, I was looking for a way to deal with the problem described here myself and came across this thread and looked trough all the suggestions posted here. I tested multiple types of fabric, foam and other filter material and after having tested them I concluded that this 3mm sponge dust filter by far is the best bang for the buck I could find. Since this stuff is extremely generic and all over AliExpress it should be really easy to find, I bought a roll of 1M*2M for about 15EUR including shipping. Since this thread popped up when I looked this topic up on Google I decided to post my solution here instead of making a new thread, hope this is helpful to someone.
  8. I use guitar picks and the blue spudger on the middle left of the picture for things like Nintendo handhelds, don't think you need more than those two for most situations but since the picks didn't work you could try using the back of a butter knife (the non sharp side) i did this once or twice to a laptop BUT be extremely carefull not to stab anything.
  9. As mentioned in the post above, 125% and most uneven numbers cause this blurry behavior to appear. the solution would indeed be to drop the scalling to an even number but with multiple displays extreme UI zooming appears. which renders that solution completely useless for my use case. EDIT: moved picture into the post. This is a picture showing what the size problem looks like. problem being that i don't want that 124% to be forced on to the second display.
  10. Hey lads and gals, So a few weeks ago I finally bought a 1440p ultrawide and have now run into a problem I experienced before. Apparently, the text in some applications becomes extremely blurry when Windows text and UI scaling is set to 125%, the easy solution to this problem on my laptop was to set a custom scale factor at 124% or 126%. My problem now is that I'm using my old 1080p monitor as a second display and its UI gets zoomed in beyond reason since that custom scale factor gets applied to ALL monitors. Solutions I found: -Manually changing high DPI settings for each blurry app to Application controlled. -Going somewhere in the middle with the custom scale factor, for example, 112% for me personally. -Getting another 1440p display. (I borrowed one from a friend to test this, but buying another 1440p monitor just so my text isn't blurry and my UI blown is too expensive of an option for me) Solution that maybe works?: Within the options of the NVIDIA Control Panel under the Manage 3D settings, I found an option named DSR - Factors also know as Dynamic Super Resolution, setting this to 1.78x allowed me to make Windows think my second monitor is running 1440p? (not entirely sure how this works) I also set DSR - Smoothness to 27% as 33% seemed a bit too blurry to me. I was now able to set a custom scale factor of 124% and the UI isn't blown up anymore and the before mentioned blurry looking text in some apps is gone. I also noticed that within the Windows Display Settings the Rearrange your displays thing now showed my monitors being the same size instead of a small and big box. nice little extra I guess because now I get a seamless transition between the displays instead of an invisible wall at the top and bottom. Update 4/23/2021: I installed XPExplorer - Windows 10 DPI Fix and set it to Use Windows 8.1 DPI Scaling, with this now enabled and the DPI Scale: at 125% everything looks sharp, i orignally didn't use this fix as it would zoom in my second monitors UI. but now that I combined it with the above mentioned DSR I have the right desktop icon size, no blurry text, and correct scaling on my UI. If there is a way to set a custom scale factor per display instead of globally or an entirely different solution please tell me below, this entire thing is pretty annoying and i prefer a proper solution but so far haven't found anything that works well. 11. In simple words, over time thumbnails and titles became clickbait because that was the best way to make people click and watch your video's. At least back then people clicked on it because say the thumbnail looked flashy or something, nowadays your video simply won't be displayed by Youtube if it doesn't meat said flashy thumbnails and such. Honestly, I don't blame LMG for making clickbaity titles and thumbnails because they have to, Youtube would bury their content if they didn't. Next to that Linus has stated multiple times that he hates doing this but he has to in order for LMG to stay relevant and alive. (My native language isn't English so this post may contain typing/grammar mistakes)
  12. I tested multiple headphones I mentioned before and I like the DT990 Pro's the most, I have to buy a DAC/AMP to use it but I'm fine with that. Thanks to everyone who responded
  13. The sound is pretty good but they just feel weird to me, can't really explain but they just feel off to me.
