  1. if you got a spare psu id double check with a swap on that too just to rule out all options
  2. Also keep an eye on you temps to make sure throttling is not a factor.
  3. PPD is Pionts Per Day , so a grand total of all WU's points you have completed in a 24hr period. The 3950X is no slouch and then add a decent GPU to add more points on its time and you got yourself a decent performer. Maybe even a slightly higher electric bill too lol, thank you from the global community for you efforts!
  4. I Found the problem!!!!! Linksys routers can not use device prioritization otherwise it will not allow the F@H updates. Odd setting to cause all these issues but it was the only one that fixed it. Side note my power supply can not take the stress as 16 thread cpu and 2 rx580 active on medium setting hard resets the system, had to slide the power usage to light until the new one arrives. Will have to adjust slots in the morning for the time being , 1200w 80+ platinum on its way
  5. 1 what thermal compound are you using? 2 are you sure the fan curve of the cpu fan is set to ramp to 100% and at what temp dose it hit 100% 3 any overclock and/or extra voltage applied for any reason?
  6. Still no change on my main PC while a 10+ yr old Phenom 2nd pc still busy doing its thing, have no clue how to fix this and need fresh ideas how to fix this header issue.
  7. If you get the error of no available wu for your configuration then dont worry they went from ~35,000 clients beginning of the year to ~435,000+ clients currently and are agressively increasing their normal workload available.
  8. A lot of the times the overclocks can cause WU errors and the result to be rejected, i would not expect more then 10% performance boost for what will be a 50%+ increase in power consumption. Not worth pushing over-clocks in this type of work type, think like the crypto-miners do Under-clock-Under-volt-More physical GPU's for better efficiency.
  9. No allowing each gpu to act independently i believe is by far your best option, each gpu will get its own WU to work on. Make sure to leave enough free CPU threads (4?) available to keep the GPU's well feed with info.
  10. Getting a database lock and receiving some files but the WU's come corrupted or somethings up.
  11. Trying the Pause Norton Protection now 30 sec to next update
  12. I am Having the exact opposite issue as others are having where an older Phenom ii X4 b97 based system has been working away full tilt for days on various WU's. My main pc gets the following error ERROR:WU03:FS03:Exception: Failed reading core package header. Now in over a weeks time it has yet to be issued a single wu for either gpu's (2 rx580's) or the processor (Ryzen 7 1700X). When there is no WU's available for my type of system I get the other log error saying as such. I have tried to set the cpu into 3-4 thread cpu slots to see if it will grab WU's like the Phenom b97 has been but still get the error listed. Anyone have any ideas???? Id like to be able to help more if possible since the hardware is here and awaiting.

  14. Did you just blow the dust out or did you do a full teardown, clean, reassemble ? Dust very often can be conductive enough to really mess with boards after a while.
  15. Grab some thermal paste, look up the full teardown on the card and do a through teardown and cleaning. clean all the old thermal paste off and thoroughly clean the die. 92% isopropyl alcohol and a cheap tooth brush and very carefully clean the card front and back with something to gently pat it dry as you go. Look for any obvious thermal stress on the pcb and vrms. Be patience and reinstall the thermal pads, repasted the gpu, and reassemble the card. test to see if this fixed its issues. if it works then lookup performance thermal paste and pads for a more performance upgrade fix. Disclaimer THIS WILL VIOD ANY EXISTING WARRENTY IF YOU STILL HAVE ONE. For testing purposes a semi cheap thermal past will do or you can go with some good quality performance tim if you wish. Idle temps seem to high and suggest dried out or improper thermal paste application on gpu. good luck and give us an update if you find the cause/solution
  16. As they call it "the silicon lottery " could very well be in your favor and you could get to 1500 core but usually its with a water block solution so the die runs at a much lower temp then when air cooled. I was just suggesting start off conservative and while kombuster is running slowy move up the settings till it shows artifacting in the scanner. Its a sure fire way to find your individual gpu's limits. Good luck !
  17. There is a check mark to apply the setting that must be clicked before the setting is inputted to the card, do not jump to 1500 right away its an extreme long shot for that card. Get kombuster (dont think i spelled that right) add in for msi afterburner. Use afterburner software to adjust fan curves for a more aggressive ramp up and 100% fan much sooner as the temps above 60c will cause the card to crash when pushing the clock limits. Id start with 1425gpu 2075mem then tweak up slowly while looking for signs of artifacting in kombuster software. Finally once you see artifacting occurring you will have to back things off a little ways for total stability in all applications/games.
  18. Okay update for Arizona Sunshine and overall system stability, linked gpu fan curves together for additional cooling capacity as highest gpu temp dictates fan speed. Overclocks had to be backed off to 1425gpu 2075mem as the xfx card driving the Oculus is hitting 75C on some titles. Got the latest drivers released and things seem to be running quite well. Definitely need to invest into a water block for the xfx card im thinking as the nzxt bracket wont work for that pcb layout. Concidering using pcie 2 as monitor output so that the Oculus could go on the Strix card and then be liquid cooled but the VR is only part of my pc gaming uses.
  19. Use msi after burner and set a higher min fan speed, these are brushless fans and probably the noticeable pulse of the magnets that they drive off from at such an extreme low end of posible fan speed. Kinda can see the fans pulsing off a "rev limit" as they attempt to establish a 1% speed in rpms. Fan motors are not finite enought to really use that speed and during ramp up the over run the set speed, slow down and ramp back up. You can actually hear the individual poles pull as small bumps(could be the hubs pulling in and out from demand that are normally set in place by the little air resistance that they would be loaded by under lets say 30% start load. If that makes sence.
  20. Check the card over for a bios switch if equiped, maybe check Saphire's website for product spec. If equiped then with pc powered off full switch the bios selector. If a mined card then perhaps a mining bios botch or bug. If not then something somehow buggered up the card
  21. Another thing to check is the drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer and or amd. Chipset drivers can make or break a system so id go through the steps of checking bios, chipset drivers, and any other driver needed for your mobo.
  22. Remember if your montor is a 60hz refresh rate model your only going to see 60fps no mater now many more your gpu is capable of. Yes potentially you could make the gpu run at over 60 fps on some if not all games but really its just spinning the tires on the pavement with out really getting any real traction so to speak.
