  1. I like the ideapads gonna have to put those on my research roundup excel sheet. What about as far as the eGPU enclosure goes? The only one i've had any exposure to is the Core v2 that a friend has and Im not about to shell out $500 for a metal box.
  2. Thanks a bunch for the recommends. Ill be checking out some of the Dell XPS. Any recommendations as far as eGPU goes?
  3. I do like the lightness of the ultrabooks. Battery life isn't a huge issue as Im generally able to plug in where im going but ~5 hours wouldn't hurt. I'm willing to accept eGPU as an option as I was looking at those as a way to keep the laptop current into the future and upgrade towards the 20xx series in the future. I'd like to be able to play newer titles on the go (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Metro, Hitman, etc)
  4. Location: Western United States Budget: ~$2000 Preferred Max Weight: ~4lbs I understood that Razer's Customer Service suck the big one.
  5. I used to take my switch with me but the game selection is a little lack luster IMO. I'd like to be able to play single player games when i'm out of the house. Seem like that the only time I get to play them. If im on my desktop it usually Comp FPS's
  6. My current gaming rig is quickly approaching being obsolete (DDR3/R9 290X). I'm pondering doing a complete 360 in my setup. My Thoughts are to go with either a Razer Blade or one of MSI's offerings in the ultrabook category. I have a dual monitor setup at my home (To dock and play on my benQ!) and will be starting to travel more frequently. I don't expect to be breaking bench marking records but i'm confidant that these ultrabooks can handle playing CS:GO and Tomb Raider as well as newer titles. (Correct me if i'm wrong). Are there any glaringly obvious holes in going for this kind of setup? What else should I be considering?
  7. https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-core-v2 and https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-core-x Would love to see a video about these two items to go along with the videos you guys have on the gaming laptops already. A break down of expected card performance and which laptops to pair them with. Charging via thunderbolt, other eGPU options, etc.
  8. Linus has a few videos on "gaming" laptops check those out for some solid recommends. Looking at things like the Razer Blade/Blade Stealth, ROG Zephyrus, MSI's offerings (specifically the GS65 Stealth) These are all highly portable options that would be able to edit photos and more specifically video with no problems. Most of these laptops run in configurations above $1500 (not by much in certain configs), but certain configurations can certainly be had for under $1500 (razor blade stealth) Dell also has the XPS 15 which baselines at $1000.
  9. yeah the background knowledge is immense. The fact that you guys are putting this kinda content out there is going to turn a lot more people onto it. Myself included. I may just have to change degree paths now
  10. As someone who has spent way to long working with ugly grey Cisco switches. These NetGear switches are beautiful. The Web app is also very modern and sleek compared to some of the other web apps out there
  11. I am not sure about heat issues as I currently down own a Razor Blade/Blade Stealth. But in my research before buying one I did see one reviewer replace the M.2 Razor Blade 15 with the 970 EVO you mentioned above. The 970 EVO should fit as it is NVMe PCI. I would recommend this one with out a doubt and you can get them on amazon using LTT affiliate link and send the boys some cash. The 860 is older and also a lot slower. I'm not sure if it would be much of an upgrade in terms of speed. Storage capacity yes but it is far slower. Check out the Razer Forum as well this is a few people talking about swapping the SSD in the 2018 Stealth. https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/9irnz1/is_it_possible_to_upgrade_storage_on_an_early/ This guide goes over swapping the SSD and RAM in the Razor Blade 15 (2018) it should be similar to your situation as the slots are the same the Stealth is just smaller. https://theunlockr.com/2018/06/05/how-to-upgrade-the-razer-blade-15-ram-ssd/ Hopefully this information helped you. Its late for me so I apologize if my wording is confusing.
