  1. Then why also other brands are reccomended by Tonymac even though he used only Gigabyte motherboards?
  2. Will this build be somewhat reasonable for a person that uses his computer lightly (web browsing and word processing, watching some YouTube videos, viewing pictures?) This person wants OSX installed on their computer so I must be careful which part I choose right? 3. You should probably look into getting an Intel Xeon processor and Ecc ram on your server, xeons are better at computing and Ecc memory corrects small errors that may occur during the process. Note if you use ecc ram you HAVE to use a motherboard that supports Ecc, plus there are many types of Ecc, buffered unbuffered registered unregistered. Hope this helps
  4. Just installed windows 8.1 pro. When I right click on the taskbar this happens anyone know why?
  5. Go to sgpcmart.com or go to googoo.com.sg if you want to see prices in Singapore. have a good day
  6. Ok thanks for the tip, I was considering quadro but I was not sure if it would run a 4k and a 1080 monitor so I opted for a titan x lol
  7. But will a quadro be able to run a 4k and 1080p monitor?
  8. This build is for video editing. For the motherboard I wanted to choose the sabertooth x99 but I couldn't find it on pcpartpicker. What would you change to make it better? Also anyone can suggest a good 4k monitor to go with this?
  9. The company I'm working with has given me a 1000 dollar budget for a monitor that will be used for designing advertisement material such as posters, calendars, labels and editing promotional video; I would like that it had 4K resolution and accurate colors. The monitor is not meant for gaming in fact it will be used only at work. The shops where they sell monitors available in my country are the following: http://www.videopro.com.sg/products/index.php?cPath=60 http://banleong.com/sg/product/290 http://www.sgpcmart.com/displays What are your suggestions? Notice that the prices are in SGD and the budget is in SGD I'm building a custom workstation with this and I was wondering what was the best monitor for this purposes. I've heard about the ASUS PA329Q but unfortunately is not yet available in my country.
  10. Yeah I know that this is mostly a gamer forum, thanks for the suggestions, anyone recommends other forums to go to?
  11. So I was researching into workstation grade hardware but I realized I was a bit of a noob and its harder to find a vendor that sells the parts separately. Gaming Hardware is much easier to find. This is my task: Figure out the best workstation for a graphical designer. This designer is hired by a small-medium enterprise for designing logos, videos and promotional materials. The programs that he will use mostly will be adobe CC full pack. He will need to render videos and pictures in high quality fast and without crashing. This build will be the only rig in the office that will serve for design purposes. It must be nothing too crazy because he will not use other workload intensive programs. Budget: is quite low, no more than 2400 USD. CPU: What would you guys suggest? Going for an intel Xeon and ECC memory doesn't seem a bad idea, but I'm not sure if an i7 would be better, and if so which model? Motherboard: Usually an LGA 2011, planning at least 64 gigs of ram, double CPU board? ATX or bigger Ram: Which model is best for workstation grade? Any specific brand? ECC Ram? 64-32 gigs... GPU: I'm going for a Quadro, most likely a K2200, it seems mid-range and not a crazy amount of power which is not needed. Storage: Go full SSD or SSHD? at least 2Tb of storage since it is not connected to a media server only a mail one. Case: Any good case suggestions in mind? I must have a lot of usb slots and easily accessible and somewhat aesthetic since it is going to sit on top of a desk. Airflow, PSU: Going to think about it later I first need to know the basic parts. Sorry, my English is a second language.
  12. So I have a gtx 780 3gb in my rig right now that I built around one year ago. I've seen that the price is going down and I was considering that instead of buying a new card I wanted another gtx 780, therefore having a two card sli. I mostly want to do this for fun and I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new graphics card. Will a gtx 780 dual SLI be more worth the money and performance than for example a gtx 980? In my country i can get a gtx 780 for around 300 USD while a new gtx 980 would cost 700 USD What do you think?
  13. Yes I'm gonna try but I does it also while using spotify, steam, everything so it's probably the drivers not the browsers etc.
  14. In the last month a built a new rig and it worked just fine except the audio. After some trials I realized that when my computer downloaded or uploaded files to the internet the audio starts flickering; however it doesn't interfere with any audio played by the computer, it just flickers on top of it. In my setup I have a KVM switch that allows me to select two different inputs of audio and video and outputs one. So when I plug my laptop in I can select that and if I want to do gaming I select the pc. I tried to plug my speakers directly into the back of my case but that didn't work either. However when I try to plug headphones on the machine's front audio jack the flickering magically disappears. If I plug my headphones in the speakers it flickers even stronger in my ears. Knowing that the front jack works but the rear doesn't and I can't plug the speakers in the front because they are too far what can I do?? Here's my setup (probably it's the motherboard or the wireless adaptor, I still didn't try using an Ethernet cable) PC Operating System Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.50GHz 49 °C RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. 15. Because some people said that the asus had a bad cooling option being both air and water, while the evga with the acx cooler is better. Now that I have some money I want to test it myself so I will have two cards, so I figured out why not trying sli instead of selling the other card
  16. Hi I was wondering if a two way sli would work between these two cards Asus Poseidon Platinum gtx 780 3gb gddr5 EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC w/ EVGA ACX Cooler
  17. Ah yeah true I knew about the Nvidia 800 series, I didn't know about the CPUs though thanks for the info
  18. Really? I'm new in the market here in Singapore because I used to live in Europe. You mean that even making the change from SGD to USD the ones in the shop cost more than in the US? I think they are making some profit on the import of each part from outside the country. Well... which shop did you have it shipped from?
  19. Well, the new technology will probably cost a lot more than what I have now... and even if i can still wait, I think I'll better upgrade to a SLI bridge instead of buying a more expensive machine with new chipsets/generations etc . BTW what chips are around the corner?
  20. it is http://googoo.com.sg/search.asp and http://sgpcmart.com/
  21. Ok, so I was choosing the parts for a future gaming/streaming rig for my home. I am sure on the core components (motherboard, cpu, videocard) but I still have to decide the cooling, case and parts which I still didn't explore yet. But this is what I came up though. I was wondering which brands or types of ssd, coolers, ram, psu and keyboard/mouse in your opinion you think will br the best choice. I am going for a red and black color scheme, a windowed case would be the obvious choice, have any led fans recommendations? !! Prices are in SGD not USD !!
  22. I already thought about buying a CMstorm quick fire pro of the same series but I didn't know if it was good or not http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfirepro/
  23. I bet they are going to end up like Ukraine
