for sure 32gig ram is the new sweet-spot minimum.... give it 12 months i reckon you'll need 64gig. by the time you try to compensate for - current new game requirements - non optimised games - spyware - app backends - browser wasted memory you can attempt to hide this with faster hardware, for only so long.

for steam no the issue appeared to be the multiple redistributals i needed, - [dot net ] 3.5 through to 4.8.1 - directx runtime end-user also turning on legacy option yeah when i re-looked at it.... the desktop shortcuts had been altered to point at one drive ..... so ive deleted them WARNING for others though if file is identified as being in one drive and you delete it, it deletes all copies of the file from everywhere ( everywhere it is aware of ) - so you know need to be weary of deleting files, you may not find that file on your system. thanks to both of you

so now in steam i have same issue in windows 11 that i have in linux . click play, gme goes to launch, then just stops and play button comes back. thought id try a gog game no online requirement for the game get an error - make sure my-name personal is running on your pc, then try again - believe this error is related to onedrive ( from what i could find on the internet ----- why in the hell do i need onedrive running to run something already on my hard drive and doesnt need internet access to run it????

sorry ive now put the specific motherboard in the original post, i was setting up a completely new system from scratch. to be honest i was beginning to think i had a dud board.... because i was getting the logo and nothing else, until i gave it an OS to look at???? - that is i could get into bios, make some change, save it, then get the megatrends logo for 10 minutes. - had to use clear cmos to get back into bios settings????? very odd behaviour. so far the only way i have found to get the controller working was to do a complete windows 10 reset " keep nothing " option. makes sense, but also kinda difficult to guarantee your on the right track, i dont want to update with the wrong bios.

ok so i got this new out of the box motherboard B450M DS3H WIFI (rev. 1.4) Key Features | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global first post to bios screen says BIOS: American megatrends version: FA date: 04-10-2023 motherboard support page for bios updates lists ( motherboard support page from motherboard box ) -[ F1 ] 2019-11-12 through to - [ F65 ] 2023-06-19 is the system running yes, but having trouble with built-in bluetooth says devices paired ( xbox controller ) but controller is not inputting to games or xbox game app. im thinking i will have to clean install to get devices working properly. but i was trying to make sure there was no bios related issue that might cause it instead.

who knows..... - maybe because it reminds them of their phone - maybe because of the spyware - maybe because they cant just launch all their normal windows games they want to play - maybe they just hate how google is seeping into every corner of their electronic life, giving them less and less choices of comparable alternatives

Windows 7 unable to install because drives not available
cretsiah replied to SomeoneUser293's topic in Windows
are we talking DRIVERS aka graphics card and chipsets? or are we talking DRIVES aka nvme, ssd, hhd? there are drivers for windows 7 - for the motherboard ASUS Prime B450-a ii - graphics card RX 6600 8GB BUT NOT - for the APU RYZEN 5 5600G ( you would need to downgrade this apu/cpu ) for drives ( nvme, ssd, hhd ) - windows 7 nvme driver on asus doesnt play nice, if at all. - ssd's or hhd's should be fine. if your not willing to upgrade to windows 10/11, then you might need to consider another OS like linux mint. -
my suggestions would be ( in bios ) 1) boot priority uefi first or legacy first ( you want uefi first or only ) 2) windows boot manager uefi -selected ( this appears to effect msi and some asus boards now ) 3) secure boot and tpm 2 4) no other OS's on drive, windows prefers to be either first or only OS installed

to add to what GoodBytes said make sure your bios has " windows boot mode uefi " setting enabled otherwise it wont matter what partition table your hdd is set to it still wont install to uefi -
only 50 seconds? get back to me when you looking at 5 minutes or so regardless of OS type. someone suggested the CPU im gonna suggest the - ram speed is low (less than 3200mhz) - drive is on its way out and thats accounting for the 10-20% cpu speed loss that was an issue awhile ago
-
when you set-up new motherboard did you first set-up bios without hard drives attached? i always like to make sure the motherboard posts to screen BEFORE adding my drives, this approach for me has so far been successfull, however i dont have MSI motherboards

will have to keep an eye on this one hhmm

is fast boot turned on in " bios " and under "settings>power and sleep> additional power settings> choose what power buttons do " ? if fast boot is turned off then you get a proper system shutdown if fast boot is turned on you get a fake shutdown, like hybernate or sleep i prefer a slower boot, so i know all devices are effectively and properly shutdown / released

the problem for now does seem fixed, but ill need to wait awhile longer for me to be considered happy.... the bios appeared to have stock fan speed at 200rpm, i have never touched it till now in the 4 years i had the computer as for minimum fan speed what should it be? running wraith and spire fans - the problem one is a ryzen 3400G if that helps the one in the sig is not the one with the issue, hell i havent even looked at its fan speed because its been running great - i might reboot just to check LOL
-
ok so i have had hell with 1 computer for 4 years blue screens and boot loops - trying to keep it going for a bit longer until new parts arrive i thought i would up the base fan speed from 200 rpm to 400 or 600 rpm it appears it is now more stable than it has ever been unless running windows 7 and giving me and my son less hell. i have never messed with fan speed settings before and i dont Over Clock my computers. is this possible? or is it just some odd/weird behaviour happening between bios/os/cpu?

@jaslion ive contacted the seller but i probably wont get an answer over the weekend... i didnt realise the 4750G wasnt coming with a cooler, talk about some f' ups on my behalf... i'll see what i can arrange with the seller. and let you know what happens after everything is sorted at worst ill have to use the cooler from the 3400G, but i was kinda hoping to not do that regarding the 1050 ti, this came out of a rog strix system and was given to me because i still had a win 7 computer laying around, as said it was not playing nice with windows 10 even with updated drivers... the rog strix system it came out of, windows 10 would only recognise / use the APU that was in it... as for the RX-550 i tried to pair that with both an amd fx 8320 running windows 10 and a ryzen 5 3400G with windows 10 the only thing it would do is blue screen and boot loop after updates on both systems. HOWEVER it worked fine with linux.
