Just walked into work and there is an abused package on my desk...open it up what looks to be an i3 NUC with cables but obviously used as it has USB dongles in it. My hope is that when the purchasing agent gets in, he left this on my desk because the manufacturer said not to return it so its possibly being tossed my way...heres to hoping! Free tinker box!

RIGHT!
I think the reason it was "going bad" (we do not have IT On site, I am the resident shade tree IT guy lol) was because it (apparently they have forgotten to throw it away for 6 - 8 months) was tucked behind a machine running 24/7 in a hot hot warehouse environment...and its passively cooled with no air movement soooooooooooooo...pretty sure it was Summers fault lol
Will know later tonight when I get home, hoping it has some Use Case in it...I have an HTPC that's much better but in a Microtower so the form factor is nice but not nearly as powerful (dual core vs quad) (but its power consumption is much less and I don't game on that HTPC at all)

Worse case - I get either a good CPU/stick of ram/SSD/mini mobo
Something in that little case I hope is good hahaha - and Im already looking up in google how to get rid of its passive cooling to some air, Ill mod this little bad boy to never overheat

I got a i3-6100T, 4gb SODIMM DDR3, Win 7 Pro and a 500gb 7mm 7200 RPM mech drive
Problems:
Sensitive information, Id like to keep Windows 7 Pro activated just cause
The issue - its in a scripted boot loop. Every 5 minutes it sets a 1 minute warning it will restart - so far cant stop it
Starting with a system restore that looks like day 1 of this PC setup on 1.1.18 hoping that wipes info and programs and stops the script
That just finished didn't work, something is blocking access to required files. Maybe antivirus Ill disable and try again

I think Ill slap Win 10 on it and call it a day, get rid of all the problems lol

and its booting up to the win 10 logo, took 12 minutes not bad!
