I've been looking to supplement my small home theater setup (apartment) with a sound bar as my current bookshelf speakers are not quite cutting it. What have you guys and girls been using and how do you like or dislike your configuration over a conventional 2.1 setup? (5.1 or 7.1 would be nice but not feasible). A mostly play movies/content from my PC over hdmi to my tv or watch blu-rays via a xbox one. I use a set of M50'S for personal listening but I'M looking for a more group watching friendly configuration.

this is one of the few phones that makes me want to jump ship, great video

As someone who has been looking for a amp/dac and thinking of a shiit stack,/O2/audioengine d1, this would be a great addition as these three solutions all fall in that entry level audiophile price range
-
Depending on your device, you can set the audio playback to mono, thats how I get around the issue

i was tempted to pick up a pair of grado sr60i but after trying a friends, they leak a ton of sound

After talking to a few friends on the topic of headphone choice for the office and the required etiquette, I was wondering what LTT forum members think about or use as their headphone of choice in the office. I ask specifically about the office as I and many others work in environments where closed back are great for isolation and not disturbing others but they cut out almost to much background noise as you are unable to hear when people are trying to get your attention. Open back headphones have the reverse effect where everyone can hear your music and in a open concept office that is not the best option. My personal experience is that my ath m50's are great for home use but at the office they block out sound way to much and having coworkers resort to hand gestures or throwing office supplies gets old pretty fast so I end up resorting to my horrible apple ear buds. So what do you guys and girls use when you want decent audio quality but don't want to shut out the world or broadcast your music to those around you?

The track will only sound as good as the original recording and file format will allow. I was more curious to see what alternatives to iTunes people were using and what they liked/disliked about their program of choice. I didn't find foobar2000 hard to set up and i am liking the amount on customization it provides but its not exactly a program a would recommend to friends and family without a forewarning on the setup/config steps required.

Thanks for the advice, Tek syndicate's guide is very helpful, so far foobar2000 seems like a great option.

I've been looking for a replacement for Itunes for a while now and have yet to find any solid options so i thought I would see what all you guys & girls are using. I am interested in the audiophile geared options and my daily use cans are a pair of ath-m50's for most of the time. So what is everyone using, and what do you like/dislike about your program of choice? -Chap

After picking up a z77 saber tooth that was doa i ended up grabbing the P8Z77-V LK and I have a working rig again, thanks for the recommendation
-
I was thinking of the z77 option, I had issues in the past building for friends where you needs a 3k series cpu to allow the board to get to bios before flashing to allow a 2k series cpu.

Hey guys, I'm stuck at a crossroads and looking for some advice. After a DOA RMA and months of back and forth over issues my intel DP67BG is dead. I am stuck with a otherwise working rig (as noted below) and a i7 2700k without a board. Options: 1) Track down older P67 board 2) Sell CPU and make the jump to Haswell, small performance gain. What do you guys think? Rig: i7 2700K H80i w. Noctua fans EVGA GTX 680 16GB Kingston Hyper X DDR3 Intel 120gb ssd, 2 x 1tb wd black drives Coolermaster 1000w psu (Overkill I know)

Why don't we make one then
-
I've used these in two builds, they work great

There seems to be a couple small Linus tech tech tips steam groups, any word on a Official group for this forum? If not is anyone interested in starting one?
