  1. If you would please click the "please click here", it should say what the current sector sizes are. Reformat the new drive in disk managment, and when it asks for sector size, make sure that you select the same value that your current drive has.
  2. Something used with a lot of vram. I would say a 1080ti would fit into that budget and it has 11gb of vram, so enough for most 3d rendering needs. If he has to buy a new gpu, then no idea. Nvidia has better drivers for such things, but no gpu that cheap. AMD has the raw power, but some programs really need cuda support.
  3. NO, don't mix cables from different PSUs, especially from different manufacturers. They often have different pinouts and it is an easy way to blow something up. If you are really determined, at least search up the pinout schematics for each psu and then compare them carefully before making any stupid decisions. It would also be a good idea to test the pinouts yourself with a voltmeter or something, to be extra sure.
  4. Why? The amount of blades on the fan inherently doesn't make a performance difference, so seems just like a waste of time. The 2 models might have a different amount of fans for many reasons, such as noise, fan speed, etc etc As far as I remember the older wraith stealth also had a copper slug, but the newer one was all aluminium, so that might also be why the fan on the 2 models needs to be different, because the newer one is sligthly worse at dissipating heat, so they compensated with a noisier fan.
  5. Go to advanced bios instead of EZ mode bios, and then change the ram speed to 2133mhz instead of XMP. DOCP is not directly XMP. XPM might still be enabled with DOCP disabled, as they are not exactly the same thing. So Asus might be smart enough to still enable the XMP profile, even if the user doesn't want to overclock the cpu etc. So to get the real ram speed you need to go to the advanced bios. You might also be running into the fact that by default DOCP is "auto", then there is "enabled", and finally "disabled". So if you left the BIOS as is at first, then obviously XMP was already enabled, but cpu was left at stock clocks.
  6. I wouldn't worry about it. First off Furmark is a power virus, nothing more, so not really indicative of anything except that your gpu won't crash at the most extreme load. Use Unigine or 3D mark to test overclocks and to see if the fps/score changes based on that.

  8. It is currently the second variant. As you said, it would be much better if it was the first variant, but it is not. A simple proof that it is the second variant is what happens when a scene changes in a single frame. The generated frame is a artifact filled mess that is the combination of previous scene and the new one. If it was the variant one, the predicted frame would just be the continuation of the previous scene, and then the scene would change after the predicted frame without any artifacts. Prediction doesn't always have to be about the future you know. Currently Nvidia "predicts" what the frame between 2 actual frames would look like. I recommend watching the nvidia keynote about the subject, they also have a pretty well made scheme about the pipeline.
  9. QVO is kinda trashtier, but it really doesn't matter. The boot times and windows experience will still be almost identical to nvme, just don't copy a lot of big files on that QLC ssd if you don't want 40mb/s write speeds

  11. Yeah, I know about the timezone difference, but that doesn't make spreading misinformation any more acceptable. I just wrote the reply now, and hopefully they see the reply because I quoted them, and then act accordingly. But how such an underlying mistake about the technology got past all the millions of people that LMG employs is past me. Many different articles and videos about the subject have gotten it correct, so they had mountains of evidence that their conclusion is completely false. I have to say it again. They missed the fact that the neural net takes previous and future frame as an input to render a frame between them, it doesn't only take a previos frame to extrapolate a new "future" frame.   12. Leave it to LinusMediaGroup to release a 17:60 minute video without understanding even how the underlying technology works. Please watch the GTC keynote, where Nvidia founder Jensen Huang clearly explains it to you once again. Currently this video is just further spreading misinformation, causing people confusion. Your explanation from 2:09 onwards is completely WRONG. Like complete misinformation. DLSS 3.0 does not make an educated guess what the "next frame" should look like based on the previous frame and motion vectors. IT makes an educated guess what the intermediate frame should be based on the previous frame, motion vectors AND THE CURRENT FRAME. Here is an transcript fron J. Huang himself: IT GENERATES THE INTERMEDIATE FRAMES. Not a future frame. IF the GPU has generated 2 real frames, it generates a fake frame between the 2 real frames. This is where the inherit question about latency comes in. The next frame has to be rendered before it can show the generated frame between 2 frames, so it holds back the "current" frame, until the DLSS 3.0 frame is rendered. If you are still have trouble understanding the pipeline, here is the dumbed down version for you: Here is what you claimed in your video: You might be saying that I am nitpicking, but the conceptional difference between the way it works, and the way it actually works is MASSIVE, and has way different implications about input latency as well as how close the generated frame could be to "perfect frame" as well. @BellLMG, @GabenJr Please pull the video and correct it, or at the very least pin a top comment explaining how the technology actually works. Because what you have currently done is just causing more confusion about the technology, not clarity.   13. Obviously do a physical inspection to the card, but he only got 4 months of mining out of the card, so practically should be like brand new. Also mining is much better for GPU than variable gaming workloads, because the gpu temp doesn't jump up and down, but stays at a stable rate, the fans don't spin up and down, but stay on the exact same speed etc etc. I wouldn't worry.
  14. I'll just go ahead and say yeah, no noticable difference. Obviously there will be difference, no matter how small, one ram is factually slower, but realistically looking at it, you absolutely wouldn't feel/see the difference at all.
  15. Sounds like you don't live in the US, in which case look into the warranty in your country. For example in the EU it doesn't matter who bought the card, if you have the purchase proof / receipt, you can get warranty for it. So in that case definitely the 3080. But if warranty is more stupid like in the US, the the brand ew rx6800XT sounds good.
  16. No it is not, the CL18 is slower, but on most processors you won't feel a difference in gaming, maybe on ryzen there will be like 1-2% fps difference, so basically non detectable.
  17. Why do you feel that road bike is better exercise? I feel like I am just sitting on a chair and moving my legs, not doing much, and not really getting tired. While rollerblading looks like a full body workout
  18. Yeah, I never liked VLC, too complicated and kinda obfuscated. Potplayer is like it's cooler, slicker cousin. Technically they both can do the same things, but on Potplayer it is easier, and it looks more modern while doing it.
  19. yeah, but he already picked out a really cheap but powerful 8core cpu, so he is set on the cpu side aswell, the 12 core 5900x costs about double. And most programs can do OpenGL along with cuda, so unless it is a program that can only use Nvidia Cuda, he is fine.
  20. potplayer can probably do that, by default it always shows 1:1 size, but I havent tried viewing webcam with it yet, mostly have used it for screen recording and video watching.
  21. The 6600XT is undoubtedly the best option for you if you want a gaming card and want to buy a new card. If going used you might be able to get a 6700XT for the same money, but 6600XT is already really good. Memory bus width makes no difference in your use case, the 4080 12GB was memed upon because it was a 1000$ card, but the bus width makes perfect sense for a 250$ card.
  22. You clearly haven't seen cursed Push/Push radiator setups. But you are right, by design all radiators are meant with a singular airflow direction, so dust can only collect on the intake side, no matter if it is push/pull, just push, or just pull.
  23. even if you just set a static fanspeed in MSI afterburner, no curve, at 60%, they sound like jet engine? Sounds like the card is overheating for some reason.

  25. Yeah. I definitely wouldn't be able to use them as a everyday moving around tool, but there is a new like a 30km long completely smooth bike road that I could use, it would be more of an exercise, instead of moving around, as in the city I have the same problem, smooth bike roads are connected by basically gravel quality roads in some spots. But why is it that different from ice skating? The basic movements at least look similar?
