  1. try get the laptop with 8gb+ ram, it must have up-gradable ram, storage also if possible, and try searching any problem(s) with drivers which might occur down the road specially with amd mobile apu tend to have problems with there gfx drivers on laptops(saying with experiencing 2nd time in the new laptop asus vivobook 14), buy 2 in 1 only if you gonna use it as tablet/use as graphic tablet(i.e. gonna use t for graphic designing course or something) cause as @jaslion said its just a gimmick and its hinges are costly to change too, after looking the flip won't have dedicated gpu but other one have it and might perform good with intel 10th gen cpu and after upgrading ram (if possible, idk)... so I think second choice is better
  2. I just got my new laptop Asus Vivobook 14 (X412DA) but after the update all the drivers even bios updates, after installing AMD Radeon 20.4.2 the laptop there's no audio coming out of either internal speakers or 3.5mm audio jack. I have posted a video showing the issue here: https://youtu.be/btIUO6XSMqI Previously I have also made a subreddit on r/AMDHelp and many other forums asking for advice or suggestions, but no one responded, I figured as it was an issue with OEM product they don't want to look into it. I looked around on internet but got nowhere
  3. HELP!!!!

my friend's laptop is having a issue during startup

all he did was put it to sleep last night, and these applications were open: PowerPoint 2007, chrome and windows explorer.

now it get stuck at login or after login (during normal startups)

so I rebooted it into safe-mode to uninstall some applications and disable some startup applications...

It booted... but it still getting laggy and even task manager is not loading IMG-20200306-WA0013.thumb.jpg.fe1ac4025e4a3625ecde7ae03fe05bfd.jpg

after is starts lagging the icons and task manager goes haywire they don't load completely and respond very very slow like opening start took about more than 3 minutes

for now I am resetting his pc

    while keeping his files

  4. How can I... more like can I make a low budget (like really low) NAS out of my brother's old laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 110). Its specification are similar to mine, anyway its:

    AMD a8 APU 7410

8 gig ram (idk the version was it DDR3 or DDR4)
    1 TB hard disk

    2 GB Radeon R5 graphics

I would recommend FreeNAS but I don't believe FreeNAS works with USB storage and you'd want drives of identical capacity.

yeah I would add more SSD or HDD in place of DVD-ROM using Caddy

I have been informed some people have succeeded with using ZFS over USB. I don't know if FreeNAS will let you do it though. You may have to do it manually with something like Ubuntu+SAMBA+ZFS.

I have a tutorial on how to do this. It doesn't cover USB storage but I'll assume that won't change the setup process however it's CLI only if you're still interested I can link it.

yeah I will start working on it when I get home and bring it with me

  5. Which m.2 slot is this I mean which key it is??

or is it even a m.2 slot??

I am thinking of replacing the wireless adapter with an SSD (as it usually doesn't work I have to use USB tethering to access internet).

PS, I do know that the the SSD adapter might not be able to fit in there. I am thinking of putting this motherboard of this laptop into a custom case in later future

hmm so I won't be able to use m.2 SSD here, the key is totally different

I think I can only go for caddy and replace the DVD drive..

I was thinking of using m.2 ssd for boot drive for this laptop until I buy a new one and put it into that laptop for extra storage

  6. I mean completely uninstalling or DDU cause the drivers some times leave some files behind, I have to do it when radeon graphic update started causing stutter on my laptop
  7. have you tried clean installing the graphic driver, or changing any other GPU driver settings.. like G sync?
  8. try rolling back to previous graphic driver version if it happened after driver update.
  9. try installing Radeon 17.4.4, this is the last version working for AMD a8 APUs more recent drivers are causing issues with input (like massive mouse stutter or screen blackouts..
