  1. Seriously considering the top mount. But now I have to research all the models, what plays well woth the MB rgb wise, which have the best low noise performance, if I want temp reading on the pump... Did not plan to make this research I don't plan on OC neither the CPU nor GPU anytime soon, so I don't think it would affect me as much Found an interesting light setup I could do with the top 240mm mount, but this one also uses air cooler:
  2. Nice fan config suggestion! I'll definitely pay attention to that now. Still unsure on either if NH-D15 or NH-U12A. I think I'd prefer the NH-U12A. But now you've put me thinking on a possible top mounted AIO... There are very few 240mm in stock: Fractal Design Lumen S24 V2 RGB [109,90 €] Sharkoon S80 RGB [109,90 €] Corsair iCUE H100x Elite RGB [141,90 €] Corsair iCUE H100i RGB [177,90 €] Going 150€+ seems too much for little return.
  3. Never built with AIO, and mounting it in front, I loose GPU clearance, could maybe mount a 240 AIO it on top, but would it really be that much quieter? Also, most AIOs are kinda out of stock. Hmmmm... The Case is pretty much set. I'd like to have the TG version, even if I'm going for a stealthier build. Before deciding on the North, my eyes were onto the Torrent Compact. But my partner did not approve. It is what it is. Sweet, thanks dor your input!
  4. Budget (including currency): ~3.000€ (EUR) Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Every new title that'll come in the next years. Want to play Hogwarts Legacy and The Last of Us for now. Background: First build was a AMD FX 6300 with a Radeon HD 7770, now being a media server. Currently using, and wanting to upgrade from a MSI GE62 6QD laptop, with a i7-6700HQ and 960m. So this will be a build from scratch. Thought of going for 'ultimate' AM4 build, as it seemed a more budget friendly choice, but decided to go bleeding edge. Want a stealthy build, but chose RGB RAM for just a little spark. Here are my plans for the build (PCPartPicker) : CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D [519,90 €] - Since this is a PC for games, it seems like the best option right now. otherwise would've probably gone with 7900. Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black [119,90 €] - Undecided between the NH-D15 and the NH-U12A, but in the store I'm buying the parts, there's only the NH-D15 available. Sad if it covers the RAM tho. Motherboard: ATX Asus ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi [349,90 €] - Seems like the cheaper of the MBs with more features. 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 and 2x PCIe 5.0 M.2; Debug LED; ALC4080 audio; etc. And it's the same price as the cheapest x670. RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB (AMD Expo) 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-5600MHz CL28 [169,90 €] - According to LTT, DDR5-5600MHz CL28 is pretty much on par with 6000MHz and 6400MHz. And the 5600MHz is in stock. ^^ GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX Pulse Gaming OC 24GB GDDR6 [1239,90 €] - Wanted a AMD GPU for possible future linux migration. From the available 7900XTXs, this one is the cheapest and smallest. But should I consider a red devil or nitro+? (also worryed for case clearance and unmatching LEDs, and don't plan to OC in the first 5 years of the PC) Storage: SSD Western Digital Black SN850X 2TB 3D NAND NVMe [214,90 €] - Seemed like a good performer. The 990 Pro seems like extra dough for not that much gain. Also "scared" due to their latest issues. Case: Fractal Design North Charcoal Black TG [149,90 €] - Subjective choice. PSU: Seasonic PRIME TX 850W 80+ Titanium Full Modular [289,90 €] - Chose Seasonic for just works solution with good warranty. The Titanium version was only 30€ extra compared to the Platinum version. Fan: NF-A12 [34,90 €]- Extra fan for the back of the case. Total cost: 3089,10 € Am I missing anything or should I change anything? Does the PSU have the 3 8-Pin connectors for the GPU, and is 850W enough? NH-U12A vs NH-D15? Looking for opinions before buying. Inspiration for the build:
  5. Greetings, I currently have a 18TB HDD in a external enclosure connected to a raspberry pi 4 via USB cable. Had some problems making the hdd use ext4 and not get broken if the PI is rebooted, so I settled with NTFS and SMB to connect to it via a windows laptop. (Even thought NTFS is 3x slower than EXT4 at copying files) I use it to store mostly media and use it as a plex server, and wanting to make it a cloud service with nextcloud, but I'm getting a second 18TB HDD for redundancy so I'm waiting for that to happen. So my question is, since I'm getting a second drive for redundancy, I would need a second enclosure for it. I've been looking at the QNAP TR-002 (~150€) solution, which can make it a RAID 1 configuration without much hassle, and I assume I'd reconnect it to the PI and use it as I've been doing it, but should I look into another solution? Like a Synology DS220j (~190€) or DS220+ (~360€) or a QNAP equivelent? The TR-002 is the most affordable, but I've never had a proper NAS solution so I'd like to hear some input on the matter. Thanks!
  6. For file access/nextcloud sync, I'd say 2 computers and 1 phone. As to access to plex, 2 mutual streams would be nice.

  8. Well I've already placed my order and got the WD Blue. I believe I did the right thing, price/GB wise. Thanks for the help!
  9. Greetings, I was wondering where the Seasonic Core GC 500W 80PLUS PSU stands in the tier list.
  10. Hi, I've been looking for a SSD to replace the HDD on a laptop and I've been pretty much been waiting on a price drop on either MX500 or 860 EVO. But now there's a sale on a 2.5" WD Blue 500GB 3D NAND SSD. This drive is comparable to the other two, right? Or is it DRAMless? SSD Ref.: WDS500G2B0A
  11. Quieter it is. Thanks fot the help!
  12. That one looks pretty good. What's best, Pure Rock or Hyper 212 Black Edition?
  13. RAM: Crucial 8GB (2x4GB 1600MHz) Case: Aerocool V3X Advance Evil Black Edition
  14. These sound like wise words, tho in the same price point is a 550W 80+ bronze vs a 400W 80+ gold. Indecision in the air...
