Wierd, try to change the fodler permissions to the same as the default owncloud data folder.. using chmod .. then try to chown it again EDIT: what format is the partition on? if the fodler you want to chown is on a ntfs partition it aint gonna work btw... cuz ntfs dont support Linux ownership and permissions. more detail here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=283131&p=1653968#post1653968
  2. As long as the strip diameter on the wires is the same, and the no wire has a smaller diameter there is nothing to worry about.
  3. you can check it with "ls -al" it should give you the fodler permissions then.. and change the owner to wwwrun (i guess tahts what owncloud uses but check the pre made folder from owncloud for exact details on owner and permissions) chown wwwrun /data

  5. get the Be Quiet ones. They do perform very similar to the noctua fans (except for NF-F12s cuz they are awesome) and are cheaper.

  10. You could copy the files simply or take a look at changing the root folder of ownclouds stored files
