  1. I'm rocking a Naos 7000, Everglide Titan DKT, Blackwidow Ultimate, and Siberia v3. So I'm good. But i definitely know some friends who could use an upgrade.
  2. Well I currently run a GTX 980. So AMD isn't currently offering anything for me just yet. But I have a couple friends trying to build PCs and I would love to be able to help them out.
  3. I think short-throw projectors are really interesting. This one looks cool, and the form factor seems amazing. But I have no experience with projectors past school use. Is something like this really notably better in terms of color and brightness? I dunno. I'd love to see a couple full reviews on projectors (considering how many monitor reviews I've seen, this isn't really much of a stretch). Start with this one! (And thanks for the giveaway)
  4. Currently using a "well-loved" Blackwidow Ultimate. Looking to upgrade because green really isn't my color, the switches are a bit loud, and I need something a bit more space efficient on my desk.

  6. Hi. I am looking for some help on a topic. I’m writing a research paper on the different effects of video games (whether they be physical, psychological, social, or cultural) for my Composition class. I’m looking to get some feedback, about real gamers’ (new and old), and possibly even some developers’ view on gaming. So. If you don’t mind, just respond however you’d like to the following questions. What is the biggest impact or change gaming has made in your life? What got you into gaming, and what kept you interested? What specific genres and games do you enjoy the most? What sets video games apart from other arguably similar activities (table-top games and sports)? What do you look forward to most in your gaming experiences? How often do you game with friends? (Do you view gaming with friends online as a real social interaction?) How do you feel about violence in video games, and the general controversy that surrounds them? Do you ever prioritize gaming over more important activities? Would you ever describe yourself (or some of those around you) as addicted? What do you love about gaming communities? What do you hate about some of them? Should we encourage children to play video games? Do video games have a legitimate spot in the future for other purposes than entertainment? (Education or training for example.) Those are just a bunch of ideas. Don’t feel compelled to answer all of them. Just answer any of them you find personally important, and give any other additional information that you might find relevant. Thanks a lot.
  7. Can't say I personally have much use for a NUC, but my Mom definitely needs a new computer, And her monitor has a vesa mount...
  8. Great video. I'd like to see this same test but with small cases instead, where ambient temperatures can often be a little bit more important. I'd assume that we'd see even warmer ambient temps from the open designs if the smaller case isn't well ventilated (especially in tiny little cases like the Lian Li PC-TU100), and I'm fairly certain I've heard Linus recommend the stock blower cooler for small form factor builds for this reason. But what about well ventilated mITX cases (say the Corsair 250D). Wouldn't the vent directly in front of the GPU fans provide plenty of cool intake as well as an easy and fairly isolated exhaust, keeping all the extra heat from raising ambient temps? Just a thought.
  9. Well, a 5820k is definitely overkill for a first build, but that's exactly what I'd be doing with it. Because buying an X99 motherboard and DDR4 i still cheaper than buying a z97 chip, motherboard, and DDR3. Hopefully it'd be just a bit faster than my i3-powered laptop. And maybe some of the games in my steam library would actually be playable.
  10. Even though it's the only non-pc thing on the list, the pulse headphones look really cool.
  11. I think it looks generally pretty good. Definitely look at trying to find a PSU from a more reliable company (Corsair, Seasonic, Cooler Master, and so on). I definitely also recommend trying to fit an SSD into your budget. Maybe allocate money for it by looking at different hard drives (seagate should be cheaper), or even looking at switching over to an AMD for the cpu (the fx line offers pretty fantastic value nowadays). Also, one last note. I don't know what pricing is like in Romania, but I've generally seen that the Palit GPUs are pretty overpriced, and you can generally find some significantly cheaper from other manufacturers, or at the very least consider picking up the 2GB GTX 760, because you wont need 4GB of VRAM to play at that resolution.
  12. I'm definitely loving every aspect of the 900 series. Efficiency, overclocking, performance, and price point; it's all great. And I'm glad Zotac has started making some decent looking cards (even if the extreme is rather flashy).
  13. If you're serious about gaming, then you really have to go with mechanical switches. The reds and blacks will probably be the quietest. And if you go ahead and use O-Rings, they're going to be quieter still. Maybe not completely silent, but probably no louder than whatever mouse you're using. As to which specific keyboard, I'm definitely a fan of Corsair's Vengeance line.
  14. I really love LinusTechTips and it's community. I originally found you guys while looking through few beginner's "how to build a pc" guides, and was very impressed (I ultimately used one to help a buddy put together a gaming rig). I especially love the nerdier tech coverage you guys have, including motherboards, graphics cards, benchmarks, techquickie and so on. The knowledge I've learned from your videos has largely influenced how I view myself as a hardware and tech enthusiast. And while it may not be my interest, I still appreciate the high quality effort that's put into the more consumer friendly reviews. Congrats to everyone on a million subscribers, and a million more to come.
  15. I really love water-resistant products, because I hate having to buy a case just to have some sort of enviromental protection. As to the skins, I think they seem to be decent quality, and to my eye, look very nice on most phones.
