  1. Wow finally! I was hoping to see a more robust sorting system for the inventory and alchemy / crafting! I was also hoping for a stashing place for my rare items that still look cool, but don't fare up so well stat wise as my newer equipment. Sounds like it's going to be a good patch
  2. Hey guys. So I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my WD Black 1 TB Drive using a Windows 7 ISO on my Kingston Data Traveller 3.0 32 GB drive. There are no other storage drives attached to my PC, just the drive I want to install Windows on, and my USB with The Windows ISO on it. Whenever I get to the installation process in which you must select which drive to install Windows on, I get this error when I select the drive and try to proceed: "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information." Does anybody know how to solve this issue? It won't let me go through with the installation no matter how I format the drive in the installer. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks
  3. Hey guys, absolutely any input would be helpful. I was building a PC for a friend. She opted for a large mechanical drive, so I got a 1 TB WD Black. I tried installing Windows on the drive in her computer, but for whatever reason it wasn't allowing me to install it. So I tried to put the drive in my PC and hook up my CD Drive to install windows through my computer. All of my drives were hooked up ( my 120 GB Samsung SSD, and my 2 TB WD Green ) Now, I managed to get the installation going her WD Green just fine. But after about 5 minutes I realized that I was installing home premium instead of professional which is the key that I had. After many times throughout the day when I had to turn the computer off VIA the power switch to install some different RAM or to check if something was powering up, this became a habit. So this is where I screwed up. through force of habit, I just held the power switch down during the windows installation and the computer shut off. My heart sunk when I did it because I realized just how bad I had screwed up. However this is also kind of weird. Now whenever I try to go into my personal PC, my boot priorities seem to skip my SSD and go straight to the next one. My PC isn't recognizing my SSD anymore and is unable to boot from it. Whenever I set my boot order so that there is nothing else to boot from but my SSD, I get this error on a black screen: "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device." So basically after I cancelled the windows installation on the other drive that was hooked up to my system, my system will no longer boot. So I thought perhaps I had just messed up my MBR. So I loaded up into my windows 8 disk to get into the command prompt to fix it. I followed all the steps available in this guide : http://www.thewindowsclub.com/repair-master-boot-record-mbr-windows However, when it gets to the point where it is scanning windows installations after using the *Bootrec /RebuildBcd* command, it says that it has found 1 windows installation (my SSD). It then asks me if I want to make it a primary partition or something like that, I say Y for yes. Then it says that the specified drive could not be found. So I'm out of ideas. I'm out of ideas. I've tried using the windows automatic repair, ran memory diagnostics, etc etc. Don't know what to do other than format the drive and reinstall windows, but at this point I'm not sure ven that will work because the PC isn't recognizing the drive. Since this happened I've plugged the SSD into my roomates computer which I'm making this post on, and I'm letting the drive power cycle a little bit in the hopes that might help. Another weird thing is that the drive is recognized on his PC. I can copy and transfer files to and from it just fine. It just wont boot into the OS on his PC nor mine. Does anybody have any other ideas that could possibly make this work? I really don't want to have to wipe my drive Thanks a billion!
  4. Personally I believe that there is other life forms out there. Now theres a difference between "life forms" and what everyone sees as Aliens. They could be freaking bacteria with no intelligence whatsoever, or they could be intelligent humanoid creatures, or not humanoid whatsoever and could look like slugs that are actually smarter than us. Or anything in between. It's also entirely possible that there is nothing at all. I just believe that there is. The thing about these radio frequencies, is that radio waves actually travel really, really slow... Whatever sent them (if something sent them) in order to contact other life in the cosmos, then they're probably millions of years past the point from when they first sent the signals, unless they are alarmingly close to us. They could have pulled a humanity and destroyed their own planet and all other life on it within a few thousand years pretty easily as well. We probably will never know, and most definitely not in any of our lifetimes. It's pretty cool nonetheless
  5. I would personally have to say Intel. They just over engineer everything and put far more R&D into everything they make that it's just ... Reliable. It just works. Reliable is the first word that comes to mind when I think Intel. For example in one of the recent WAN shows Linus mentioned "That's such an Intel thing to do" when it was shown in the SSD torture test with all of those SSD's constantly writing to themselves that Intel purposely made their own SSD fail at a certain limit. However it didn't actually "Fail". Intel had a specification for the product, and knew that it could at least go that far. And that it would definitely go a bit further. But once they got to a point where they thought the drive had a good chance of failing after that number of writes, they just basically told the drive to stop working and refuse to do anything anymore. It wasn't completely done for though as they still made it possible to recover the data from the drive! Someone (more likely a large group of people) at Intel actually had to put thought into that, and design the product to do that. They knew perfectly well that no consumer would EVER use the drive to that extent EVER, and yet they still put that feature in, because it's freaking Intel. That is why they are my most trusted brand.
  6. I've been offered a gift from one of my family members. They've offered to buy me a nice bike. I live in the city currently but my roots belong in my hometown in the mountains. So I'm looking for a bike that I will use on pavement somewhat but mostly on logging roads, trails, mud, the mountains, offroad ya'know? I've got a rough price range of 500 - 700 dollars, but the problem is that I haven't got much of a clue about bikes! I think I want a hardtail bike, only front suspension. I just don't even know what brands are good, what parts are better, or even where to buy the dang thing Anybody know more about this than me that could share some insight? Thanks
  7. Thanks guys! I deleted the temp files that were taking up so much space and got rid of some other things that I didn't see before that WinDirStat showed me. I now have over 35 gigs of free space on my SSD! Thanks again
  8. I was extremely hesitant to delete them, because I was told that one of the fastest ways to screw up your installation of windows is to start messing around in the temp folders. Especially with the files that are modified daily...
  9. My Samsung 840 Series 120 GB SSD is having some major storage issues. When I first built my PC I installed 1 or two games on it as well as my OS. (8.1) and still had about 30 gigs to spare I have since uninstalled all games from the drive. I have no movies, or big software installed on it. For the past few months I've gone into my file explorer and seen that the drive space is in the "red" state and is displaying a very low disk space left (somewhere in the 5 GB Range) I used to fix this by going through and cleaning up things like my downloads folder, disk cleanup, etc. However the drive is now almost constantly in the red state despite having little to nothing installed on it but my OS. If I first turn on my PC the free space on the drive is enough to keep it out of the red state, but after a half hour or so of just browsing around the internet the disk goes back into the red state and somehow suddenly eats more space! So how can I fix this? I've noticed that my TEMP folder is excessively large. I've screen capped examples: Drive Setup : http://i.imgur.com/h7SD5yF.png Users File Size: http://i.imgur.com/EJJ2T09.png Local, LocalLow, Roaming: http://i.imgur.com/ACO5OCh.png Temp File: http://i.imgur.com/hPKVhG6.png Temp File(s): http://i.imgur.com/lEiajsz.png I would greatly appreciate any help or ideas you have on how to clear up this phantom space

  13. NCIX has a really good display on right now for 150 bucks off with free shipping. BenQ XL2720Z 27in LED 144HZ 1ms GTG FPS Gaming Monitorhttp://www.ncix.com/detail/benq-xl2720z-27in-led-144hz-b7-92842-1029.htm I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but it is 27 inches which is a reasonable size. The only downfall is that it's only 1080P. That's about all I can recommend atm with the information you've given.
