  1. Hi! As the title says I am in search of a laptop mostly for when I'm not at home (hotel rooms, train rides etc.) and I propably won't use it much for heavy load. My budget would be around 300 EUR/USD for a used Laptop. Since I won't use it much for heavy load I don't need super high specs but would like to have a overall good build quality and keyboard, a nice display, a usable touchpad and long battery life. Display size should be 15 inch. I plan to install Manjaro Linux on it, so driver compatibility would be a plus.
  2. You won't get locked out as far as I know. You just get the "Activate now" message on the lower right corner all the time and some windows functionalities won't work.
  3. I'm paying about 28cents/kWh and a/c's aren't that popular over here in germany. You're still right tho, electricity will cost me some extra money. If this thing constantly pulls 250W, I would pay 47€ per month. It looks like I have to buy some newer Hardware in the long run or have to shut it down over night/while noone ist at home to save some money. At least I got something cheap in the meantime, I guess.

    Pick one

NZXT > Gigabyte > Corsair. I chose just because of looks.
  5. Have you checked your temps? Maybe your coolers are broken.
  6. Alright, thank you! I can get a Xeon X5460 which would have 4,3k+ Score for 19 bucks. So this should be fine? What about old memory? Will this get in my way?
  7. I tried to use my RasPi 3B+ as a NAS/Streaming server but stopped doing it on the same day because of the slow writing speed over network to USB (2mbps max). So I decided to buy some very old computer/server hardware and found a Dell SC1430 for 10 bucks. It got an Intel Xeon 5120 @ 1.86GHz and some 4GB ram. I'll also add a SSD for the boot partition and some WD Reds for storage. It should be capable of running a simple NAS and streaming FullHD/4k movies, right? I want to install FreNAS. There won't be more than 2 clients connected at the same time.
  8. I've already answered your question.
  9. You don't have any concept. That's why you created this thread, didn't you?
  10. I playing all my games in Borderless-Windowed mode (as long as they support it) because of alt-ttabbing out mid game but as other people said, the performance is slightly affected and you sometimes get some input-lag.
  11. You already got several ideas: - host gameservers for popular games and sell items/dontaion ranks (pay 2 win) - sell gameserver/webhosting to other people - rent your servers - sell your servers - host porn With 30 servers you could start your own little data centre and sell webhosting/storage to local companies. Just remember that you need to start a business in most countries before doing most of the stuff listed here.
