  1. Budget (including currency): 2000E Country: Greece Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Pubg, Destiny 2, World of Warcraft, Counter Strike, Battlefield and some high graphic games like Tomb Raider etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current specs are Cooler Corsair H150 I pro water cooler Z370 Asus Maximus X Hero I7 8700K intel 32gb of DDR4 Corsair 3600 MHZ CL 19 samsung Ram RTX 2080 Ti Asus strix current Monitor atm Alienware 3440x1440 120hz What i plan to upgrade to is to a 4k monitor at least 100 hz. Is the cpu holding me back or i can upgrade to a Monitor and maybe a 4080 to run smooth 4k resolution at high/ultra settings and hold the rest of the system as it is? The problem is the new gen cpu is going to require DDR5 memory which i dont want to upgrade to yet. Also my water cooler wont be compatible with new Intel socket since it has a different mounting bracket. I heard CPU is only bottlenecking at lower resolutions where it takes more load where in 4k resolutions all the heavy work is falling on the GPU.
  2. actually i found a detailed article on reddit on google about this. It looks like the Corsair ones have a better headroom for overclocking potential, that's pretty much it i guess.
  3. so what's the point of buying higher mhz ram if you have intel desktop? you can just go for the cheapest and still get more or less same results?
  4. i was almost certain i was missing something and i didn't know what, fixed it, its Intel.
  5. Intel i7 8700k RTX 2080 Ti Asus maximus X Hero z370 Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB - 3600mhz Cas 18 timings 19-19-39 out of the box G.Skill Trident Z - 3200 mhz Cas 14 timings 14-14-34 out of the box Both are confirmed Samsung b-dies so what's gonna perform better? is it the same thing? Gaming wise Multi tasking wise all in one performing.
  6. My vote would be the Aorus monitor, 10 bit colors, released in 2019 no need to say more.
  7. Price for performance was never worth getting the most high End card in the market, that's how its been since forever. If you can settle with less performance its better value for money getting 2080, but if you want the best in the market then you have to pay those extra bucks for the luxury you want. I Have an Asus Strix 2080 Ti Oc and i sort of regreted that decision if you ask me, i could live with a 2080 and 500$ less in price, but that's just me. Not everybody has the same wallet, do what you think your wallets allows you to do.
  8. I have a system with i7 8700k 2x 8gb ram 3200 Mhz Cl 14 <-- this maters RTX 2080 Ti with a 3440x1440p 120 hz monitor. All i can say is i am hardly able to reach 120 fps in most modern games with everything turned ultra. Pubg for example i am usually playing on the range of 100~120 but on games like Battlefield V Shadow of the tomb Raider i get drops to 80 aswell sometimes. 3440x1440p is no joke resolution even for the most high end card in the market. Just think about it, a 3440x1440p monitor has 1/3 more pixels than a 2560x1440p, its 1/3 heavier than a regular 16:9 monitor. Check out the Video for the FPS only, no comments on gameplay
  9. I decided not to bother and live with it i guess, dont wanna get into worse piece and don't wanna remain without a gpu for 1 month till this gets solved out, i already waited 3 months for it to arrive, now that i have it wanna enjoy it to the max.
  10. So, what if i RMA it to get a GPU which has none at all? Is it so common that i might get into another one? Or maybe they don't even accept RMA for coil whine? I know this is not harmful for the GPU but come on, 1500 euros for a GPU with coil whine? who would accept this?
  11. Anyone with a similar card epxeriencing this kind of problem? My build is very silent based and the only thing i hear from the case itself is this buzzing noise when its working idle. Don't get me wrong it's not very loud, but its there. Is it common for the card to sound like this? Sorry for the mic quality from phone.
  12. shorter? you mean by size? nothing else inside of the product itself?
  13. Hello, is there any update on the topic about the Asus Rog Thor Platinum PSU 850/1200 watts? Also what's the actual difference on the Corsair RMx 850 ( 2017 ) and the new ( 2018 ) edition? I got myself the Corsair 2018 RMx 850 gold version
  14. Considering i have to pay 35% less for 20% less performance, yes i'd be fine if you ask me but i don't know what's got wrong with me in the end and i wanted the best Gpu on the market for one time and i went yolo. If money is not a problem then there is no more discussion here i guess, just buy the RTX 2080 Ti
