    I am setting up a linux pc with two gpus. One is a GTX 970 and the other is a RTX 2060. One of these will be for a VMs and the other for the host. I just cant decide on which. I will be mainly in the host, and try to game mostly in the host. thanks for any recommendations. (And sorry if this is in the wrong category)

    Try to install the ram in this slot. And make sure all the power connectors are plugged.

    Most likely it is fine. Get a new one or borrow and test.

    thermal grizzly kryonaut is the best syntetic non conductive paste i belive.

    For the best result. Sand, wash, dry, primer, the paint you want, and if you want to be fancy a clearcoat. or the easiest way, you can just spray over with new paint.

    Fair. If it's done properly the cables that leads to the socket is in a tube. And you can easily pull new cables trogh with a cable puller. And you probobly have not to change the socket.

    First why? Cat 5e is already gigabit. And how, you pull a new cable trough the tubes were the old cable was.
