  1. Remember this is a 4k build and not a 1080p. I'm pretty sure the 3600 is overkill for this kind of thing, since 4k is mostly GPU limited and not CPU.
  2. Hello everyone. So recently I began building a new itx sff PC to run 4k 60hz. I currently currently used up most of my budget on an rtx 2070 mini by gigabyte. I have an aorus b450i in hand, and am in need of help to choose the right CPU. I was think about getting the ryzen 5 2400g or the 2600. I won't be running any CPU intensive applications or anything like AC origins, just light gaming with a little bit of rainbow six. What do you guys think?
  3. So I've recently decided on building a mini-itx PC. Here are the components: Cpu: i7 8700 Mobo: Asus rog strix b360 i Gpu: GTX 1080 gigabyte mini Ram: 16gb of ddr4 corsair vengeance LX Case:Bitfenix prodigy m Psu:Corsair sf450? Here's the thing. I am uncertain if the 450 watts would be plenty for this build. Since it will be a locked CPU and GPU, no overclocking will be done. Thoughts?
  4. Never touched the CPU. Just don't have a gpu. Sorry for the late response, been pretty busy lately. It's an msi g45 z97 motherboard with an i7 4790k
  5. Idk what you mean, but it's always been connected to the motherboard
  6. Welp. I've tried everything before doing the jump test. So I'm guessing it's already been deas I don't exactuly understand your instructions. How would the pjn connect to the front panel?
  7. You could try a bios reset. Yet again, it could be your motherboard or card. Just try the bios reset first and see what happens.
  8. Hello. I've recently sold my GTX 1080 Ti, as I am looking to upgrade. I currently have no graphics card at the moment. After I sold the card, I turned on my pc (without card) just to test it out, which it did for a few seconds and turned off for no reason. After that incident I could not turn it back on, and I have tried everything to test if it was the power supply or cables. And yes, the psu cables are the ones that came with my psu. But however, I tried using the 24 pin with the black and green wire method, with the 8 pin for the CPU turning the fans on, and then connecting 24 pin with the pin inside, immediately shuts the whole thing off. Is it possibly my motherboard? P.S, pls give a valid answer and not a yes or no, as I'm deeply numbed out, having no where to find the correct answer. Thanks.
  9. Yes, I was planning to put it in raid 0.
  10. Debating weather or not if I should get A hdd because I'm running low on storage space on my 256gb SSD. However, I don't feel like spending $130 CAD for a 480gb SSD, which is the cheapest I can find. I only need around 400gb of game storage. A terabyte is a little over, but is more for less compared to an ssd. What should I do?
  11. If you mean plugging it into the M.2 slot on your motherboard, there wouldn't be an improvement compared to a SATA. However, if you do get your hands on a M.2 to PCI-E, it's worth every penny. Just take a look at the new Intel Optane and it's unbelievable read and write speeds. I would suggest getting any ssd that is reputable. Ex, Corsair, ADATA, Kingston, Samsung, Curcial. and etc as long as it's not a low cost Chinese branded company. Bought one last year off of Amazon and only lasted 5 months.
  12. Thanks for the response. Yeah I was looking for a duel 8 pin, but I guess they're really hard to find new. I might as well buy the two separate 8 pin braided cable from corsair on Amazon. About the Corsair shop on Canada, try adding any of the items in cart. It wont work. I even asked on Corsair Support, and they said that their E shop IT is having trouble for the Canadian site. They dont know when it's going to get fixed. RIP
  13. OMG it's let LEGENDARY PSU GOD, JOHNNYGURU! Ty for the response. Btw I live in B.C not too far from LMG's office. Apparently Corsair's online shop for Canada is broken atm so I cannot order an oem part from them. I could get one from Amazon, but they only supply braided. Would this work for my CS 750M? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Dual-8pin-6-2-PCI-E-Modular-Power-Cable-for-corsair-HX650-HX750-HX850-HX1050/323094110154?hash=item4b39e8dfca:g:k5kAAOSwru9bEfd~ I know the CS cables are compatible with the HX series not quite sure if this would be reliable.
  14. Is it safe to use a non oem Dual 8 pin PCI-E cable for my 1080 TI? Like any brand? It's really hard to find one that comes with my PSU. Thanks.
