USB devices reconnecting every once and awhile
Collinator24 replied to Collinator24's topic in Troubleshooting
I believe this issue ended up being a well known BIOS issue. Updating your BIOS should resolve this issue now. -
Setting up a Home Media Server

I personally use Plex Media Server. I don't think it will read the ISO files, but you can follow this. -
Hi. I have a server 2019 install and I have noticed that I have a safely remove devices prompt for... well... mostly everything attached Including my GPU. How would one remove this ? Thanks, BIOS is OVMF and this is running in a VM through Unraid.

Hi. My brother has an issue for his computer where his USB devices will reconnect randomly every once and awhile. Now this is where the plot thickens. I know 3 people where the exact same thing happens to them. The two(ish) things in common, they all have Ryzen 3000 series and all are running Windows 10. They also all also have 2070 supers but are not the same card, one is evga one is asus and one is founders edition. I know for a fact I have the chipset drivers and I have also messed about with the windows 10 power management settings in device manager and one in the power plan. They all face the same issue, two of them have Asus TUF B450m-plus gaming and one has a Gigabyte B550M AORUS PRO. It isn't a front USB specific issue, it happens to all USB ports. So far for my brother I have installed the chipset, tweaked with power management and today just uninstalled and rebooted to reinstall usb drivers as a last attempt. I don't know if it is fixed because it only happens every once and a while and I don't personally face the issue as I have a 9700k but I am pretty sure that because so many people I know have the issue, that it would be a wide spread one weather it is windows 10 being windows 10 or some amd driver thing I have no idea. Two systems are running CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO (16gb in a 2x8 @ 3600mhz) with XMP on. One is running G. Skill Trident Z RGB in the same config. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

I agree, and I have also had good luck with EZDIY-FAB Moonlight fans.

Am I shooting myself in the foot with the power supply?
Collinator24 replied to HEPBO3AH's topic in Power Supplies
I would not be comfortable using a 500w PSU with a 10th gen i7. Hell, I barely used a 550w (80+ from a very reputable manufacturer) PSU with a ryzen 5 2600 and a 1070 ti for my friend so from my personal experience I would say no, but I guess it could be technically possible just very close. This isn't an area where I really excel but I would just say for me no. TLDR: I am sure it *could* work but I wouldn't personally trust it. -
Sounds good. Might give it a try

Hi. So I have these nice fans but they are Chinese and proprietary. They have an inside ring of addressable led's and an outside one. I have make my own kind of pin out and here is what I have. That's + and - for the fan and data and ground for the two RGB strips inside. Now I was wondering if it was possible to convert the + and - for the fan to make it a 3pin controllable fan in the mobo. If not, that's fine because they start up in high mode automatically. My second question is how easy would it be/how possible is it to connect the addressable part to a corsair rgb strip controller? I have a pin out of the corsair controller and it is +5v, G, D. I wouldn't need the +5v but I would just connect the G and D, so the inside leds would be the same as the outside ones but both would be addressable. Again, I am not exactly certain if my pin out is correct but I do know that the + and the - are correct, and there are two sets of addressable strips and the connector from the hub to my motherboard is a 3pin but does not connect the +5v from the motherboard. I want to bypass the controller because the controller does not remember to start up in motherboard mode so I have to set it on the shotty remote every time I start my pc. Thanks!

It died a few days ago. I replaced it with a Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Semi-modular PSU.

Yeah. I ended up using the windows tests instead after fixing corruption. It was indeed bad RAM. I had some extra I tried out and no issues resulted and I had no windows issues or corruptions. I ordered some new RAM, so should be good after that.

I have multiple times. Using rufus and the included one, and I also tried the CD image.

I tried memtest86, but it won't boot to it. Just brings me back to my bios. Ubuntu and other things work fine, but it doesn't like memtest86 usb...

Hey guys. Recently I have noticed some corruption in my windows install. I thought I fixed it, then I saw a BSOD. I ran a windows memory check and it failed within 2 mins. I then ran a DISM and it said "The restore operation completed successfully.", and now windows is working properly (fingers crossed). What I am trying to see is if it's my RAM, a bad update or something worse.
