  1. Yes, yes. And the reason to not go with the DDR4 3600 vs the DDR4 3200 in the build would be...?
  2. Weird, every game I've installed and played on Epic has worked flawlessly for me. I'd label them more like a college buddy that gives me free green all the time. One day, I'll never see em' again and it'll suck because his green was always some of the best money could buy.

  4. There's no RTX 2060 involved. It's the GTX 1660 or GTX 1660 Super.
  5. If there's two sets of RAM for sell, one being the cheapest DDR4 3200 16 CAS 2x8GB RAM for $65, the other being the cheapest DDR4 3600 16 CAS 2x8GB RAM for $85, and you're on a strict budget... You have your Ryzen 5 3600, your Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard, your NZXT H510 case, your TXM 650W 80+ Gold PSU and your 1080p 144 Hz monitor and all of your SSD/HDD storage already purchased at home. You just need your GPU and your RAM. Your leftover $290 budget only allows what you already have your eye on. You're left with two choices and you're gonna buy one or the other. You don't care for AMD and you want one of these choices, no other choices. These are your two choices... A GTX 1660 for $205 and the DDR4 3600 16 CAS 2x8GB RAM for $85. A GTX 1660 Super for $225 and the DDR4 3200 16 CAS 2x8GB RAM for $65. Your B450 Gigabyte DS3H motherboard shows DDR4 3200 as the RAM speed limit on PCPP and you have the opportunity to get that 1660 Super by simply going DDR4 3200 RAM vs the DDR4 3600 RAM. Which one are you gonna buy to maximize the performance of the build?
  6. So the memory speed of all motherboards shown on PCPP does not matter, correct?
  7. Lets say you have Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 2x8GB DDR4 3600 16 CAS RAM that cost $70. A Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard that cost $73. And a Ryzen 5 3600 that cost $175. Now on the PCPP page of this motherboard it only allows up to DDR4 3200 speed RAM. But on the manufacturer website it has support for DDR4 3600(OC). What is the percent chance that this DDR4 3600 RAM is going to overclock to DDR4 3600 on this particular Gigabyte motherboard advertised as DDR4 3200 on PCPP yet 3600(OC) on its manufacturer website? You say each RAM is different, so I'm guessing this means you can't come up with this percentage. However, if you were to try 50 of this same RAM, what is the percent of the 50 that is not going to go over DDR4 3200 at all? Bare in mind, all 50 sets of RAM are the same T-FORCE VULCAN Z 2x8GB DDR4 3600 16 CAS RAM that cost $70. And lastly, maybe most important of all, out of the 50 sets of RAM, what exactly caused the ones that didn't overclock past DDR4 3200 and what exactly caused the ones that did overclock past DDR4 3200 to not clock past or clock past DDR4 3200? Something is causing these RAM sticks to not clock past or clock past DDR4 3200. And I wanna know what it is aside from, "being different". Different in what aspect? What form?
  8. I meant, "what would make the RAM overclock adventure easier on an x470 board such as the Asus TUF X470 PLUS GAMING paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 and the cheapest 2x8GB DDR4 3200 16 CAS RAM?" That Asus TUF x470 boards RAM limit is DDR4 3200. If the RAM was overclocked past that 3200, what exactly is the reason it did so and what is the reason another set of the exact same RAM may have failed to OC past that 3200?
  9. Then what would make this adventure easier on an x470 board such as the Asus TUF X470 PLUS GAMING? So maybe it did go past 3200. Lets say that was accomplished. What made it do that exactly? Luck? The material? The experience with the timings and BIOS? Pickles?
  10. What exactly determines that maybe or maybe not? Aside from buying these components and trying to do this myself. Like, is there an exact something that plays the role of getting this to occur? Tough to ask exactly what I wanna ask here. I wanna know what makes this possible I guess.
  11. Say, the Ryzen 5 3600, the Gigabyte B450M DS3H, and the cheapest 2x8GB DDR4 3200 16 CAS RAM kit available. Which right now is G.Skill Aegis for $65 or Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z for $70. With this setup, is it possible to overclock this DDR4 3200 RAM past DDR4 3200? The Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard manufacturer website shows, "Support for DDR4 3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/2933/2667/2400/2133 MHz memory modules." I'm not looking to go with anything. I'm looking to find out the answer to my questions. I want to know if it's possible to clock the RAM I mentioned past the RAM speed limit on B450 motherboards. And if so, why do they even have that RAM speed limit if it's not limited in the first place? Does the BIOS eventually get support for going past that limit or something?
  12. People claim to be able to clock memory past the motherboards memory speed limit on a board such as an x470. What about B450 though. And a not so expensive B450. Is it possible to overclock DDR4 3200 memory beyond DDR4 3200 on a B450 motherboard with a DDR4 3200 memory limit? If it is possible, is it easy and does the RAM quality matter? I understand that the higher the CPU is clocked, the tougher it is to overclock the memory in general. So lets say the CPU is not overclocked here.
  13. It's a, secret of the pros. 0:04 mark. Another secret of the pros.
  14. Was planning on doing something like that. The aim here is for everyone to get the game.

  21. I game on a GTX 1070 paired with a 6th gen i5 manually clocked at 3.2 GHz on a 1440p 144 Hz monitor.
  22. Welcome. Upon further research, I've discovered that there's more to the 3 settings I've mentioned. It does look like all 3 of them hold significant impact on fps and visuals. It's very tough to distinguish concrete results because the results are going to vary when you're in different areas of the game. Here is some results I've discovered that are pretty noteworthy. Note, this is just with my hardware(6th gen i5/GTX 1070/1440p 144 Hz Monitor). Shadows - Up to a good 30 fps impact from having them off vs having them on. The difference in fps between Low/High looks to be negligible. However, the difference between Low/High visually seems to be sharp vs soft. So it's safe to say this will be a personal preference of which one to go with if you have Shadows on. Low will be if you prefer a more sharp looking shadow. High will be if you prefer a more soft looking shadow. I personally prefer sharp, so I'm setting this to Low. Again, a reason to turn Shadows off is if you want/need that extra 30 fps. Shadows GPU Usage - Around 10% more with Shadows ON. Shadows GPU Power - Around 10% more with Shadows ON. Shadows VRAM Usage - Around 80 MB's more when ON. Ambient Occlusion - Up to a good 22 fps impact from having this on vs having this off. Visually, this is going to be a personal preference. Both look good imo. It's really going to boil down to whether or not you prefer AO imo. That subtle detail vs 20+ fps(in certain areas). Ambient Occlusion GPU Usage - Around a good 22-24% more with it ON. < Very Noteworthy (creates more temp) Ambient Occlusion GPU Power - Around a good 29-31% more with it ON. < Very Noteworthy (creates more temp) Ambient Occlusion VRAM Usage - Around 50 MB's more when ON. Anti-Aliasing - Up to a good 20 fps impact from having this on vs having it off. This fps impact is tough to spot because in most areas, it's not a 20 fps impact. It's more of a 1-3 fps impact(in most areas). I was able to discover the 20 fps impact though, in certain areas. Visually, the difference is very subtle. I want to say having AA on is basically FXAA. And having it off, is having it off. Which means, you're still gonna notice tiny jaggies, even with it on. Sit in one spot, to see what I mean. Having AA on does smooth out certain jaggies, but when you play the game in constant motion, you're really not gonna notice the difference. So imo, this setting is going to be a personal preference and a personal discovery(especially if you game in a different resolution than 1440p). I'm gonna turn it off because I want that 20 fps more than wanting the tiniest detail change when it comes to jaggies in motion. If while I'm playing the game it presents an obvious difference later on, then I'll change it, it's that simple. Anti-Aliasing GPU Usage - Around 10% more with it on. Anti-Aliasing GPU Power - Around 14-16% more with it on. < Might be noteworthy for those with less VRAM GPU's. Anti-Aliasing VRAM Usage - Around 200 MB's more when ON. < Might be noteworthy for those with less VRAM GPU's. P.S. One last thing to note. A weird discovery. There's one setting in the game that dramatically affects fps in the main menu. Ambient Occlusion. I found that by switching it from on vs off in the main menu, affects fps by 400+ fps. I went from around 144 fps with it on to around a whopping 544 fps with it off. This is something to just keep in mind. Not sure how it's going to affect when you play the game. Maybe it'll affect fps when you're in the air? Or when you're in closed rooms? Who knows. Just something to note imo.
  23. It definitely has controller support. Just played and confirmed it. It's only like a gig in file size, so no reason to wait to install it. You should be able to get around 144 fps at max settings but I did notice that Shadows have the biggest impact on fps. Shadows do look great in this game so probably best to leave them on unless you have like a really high refresh rate monitor or if your hardware is older/on the low budget side. Ambient Occlusion is probably the next fps hit but it seems it's nothing major. Everything else doesn't seem to change fps much at all. For some reason Anti-aliasing seems to have no impact on visuals with it on or off so probably best to just turn it off. I can't really tell what AA does to fps, seems like no impact. Gotta play the game more to figure that out. The game looks and plays great so far. Feels like it's going to be a hit imo.
